I have read and tried a lot of works on the way to set the view pager to obtain a dynamic height buh to no avail. After setting the below, the screen was divided half and the list of data was scrolling from the middle of the screen.
CustomPager
public class CustomPager extends ViewPager {
private View mCurrentView;
public CustomPager(Context context) {
super(context);
}
public CustomPager(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) {
super(context, attrs);
}
#Override
public void onMeasure(int widthMeasureSpec, int heightMeasureSpec) {
if (mCurrentView == null) {
super.onMeasure(widthMeasureSpec, heightMeasureSpec);
return;
}
int height = 0;
mCurrentView.measure(widthMeasureSpec, MeasureSpec.makeMeasureSpec(0, MeasureSpec.UNSPECIFIED));
int h = mCurrentView.getMeasuredHeight();
if (h > height) height = h;
heightMeasureSpec = MeasureSpec.makeMeasureSpec(height, MeasureSpec.EXACTLY);
super.onMeasure(widthMeasureSpec, heightMeasureSpec);
}
public void measureCurrentView(View currentView) {
mCurrentView = currentView;
requestLayout();
}
public int measureFragment(View view) {
if (view == null)
return 0;
view.measure(0, 0);
return view.getMeasuredHeight();
}
}
CustomScrollView
public class CustomScrollView extends ScrollView {
private GestureDetector mGestureDetector;
public CustomScrollView(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) {
super(context, attrs);
mGestureDetector = new GestureDetector(context, new YScrollDetector());
setFadingEdgeLength(0);

FRAGMENT ONE

Is there a way to make the above make the viewPager dynamic in height. I am grateful. Thanks

I would like to know if is it possible to have a PagerAdapter with wrap_content without using getChildCount() and getChildAt(i)?
I have checked the answer below, but since on my adapter doesn't have children it doesn't work.
https://stackoverflow.com/a/20784791/10020799
Does someone know how to make an wrap_content adapter in this case?
My PagerAdapter code is:
public class SectionsPagerAdapter extends PagerAdapter {
private Integer pagerTotal = 10;
public SectionsPagerAdapter(Context c) {
super();
inflater = (LayoutInflater) c.getSystemService(Context.LAYOUT_INFLATER_SERVICE);
}
public void setPagerTotal(Integer item) {
pagerTotal = item;
}
#Override
public int getCount() {
return pagerTotal;
}
#Override
public Object instantiateItem(ViewGroup container, int position) {
LinearLayout layout = (LinearLayout) inflater.inflate(R.layout.home_top_page, null);
container.addView(layout);
topMain = (ImageView) layout.findViewById(R.id.top_main);
if(imageBitmapArray != null && imageBitmapArray.length > 0){
topMain.setImageBitmap(imageBitmapArray[position]);
}else{
if(intImageArray != null) {
topMain.setImageResource(R.drawable.top_main_01);
}
}
return layout;
}
#Override
public void destroyItem(ViewGroup container, int position, Object object) {
((ViewPager) container).removeView((View) object);
}
#Override
public boolean isViewFromObject(View view, Object object) {
return view.equals(object);
}
}
You can resize the ViewPager to it's current page size on page swipe from this answer.
You can use the following code:
public class WrapContentViewPager extends ViewPager {
private int mCurrentPagePosition = 0;
public WrapContentViewPager(Context context) {
super(context);
}
public WrapContentViewPager(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) {
super(context, attrs);
}
#Override
protected void onMeasure(int widthMeasureSpec, int heightMeasureSpec) {
try {
boolean wrapHeight = MeasureSpec.getMode(heightMeasureSpec) == MeasureSpec.AT_MOST;
if (wrapHeight) {
View child = getChildAt(mCurrentPagePosition);
if (child != null) {
child.measure(widthMeasureSpec, MeasureSpec.makeMeasureSpec(0, MeasureSpec.UNSPECIFIED));
int h = child.getMeasuredHeight();
heightMeasureSpec = MeasureSpec.makeMeasureSpec(h, MeasureSpec.EXACTLY);
}
}
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
super.onMeasure(widthMeasureSpec, heightMeasureSpec);
}
public void reMeasureCurrentPage(int position) {
mCurrentPagePosition = position;
requestLayout();
}
}
Use it in xml:
<your.package.name.WrapContentViewPager
android:id="#+id/view_pager"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content">
</your.package.name.WrapContentViewPager>
After that call reMeasureCurrentpage function on page swipe.
final WrapContentViewPager wrapContentViewPager = (WrapContentViewPager) findViewById(R.id.view_pager);
wrapContentViewPager.addOnPageChangeListener(new ViewPager.OnPageChangeListener() {
#Override
public void onPageScrolled(int position, float positionOffset, int positionOffsetPixels) {
}
#Override
public void onPageSelected(int position) {
wrapContentViewPager.reMeasureCurrentPage(wrapContentViewPager.getCurrentItem());
}
#Override
public void onPageScrollStateChanged(int state) {
}
});
Note that a list can have hundreds of items then this is not good to use this wrap_content ViewPager.
Even with a not expandable adapter is possible to use getChildCount() and getChildAt(i) functions.
Based on Khemraj's answer and this post's answer, I was able to solve the problem with the following code:
class:
public class WrapContentViewPager extends ViewPager {
public WrapContentViewPager(Context context) {
super(context);
}
public WrapContentViewPager(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) {
super(context, attrs);
}
#Override
protected void onMeasure(int widthMeasureSpec, int heightMeasureSpec) {
int height = 0;
for(int i = 0; i < getChildCount(); i++) {
View child = getChildAt(i);
child.measure(widthMeasureSpec, MeasureSpec.makeMeasureSpec(0, MeasureSpec.UNSPECIFIED));
int h = child.getMeasuredHeight();
if(h > height) height = h;
}
if (height != 0) {
heightMeasureSpec = MeasureSpec.makeMeasureSpec(height, MeasureSpec.EXACTLY);
}
super.onMeasure(widthMeasureSpec, heightMeasureSpec);
}
}
xml:
<your.package.name.WrapContentViewPager
android:id="#+id/view_pager"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content">
</your.package.name.WrapContentViewPager>
on page swipe:
final WrapContentViewPager wrapContentViewPager = (WrapContentViewPager) findViewById(R.id.view_pager);
wrapContentViewPager.addOnPageChangeListener(new ViewPager.OnPageChangeListener() {
#Override
public void onPageScrolled(int position, float positionOffset, int positionOffsetPixels) {
}
#Override
public void onPageSelected(int position) {
}
#Override
public void onPageScrollStateChanged(int state) {
}
});
I have made an app in which I have added functionality of vertical swipe using ViewPager class. Now I need help to also add Horizontal swipe. I have seen several projects on GitHub for vertical & horizontal swipe together in same activity but could not figure out how can I integrate this with my code.
Here is how I implemented Vertical Swipe:

#Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_mains);
mData = dbHelper.getAll(Data.class);
DATA_CARDS = mData.size();
ScreenSlidePagerAdapter screenSlidePagerAdapter = new ScreenSlidePagerAdapter(getSupportFragmentManager());
VerticalViewPager verticalViewPager = (VerticalViewPager) findViewById(R.id.pager);
verticalViewPager.setAdapter(screenSlidePagerAdapter);
}
#Override
public JSONObject getData(int position) {
String body = "";
String imageUrl = "";
JSONObject jsonObject = new JSONObject();
try {
body = mData.get(position).getContent();
imageUrl = mData.get(position).getImage();
jsonObject.put("image_url", imageUrl);
jsonObject.put("body", body);
} catch (Exception e){

I have the following views: a ViewPager that show 3 Fragments. The user can scroll horizontaly to see the others Fragment in the ViewPager.
I need to create an animation, when the Activity is created and the ViewPager is populated, that show the Fragments entering from the right side of the screen.
Is that even possible? Thanks.
XML:
<android.support.v4.view.ViewPager
android:id="#+id/devices"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="150dp" />
Activity:
MyFragmentStatePagerAdapter mAdapter = new MyFragmentStatePagerAdapter( this.getSupportFragmentManager(), fragmentArrayList );
mAdapter.setPageWidth(0.33333333f);
ViewPager devices = (ViewPager) view.findViewById(R.id.devices);
devices.setAdapter(sensorAdapter);
Adapter:
public class MyFragmentStatePagerAdapter extends FragmentStatePagerAdapter {
ArrayList<Fragment> fragmentsList;
private float pageWidth = 1;
public void setPageWidth(float pageWidth) { this.pageWidth = pageWidth; }
public MyFragmentStatePagerAdapter(FragmentManager fm, ArrayList<Fragment> fragmentsList) {
super(fm);
this.fragmentsList = fragmentsList;
}
#Override
public int getCount() {
return fragmentsList.size();
}
#Override
public Fragment getItem(int position) {
if (position<fragmentsList.size() & fragmentsList.get(position)!=null) {
return fragmentsList.get(position);
}
return null;
}
#Override
public float getPageWidth(int position) {
return(pageWidth);
}
}
OK, I found the solution. I just had to extend ViewPager and do the animation in onDraw.
This code is working as I needed:
public class ViewPagerCustom extends ViewPager {
private Context mContext;
private boolean startAnimationDone = false;
public ViewPagerCustom(Context context) {
super(context);
mContext = context;
init();
}
public ViewPagerCustom(Context context, AttributeSet attrs) {
super(context, attrs);
mContext = context;
init();
}
DisplayMetrics metrics;
TranslateAnimation anim;
private void init() {
metrics = mContext.getResources().getDisplayMetrics();
anim = new TranslateAnimation(metrics.widthPixels+200, 0, 0, 0);
anim.setInterpolator(new DecelerateInterpolator());
anim.setDuration(500);
}
private Canvas enterAnimation(Canvas c) {
startAnimationDone = true;
final int childCount = getChildCount();
for (int i = 0; i < childCount; i++) {
final View child = getChildAt(i);
child.startAnimation(anim);
}
return c;
}
#Override
protected void onDraw(Canvas c) {
if (startAnimationDone==false) {
c = enterAnimation(c);
}
super.onDraw(c);
}
}

Zoom-out page transformer
It's similar to the accepted solution but uses the same interpolator and only changes the duration based on a factor. You need to use a ViewPagerCustomDuration in your XML instead of ViewPager, and then you can do this:
ViewPagerCustomDuration vp = (ViewPagerCustomDuration) findViewById(R.id.myPager);
vp.setScrollDurationFactor(2); // make the animation twice as slow
I want to create a ViewPager, but when I execute the application in my phone, it shows me a blank activity and then the following error message:
The application testViewPager (process com.example.testviewpager) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.
How can I go about fixing this problem?

I am trying to show horizontal scroll view with images to scroll in two directions.Previously for this i used Gallery View but galleryview is deprected ,i am using horizontal scroll view instead of gallery view but horizontal scroll view is different with gallery view.
Now i have to do two implementation
1) Scrolling in two directions continuously.
2) Center lock feature as same as gallery.
My screen looks like
you can use viewpager,
try this code and modify it as your need .
note : this not my code already found it on the net belong to:
