Eclipse AVD screen is zoom and merged - android

I Run 'XXX' project in eclipse and before showing AVD it raises dialog box with No compatible targets were found. Do you wish to add new AVD? Yes or no Button then I choose NO, Launch cancelled.
After this, if I run other projects in my workspace the AVD screen zoomed and icons are merged.
Then I deleted and recreate new AVD tried with different TARGETS and different Devices nothing works all are zoomed like above image
I'm not the only one:AVD screen content is jumbled but there is no single solution.

AVD is online, but doesn't show anything

I am developing an Android app in Android Studio. When I try to run it on an AVD, the AVD screen shows nothing.
The device frame is visible, but there is nothing inside it. The message "waiting for target device to come online" doesn't show up either.
Furthermore, I am unable to edit the graphics in the AVD settings. I have tried running the program both normally and from the AVD manager, but it doesn't work either way.
Other solutions which I have tried (and failed) are removing C:\Windows\System32\Wbem from the PATH environment variable, ending the ADB process in Task Manager, and wiping data from the AVD in AVD manager. Oh, and I even uninstalled and reinstalled Android Studio but it still doesn't work, even for a basic Hello World program. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I faced this problem due to my ram several times and even after upgrading I had to make several changes. The best solution is to set up a new avd. use Nexus S, and a light image. Start with API 16 and when it works go ahead and create your desired AVD. Keep your eye on the pop up errors AVD shows like HAXM
It may seem silly but have you checked if the emulator is not locked?
Ok, when Emulator is not displaying anything and saying like, waiting for online,
after click on power button then what you have to do is Go to,
AVD Manager then in Actions section click on bottom triangle button and click on "Cold Boot Now" to make working your Emulator.

Android Emulator not rendering correctly

A friend of mine (who doesn't have enough reputation to post images) is facing a problem with his emulator. It is not rendering as it should, even though the clicks are where they should be. In order to click on the Back button, he must click down in the black part of the "screen".
He already tried to restart his computer, change monitor resolutions and creating another emulator images.
He uses KDE and is using his NVidia hardware to process graphics.
My answer from this post: Android emulator screen fills up only some fraction part of actual android emulator screen
Best and simplest way to do it on Windows 10:
Close your Android Emulator if it is open
Right-click desktop
Click Display Settings
Set Scale and layout to 100%
Open Android Emulator
Revert your Scale and layout to the (Recommended) percentage
WORKS 100%
You can fix the scaling issue when using the Hardware rendering by simply making windows override the scaling setting. How?, it's very easy. Simply locate the .exe file for the emulator that you are using, (e.g. "qemu-system-armel.exe" for ARM and "qemu-system-x86_64.exe" for x86). To make sure which .exe file, just run the emulator then use task manager to locate the .exe file is running, see the screenshot. locate the .exe file using task manager
In my case it was in this location: "C:\Users[Username]\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk\emulator\qemu\windows-x86_64\qemu-system-x86_64.exe"
Now just right click on the file then click on properties then choose the "Compatibility" tab. Under "Settings" at the bottom, click on "Change high DPI settings". A new window will open. Tick the last checkbox "Override high DPI scaling behavior." under "High DPI scaling override". Then select from the drop down below it "System" (this is very important or it will not make any difference!), see the screenshot below. Now just hit OK and OK. Restart Android Studio and that's it, problem solved :)

Android Studio emulator gets stuck minimised in task bar

I am using Android Studio on Ubuntu 16.04. The AVD emulator starts fine, and I can install apks on it. However, if I change to a different workspace, minimise the emulator, or even click on another window, backrounding the emulator, it appears to minimise(only visible in the task bar), and from then on, it will not maximise again. Clicking on it in the bottom task bar makes it appear for a split second before minimising again. I haven't had this problem with any other window. Anyone know how to fix it?
So far I have tried:
Setting the emulator window to always stay on top
answer to install various libs that have helped people with similar AVD problems
Starting the emulator from the command line
For Windows use:
If a window won’t maximize, press Shift+Ctrl and then right-click its icon on the taskbar and select Restore or Maximize, instead of double-clicking on the icon.
I have found a workaround. By clicking into the window menu from the very top left of the emulator window, I set the emulator to both 'always be on bottom' AND always appear in all workspaces. This way, switching workspaces doesn't have any effect on the emulator, and keeping it to the bottom layer means I can open other programs in other workspaces and not have the emulator in the way. I just can't ever minimise it. It's not ideal, but at least I can do my work!
In the bottom left corner of Android studio, there is a squared icon that allows you to see all Panles. it includes also Emulator. By selecting it, I was able to have my Emulator back on screen (view mode: float).

AVD stuck at logo screen

Android AVD emulator Screen stuck up at start android logo and not progressing towards new screen.
i have enables snapshot option in AVD configurations and but still its not progressing further.
I also installed Genymotion but it gave me blank screen which hang up the window.
please suggest me solution for this
Stucked AVD screen
Please check if you have installed all the required components for that api version. Also check the screen resolution if it is proper for the selected api version in avd.
If nothing works try deleting the avd and creating a fresh 1.

Android Launcher Icon doesn't load

Doing a routine update to an app and decided to update the launcher icon as I have done many times before. However, I'm getting a very strange bug which I had once before but can't remember how I resolved.
I have the right sized icons in each drawable folder and in the manifest the name is correct:
android:icon="#drawable/ic_launcher"
When I try to update the app the old icon remains, on a fresh installation the default launcher icon shows.
I've tried:
Cleaning the project
Restarting Eclipse
Restarting my computer
Restarting the device
A different device
Adding a new set of icons using the Android Icon Set function
Adding a new set using a different filename and changing the name in the manifest
One stange thing that is worth pointing out, if I delete the file ic_launcher.png from a drawable folder, then rename another file to that filename I get this error:
This shouldn't show as the file doesn't exist. This error then shows if I click continue:
Any ideas?
EDIT:
It appears this issue is even more complex than I thought. If I install an app on the emulator the icon appears just fine, on a device it doesn't. If I install the app onto physical devices from the apk, on one device the icon appears and on the other the Package installer crashes!
It seem this is caused by a bug in newer versions of Android. The icons are indeed included in the apk and upload just fine to Play, however it takes a reboot to get them to be shown on my devices (I was wrong above where I said a reboot doesn't work). This means I need to reboot the devices each time I try and new icon, not the end of the world but certainly frustrating.
This problem exists on two different apps I have been working on and two different Nexus devices, I think since they were updated to 5.0.
