Custom NavHostFragment replace framelayout with viewgorup

There are some views and one FrameLayout in the layout. I want to custom NavHostFragment replace FrameLayout with RelativeLayout, it works but the views hierarchy is wrong. The ImageView should be top, but it is in the bottom.

incomprehensible behavior of attribute app:elevation

I wonder why such a strange behavior in the app attribute: elevation = "0dp" and how to solve the problem. I use the androidx library. The toolbar is transparent. Shadow remains. When I write an app: elevation = "0dp", the shadow disappears, but the toolbar buttons, including the "back" buttons, stop responding.
I tried to solve it in other ways: android: elevation = "0dp"
programmatically set getSupportActionBar (). setElevation (0); Does not help.

This is just because you have used FrameLayout as a parent - and also removed elevation from AppBarLayout, and due to this, Your ScrollView is overlapping your AppBarLayout as it is written below AppBarLayout. change your root to something else, for eg.

Display ProgressBar in middle of Screen in android

Here is my layout for Activity. And I want to display android.widget.ProgressBar in the middle of the screen dynamically.

But it doesn't show progressBar in middle of the screen. It displays below of middle of screen like image attached below.

You can try with android:layout_gravity
Standard gravity constant that a child supplies to its parent.
You can align a view in center of the Framelayout by setting the layout_gravity of the child view .
android:layout_gravity="center"
Place the object in the center of its container in both the vertical and horizontal axis, not changing its size .

This is because you adding progressbar in center of framelayout, try this

Try it using Relativelayout, use Relativelayout as container of progressbar and use centerinparent attribute to center the progressbar in the middle of screen :

how to use SwipeRefreshLayout with Fragments

So i was using SwipeRefreshLayout and Fragments for a simple app that i am working on and i have three files:

4.i also have MainActivity.java file which contains all the necessary codes
the problem is its not changing the color of the swipeView and its not even calling the onRefresh() method. when i run the
app and swipe down the refresher comes but its color is black and its not executing the onRefresh() method.
and also there are no compiletime and runtime errors.

It seems like you have called the code inflater.inflate(R.layout.fragment_main, container, false); twice.
Try returning the object layout instead of inflater.inflate(R.layout.fragment_main, container, false)

Issue with appcompat v21 Material Design: Fragment overlay content and toolbar

I followed http://android-developers.blogspot.de/2014/10/appcompat-v21-material-design-for-pre.html to use the toolbar, without fragment, it works perfectly, but when I use fragment, the fragment always overlays the content, and I cannot see toolbar when displaying fragment.

Update: I updated the code and layout of the main activity according to reply from m iav.
new screen is blank now with the changes:

toolbar is a view in your layout , you can see it like textview ,now it is a textview overlay your fragment ,you use attrbibu to below it

so finally after checking the sample: MaterialEverywhere, I came with the solution with updating the layout:

the trick is the parent layout of the toolbar and the content frame. Instead of LinearLayout, I use RelativeLayout. and it works now as expected.
anyway, I found such change from the SDK is over complex, with so many changes, and each can cause issues. It will be much better for the developers to have clean APIs with less all these tweaks.

Regarding your second question, a navigation drawer can't be shared among different activities. You have to use a new Fragment and keep the same Activity you're working in now.
