Volley method will not run - android

I am having problem with this method using Volley in my Android app. From my debugging it seems like the code never runs for some reason. I can't seem to find any solution, and I got no errors while running the app.
Could someone please help, and provide some code/solution.
Thanks in advance.
RequestQueue queue;
// My nav-drawer and some other code removed. That is not relevant.
public void registerPushToken(Context context,final String device_uuid,final String device_type, final String push_token){
RequestQueue queue = Volley.newRequestQueue(context);
StringRequest sr = new StringRequest(Request.Method.POST,"http://app.Myapp.com/api/v2/pushtokens", new Response.Listener<String>() {
#Override
public void onResponse(String response) {
}
}, new Response.ErrorListener() {
#Override
public void onErrorResponse(VolleyError error) {
}
}){
#Override
protected Map<String,String> getParams(){
Map<String,String> params = new HashMap<String, String>();
params.put("device_uuid", String.valueOf(FragmentedUser.getUniquePsuedoID()));
params.put("device_type", "android");
params.put("push_token",String.valueOf(Batch.Push.getLastKnownPushToken()));
return params;
}
#Override
public Map<String, String> getHeaders() throws AuthFailureError {
Map<String,String> params = new HashMap<String, String>();
params.put("Content-Type","application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
return params;
}
};
queue.add(sr);
queue.start();
}

I split the whole code into a new class
public class PushTokenRegister {
public static void registerPushToken(Context context) {
RequestQueue queue = Volley.newRequestQueue(context);
String url = "http://app.MYAPP.com/api/v2/pushtokens";
StringRequest strRequest = new StringRequest(Request.Method.POST, url,
new Response.Listener<String>() {
#Override
public void onResponse(String response) {
Log.i("onResponse", response);
}
},
new Response.ErrorListener() {
#Override
public void onErrorResponse(VolleyError error) {
}
}) {
#Override
protected Map<String, String> getParams() {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<String, String>();
params.put("device_uuid", String.valueOf(FragmentedUser.getUniquePsuedoID()));
params.put("device_type", "android");
params.put("push_token",String.valueOf(Batch.Push.getLastKnownPushToken()));
return params;
}
};
queue.add(strRequest);
queue.start();
}
}
And call it from this method inside mainActivity:
PushTokenRegister.registerPushToken(getBaseContext());

Sending post parameters with JsonObjectRequest volley to active campaign api

I am adding contacts to active campaign api but the request is not sending the post parameters.The parameters are being sent from postman but with volley its not working. I have tried sending params from the constructor also but no progress. Here is the code.
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap();
params.put("email", "wff#dd.com");
params.put("p[1]", "1");
//JSONObject parameters = new JSONObject(params);
RequestQueue queue = Volley.newRequestQueue(MainActivity.this);
url="https://brumano.api-us1.com/admin/api.php?api_key=key&api_action=contact_add&api_output=json";
Log.d("url",url);
JsonObjectRequest jsObjRequest = new JsonObjectRequest(Request.Method.POST,url,null, new Response.Listener<JSONObject>() {
#Override
public void onResponse(JSONObject response) {
Log.d("url",response.toString());
}
}, new Response.ErrorListener() {
#Override
public void onErrorResponse(VolleyError error) {
// TODO Auto-generated method stub
Log.d("url",error.toString());
error.printStackTrace();
}
}){
#Override
public byte[] getBody() {
HashMap<String, String> params2 = new HashMap<String, String>();
params2.put("email", "w#sss.com");
params2.put("p[1]", "1");
return new JSONObject(params2).toString().getBytes();
}
#Override
public String getBodyContentType() {
return "application/x-www-form-urlencoded;";
}
#Override
protected Map<String, String> getParams() {
Map<String, String> params2 = new HashMap<String, String>();
params2.put("email", "w#sss.com");
params2.put("p[1]", "1");
return params2;
}
}
};
queue.add(jsObjRequest);
Try this using StringRequest
StringRequest jsonObjRequest = new StringRequest(Request.Method.POST,
"https://brumano.api-us1.com/admin/api.php?api_key=key&api_action=contact_add&api_output=json",
new Response.Listener<String>() {
#Override
public void onResponse(String response) {
Log.d("url",response.toString());
}
}, new Response.ErrorListener() {
#Override
public void onErrorResponse(VolleyError error) {
VolleyLog.d("volley", "Error: " + error.getMessage());
}
}) {
#Override
public String getBodyContentType() {
return "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8";
}
#Override
protected Map<String, String> getParams() throws AuthFailureError {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<String, String>();
params.put("email", "w#sss.com");
params.put("p[1]", "1");
return params;
}
};
queue.add(jsonObjRequest);
check this, with stringRequest like this
//Tested on PostMan
#Override
protected Map<String, String> getParams() throws AuthFailureError {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<>();
params.put("userName", "cyborg91mv#gmail.com");
params.put("password", "qwerty");
System.out.println(params);
return params;
}
Now if your server expects json, then make jsonRequest
JSONObject jsonObjectBody = new JSONObject();
jsonObjectBody.put("userName", "cyborg91mv#gmail.com");
jsonObjectBody.put("password", "qwerty");

