ScrollView with weight not working for me - android

I have a parent linearlayout with two scrollview inside it and I am using weight attribute inside scroll vies but this is not working for me I mean it's not providing any scrolling. Here is the code, how can I make it work?

Experimented your code and found the issue.
From your code, it does seems like what you want is a Horizontal Scroll. But you are using normal ScrollView which is by default Vertical Scroll. Consider changing ScrollView to HorizontalScrollView.
i.e. from

to
<HorizontalScrollView

Since you are fixing weight for the scrollView it thinks that the data should never exceed the height and hence it doesnt scroll. Just cover the scrollviews with frame layouts like below and try.

your XML looks ok to me so why dont you try and add a couple of buttons or images to the layouts and try to scroll them?
also dont forget to add this line of code to the very top of your XML file:

Android ScrollView not centering

Your LinearLayout width is wrap_content : it doesn't take the whole width of the screen and cannot center content horizontally. So change it to android:layout_width="match_parent" also set layout_gravity to center_horizontal android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal"

You are missing fillViewPort for ScrollView

You not need to change Height of your Linear Layout inside Scroll View.
If you do that the content inside Scroll View will not scroll.
You just need to give android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal" inside Linear Layout other than keep all the same.

LinearLayout position is shifting to up , When video is playing in Videoview

When the application is launched layout is fine. But when the video is playing. the Layout of the button is moving up.

You should make the LinearLayout(that contains FrameLayout and Button) height match_parent

No need for weight-sum, just make the layout_weights integers like 1 and 9 instead of 0.1 and 0.9
Also, fill_parent is deprecated, use match_parent instead.
You have a LinearLayout with single child. No need, just put ListView with same layout_params.
Lastly, your vertical LinearLayout on the right should have a height of match_parent.

you can use RelativeLayout for your parent and try adding twoLinearLayouts , one below another and set their heights, now place a Button in your RelativeLayout and set android:layout_centerInParent="true" for your Button .

Position four relative layouts equally on screen

I'm trying to position four RelativeLayouts on the screen equally as shown on the image below. I just can't seem to get anywhere. Each one will contain a text label and a button centred in their quadrant. I've tried placing the four inside RelativeLayout with the alignComponent values set appropriately and alignParent values set to Left/Right and Top/Bottom. I've also tried with just the alignComponent set and just alignParent set but to no avail.

Since you want to use RelativeLayout, the easiest way is to use vertical and horizontal struts (which are invisible) and use those as anchors for your four RelativeLayouts children. This approach is definitely more efficient than nested LinearLayouts with weights. You should probably read this before nesting LinearLayouts with weights.

Layout weights require a widget to be measured twice. When a LinearLayout with non-zero weights is nested inside another LinearLayout with non-zero weights, then the number of measurements increase exponentially.

I've a FrameLayout on my android app but I can't make to scrollable a part of this layout...I've tried some solutions to fix this problem, but I can't find a patch!
Pratically, I would like to see scrollable the linearlayout (maybe, linearlayout is not necessary) between Scrollview tags.
This is my xml:

In a FrameLayout all the content views are one on top of the other, so the normal behaviour is that the Linear Layout hides part of the previous Scrollview. Why don't you use a LinearLayout or a Relative Layout instead of the FrameLayout?

You can surround the view that you want to be scrollable with a ScrollView, as below:
<ScrollView android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:background="#ffffff">
// the views here that you want to make scrollable

your XML looks ok to me so why dont you try and add a couple of buttons or images to the layouts and try to scroll them? also dont forget to add this line of code to the very top of your XML file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> let me know how you get on.
