I want to make the Search view like the flowing picture.
i use this code. But did't get the result i expected .

I suggest you to use Toolbar instead Actionbar,try this way

Display SearchView in ActionBar Android

I am trying to display a SearchView inside the ActionBar of my activity. I followed android developer guide here here
But no SearchView is displayed and I cannot figure out why.

the only strange thing is that this line (android:showAsAction="collapseActionView|ifRoom") in the options_menu.xml file is highlighted in red.

In the XML folder under layout, add a searchable.xml file and put this code like so:

How to add search icon in action bar?

i think it is because of:
android:showAsAction="never"
instead of that use:
android:showAsAction="ifRoom"

ShowAsAction must be always or ifRoom.
always makes sure it is always present.
ifRoom pushes the menuitem into overflow menu if space is not available.
if your intention is to attach search functionality to your activity, you should consider using SearchView widget instead of using and icon and handling click on it.

Android - Searchview in fragment is not working as expected

I’m facing some problems with fragments.
My MainActivity contains a DrawerLayout and a FrameLayout like this:

According to each item from my navigation drawer, a specific fragment will be shown at the id/content_frame. This is working fine, but the problem is that one specific fragment has a search option at the action bar and when I submit the query, the result is not shown at the same “place” of this fragment. I mean, the result of the search don’t fill the framelayout (id/content_frame).
How could I do that ? A fragment replacement ? Does this work only using activities ?
This is my MainActivity:

Inside the method showFragment I creat the fragment object like this
(in this example, the position will be set to point to ABCFragment):

i'm using the searchview through the custum action bar directly in the fragment
Here we can not find the activity but using the getActivity can get all widgets
searchView = (SearchView) getActivity().findViewById(R.id.searchView1);