Volley request showing com.android.volley.ServerError

Volley request showing com.android.volley.ServerError also it is neccessary to implement getHeaders() method? What is exact use of this method?
send.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(View v) {
JsonObjectRequest jsonObjectRequest = new JsonObjectRequest
(Request.Method.POST, URL, null, new Response.Listener<JSONObject>() {
#Override
public void onResponse(JSONObject response) {
Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(),response.toString(),Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
}
}, new Response.ErrorListener() {
#Override
public void onErrorResponse(VolleyError error) {
error.printStackTrace();
}
}){
#Override
protected Map<String,String> getParams(){
Map<String,String> params = new HashMap<String, String>();
params.put("username","Admin");
params.put("password", "123456789");
return params;
}
#Override
public Map<String, String> getHeaders() throws AuthFailureError {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<String, String>();
params.put("Content-Type", "application/x-www-form-urlencoded");
return params;
}
};
RequestQueue requestQueue = Volley.newRequestQueue(getApplicationContext());
requestQueue.add(jsonObjectRequest);
}
});
Generally this type of error occurs when you are using poor internet connection or else your server goes down. There is no need to implement getHeaders() method. Try to just check your connection or server connection.
Use the android volley library,
compile 'com.android.volley:volley:1.0.0'
JsonObjectRequest jsonObjReq = new JsonObjectRequest(Method.POST,
url, null,
new Response.Listener<JSONObject>() {
#Override
public void onResponse(JSONObject response) {
Log.d(TAG, response.toString());
Toast.makeText(getApplicationContext(),response.toString(),Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
}
}, new Response.ErrorListener() {
#Override
public void onErrorResponse(VolleyError error) {
Log.d(TAG, "Error: " + error.getMessage());
}
}) {
#Override
protected Map<String, String> getParams() {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<String, String>();
params.put("username","Admin");
params.put("password", "123456789");
return params;
}
};
RequestQueue requestQueue = Volley.newRequestQueue(getApplicationContext());
requestQueue.add(jsonObjectRequest);
Hope this will help you (Happy Coding !).

Missing parameters Kairos API with Android Volley POST

I'm trying to use KairosAPI's enroll POST request using Android Volley. However I keep getting Error 1002, image one or more required parameters are missing. I've tried two ways to add the parameters into the body of the JSON, which I've outlined in the code.
This is my code-
public class MainActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
RequestQueue requestQueue;
#Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);
postRequestToEnrollPersonInGallery();
}
public void postRequestToEnrollPersonInGallery() {
final String appId = "3e12****";
final String appKey = "156e06fd782a3304f085f***********";
String mainUrl = "https://api.kairos.com/";
String enrollRequestUrl = "enroll";
requestQueue = Volley.newRequestQueue(this);
StringRequest stringRequest = new StringRequest(Request.Method.POST, mainUrl + enrollRequestUrl, new Response.Listener<String>() {
#Override
public void onResponse(String response) {
Log.d("Volley", response);
}
}, new Response.ErrorListener() {
#Override
public void onErrorResponse(VolleyError error) {
Log.e("Volley", error.toString());
}
}) {
#Override
public Map<String, String> getHeaders() throws AuthFailureError {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<>();
params.put("Content-Type", "application/json");
params.put("app_id", appId);
params.put("app_key", appKey);
return params;
}
#Override
protected Map<String, String> getParams() throws AuthFailureError {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<String, String>();
params.put("image", "https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/c6/c0/04/c6c004ec669d92faa36d8ff447884293.jpg");
params.put("subject_id", "12345");
params.put("gallery_name", "FirstGallery");
/*params.put("image", "\"url\":\"https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/c6/c0/04/c6c004ec669d92faa36d8ff447884293.jpg\"");
params.put("subject_id", "\"subject_id\":\"12345\"");
params.put("gallery_name", "\"gallery_name\":\"FirstGallery\""); -- i tried this too*/
return params;
}
};
requestQueue.add(stringRequest);
}
}
You aren't posting JSON.
You can either
1) Learn to use JsonObjectRequest
final JSONObject body = new JSONObject();
body.put(... , ...);
Request request = new JsonObjectRequest(url, body, ...);
2) Actually post a JSON String.
StringRequest request = new StringRequest(...) {
#Override
public byte[] getBody() throws AuthFailureError {
JSONObject params = new JSONObject();
params.put("image", "https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/c6/c0/04/c6c004ec669d92faa36d8ff447884293.jpg");
params.put("subject_id", "12345");
params.put("gallery_name", "FirstGallery");
return params.toString().getBytes();
}
#Override
public String getBodyContentType() {
return "application/json";
}
};

