I have an Android application that displays .mht file .In order to make that happen , I tried:
webview.loadDataWithBaseURL("", s, "multipart/related", "UTF-8", "");
But that displays unwanted content on the screen like this . Does anyone have any idea of why the WebView does not show .mht file?
The WebView do not support .mht file type.
Note: The Opera Mini can open the .mht files.

I want to show the Pdf file in web view
WebView does not have a PDF renderer.
Kindly suggest me where i am doing wrong.
You are attempting to load a PDF directly into a WebView. Use something else to render the PDF.
For show pdf in webview use Direct url:
https://docs.google.com/gview?embedded=true&url="PDF_FILE_URL"
Now load above url in webview.
mWebview.loadUrl("https://docs.google.com/gview?embedded=true&url="PDF_FILE_URL"");
I would like to know if one of your could embed GIFV format into your app. I am trying to embed it using a webview but without success.
Actually GIFV format is closer to a video format than a gif.
Whatever suggestion would be nice. Thanks in advance.
After work around of this issue, I couldn't find a solution which could display GIFV format like a video.
But, my solution to this issue has been to use a webview using the same way that i was using to make able to load "gif" files and if you remove directly the "v" from the name of the file, you can show it as a .gif file.
Resuming, remove the "v" from the .gifv file name and display it as a .gif.
The way that i am injecting code to make able to display gifs into the webview is:
public void getContentWebView(String url, WebView webView)
{
String html = "<!DOCTYPE html><html><body><img src=\""+ url +"\" width=\"100%\" height=\"100%\"></body></html>";
webView.loadData(html, "text/html", "utf-8");
}
In my app , I am having a webview . In webview ,I am showing HTML content which is having tag , .I have 2 tabs in that which should switch on clicking on same place. But in webview they are coming one after the other.
In HTML file, I am calling method of Jquery file that method is not getting called . In browser its working fine. In iOS its working.
I am loading webview with base Url method only.
webView.loadDataWithBaseURL(pathToHtml, strLoad, "text/html","UTF-8", "");
These files are in assets . I am not sure that I am able to provide correct path for jquery files. So , I copied files to sdcard. There I am giving path. So path can not be the issue.
Please help me out . I tried many things but nothing worked. I am not getting what is the issue.
You can call a javascript function from webView.loadUrl("javascript:testFunction();"); to change the tabs insted of loading the page again. at the first load, you can use webView.loadUrl("file:///android_asset/index.html"); Befor using the jquery code, make sure that javascript enabled, set the webviewclient and webchromeclient for the webView.
I want to use two html in a single webpage so i choose to implement frameset in html. it works fine in all android version except android4.0. If i html file in default browser its working fine but in webview only one frame is loaded not the other ie first frame is override by second frame so it looks only second frame is loading.
here is my code for loading html in webview..
WebView web=new WebView(this);
String url="<html><frameset cols=\"25%,25%\" FRAMEBORDER=NO FRAMESPACING=0 BORDER=0><frame src=\"file:///android_asset/preview.html"
+"\" /><frame src=\"file:///android_asset/preview.html\" /> </frameset></html>";
web.loadDataWithBaseURL("file:/"+baseurl+"/",url, "text/html", "utf-8","");
i dont know why its not supporting in android4.0 whether android webview is not accepting frame in 4.0 or not? If anyone knows please help me..
hi
In my application i need to display a html page in webview and that html page should refer to sdcard location for .css file (Using link href="...." tag).
I placed 2 files (i.e) html and css ) in sdcard->mibook.
I tried by giving absolute path as link href="/mnt/sdcard/mibook/0.css"
how can i specify path name android?
Edited:
Above problem solved : by using this- link href="file:///sdcard/mibook/0.css"
But i have following requirement,
i need to handle around 50+ html file every time ,
I placed all files as follows,
mibook->book1->pg90.sqlite
mibook->book1->links->o.css and 1.css
The sqlite file contains html pages. each html page has css reference as link href="/links/0.css"
These css file should be refer by html. how can i do this?
Try
link href="file:///sdcard/mibook/0.css"
Assuming Android >= 2.1