Get header info Android/NodeJS

I've created an API in NodeJS that contains headers (which are the tokens).
The volley library (ANDROID) post goes like this:
RequestQueue queue = MyVolley.getRequestQueue();
JsonObjectRequest jsObjRequest = new JsonObjectRequest(Request.Method.POST,REGISTERUSERURL,null,
new Response.Listener<JSONObject>() {
#Override
public void onResponse(JSONObject response) {
System.out.println(response);
}
},
new Response.ErrorListener() {
#Override
public void onErrorResponse(VolleyError error) {
hideProgressDialog();
}
}) {
protected Map<String, String> getParams() throws AuthFailureError {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<String, String>();
params.put("email","myname#gmail.com");
params.put("password", "myname");
return params;
};
};
queue.add(jsObjRequest);
But this doesnt register from the server-side. Whats the issue?

Code response code 400 when sending POST params and headers using Volley

I have tried every single method available on stackoverflow but result remains the same.
I want to send params and also api key in the Authorization field of header using volley.
Here is the code snippet.
holder.comment_button.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(View view) {
String POSTCOMMENT_URL = Utility.getIPADDRESS()+"comments";
volleySingleton = VolleySingleton.getInstance();
requestQueue = volleySingleton.getRequestQueue();
JsonObjectRequest jsonObjectRequest = new JsonObjectRequest(Request.Method.POST, POSTCOMMENT_URL, null, new Response.Listener<JSONObject>() {
#Override
public void onResponse(JSONObject response) {
Log.e("Response: " , response.toString());
Toast.makeText(myApplication.getApplicationContext(),response.toString(),Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
}
}, new Response.ErrorListener() {
#Override
public void onErrorResponse(VolleyError error) {
Toast.makeText(myApplication.getApplicationContext(),"Error", Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
}
}){
#Override
public String getBodyContentType() {
return "application/x-www-form-urlencoded; charset=UTF-8";
}
#Override
public Map<String, String> getHeaders() throws AuthFailureError {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<>();
params.put("Authorization", getApiKey() );
return params;
}
#Override
protected Map<String, String> getParams() {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<>();
params.put("pid", "39");
params.put("comment", "mobile testing");
return params;
}
};
requestQueue.add(jsonObjectRequest);
}
});
I'm getting this error:
[5333] BasicNetwork.performRequest: Unexpected response code 400 for http://www.XXXXXXXXXXX.com/comments
I have already tested the endpoint using Advanced Rest client, it works and returns the JsonObject with previously added comment.
Here are the results:
{
"error": false
"message": "comment added successfully added!"
"comment_id": "12"
"user_id": "12"
"pid": "39"
"comment": "testing for stackoverflow"
"date of comment": "2016-07-30 13:49:08"
}
Ok, after a long research and stupid rather valuable changes, it finally worked for me.
Here is the working code:
holder.comment_button.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(final View view) {
final String api_key = getApiKey();
String POSTCOMMENT_URL = Utility.getIPADDRESS()+"comments";
volleySingleton = VolleySingleton.getInstance();
requestQueue = volleySingleton.getRequestQueue();
StringRequest stringRequest = new StringRequest(Request.Method.POST, POSTCOMMENT_URL, new Response.Listener<String>() {
#Override
public void onResponse(String response) {
Toast.makeText(myApplication.getApplicationContext(),response,Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
}
}, new Response.ErrorListener() {
#Override
public void onErrorResponse(VolleyError error) {
Toast.makeText(myApplication.getApplicationContext(),error.toString(),Toast.LENGTH_LONG).show();
}
}) {
#Override
public Map<String, String> getHeaders() throws AuthFailureError {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<>();
params.put("Authorization", api_key);
return params;
}
#Override
protected Map<String, String> getParams() {
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<>();
params.put("pid", "40");
params.put("comment", "testing");
return params;
}
};
requestQueue.add(stringRequest);
}
});
Note: It worked for me, I'm not sure about others.
Changes are: Change JsonObjectRequest to StringRequest and removing any Content-Type doesn't make any difference, so I removed it.
Also, make sure all the params have some values i.e test it by logging.
