Load Image to the corner of ImageView - android

I need to load an image of specific size in the corner of Imageview
I don't want to add several Imageviews because i don't want to lose my collapsing toolbar animations
UPDATE: Added xml part
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout

android:background="#android:color/background_light"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">

app:expandedTitleMarginEnd="64dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginBottom="5dp"

<ImageView
android:id="#+id/Image"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_gravity="center"
android:adjustViewBounds="true"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"

<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/main.toolbar"

app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
/>
</net.opacapp.multilinecollapsingtoolbar.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>

Try to use Relative layout inside the Coordinator Layout.

CollapsingToolbarLayout with two views, make one scroll but not the other

I have an activity with a toolbar and a recyclerview. On top of the recyclerview I have a panel that I want to be scrollable (to move along with the scroll of the recyclerview).
I want this panel to scroll behind the toolbar, so when the scrolling happens, the toolbar stays in place and the panel slides behind it.
Kind of what they do here:
https://i.imgur.com/fQA6bPH.gif
But I cant find the right combination of options with CollapsingToolbarLayout to achieve this effect:
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:gravity="center_horizontal"
android:orientation="vertical"
tools:context=".ui.profile.ProfileActivity">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/profile_appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:background="#drawable/topbar_gradient"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme.Dark">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:orientation="vertical"
android:id="#+id/detail_collapsing"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed">
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?android:attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="#drawable/topbar_gradient"
app:layout_collapseMode="none"
android:minHeight="?android:attr/actionBarSize" />
<LinearLayout
android:layout_marginTop="?actionBarSize"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="vertical"
app:layout_collapseMode="none"
app:layout_collapseParallaxMultiplier="0.5">
...
</LinearLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<FrameLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior">
(...)
</FrameLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
To simplify, I've changed the structure to this:
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:orientation="vertical"
android:id="#+id/detail_collapsing"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:contentScrim="?colorPrimary"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways">
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?android:attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="#drawable/topbar_gradient"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
android:minHeight="?android:attr/actionBarSize" />
<LinearLayout
android:layout_marginTop="?actionBarSize"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="vertical"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"
app:layout_collapseParallaxMultiplier="0.5">
<ImageView
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:src="#drawable/bar"/>
</LinearLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
It does exactly the same when we add an ImageView inside the CollapsingToolbarLayout like this with parallax flag of app:layout_collapseMode:
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:expandedTitleMarginEnd="64dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginStart="48dp"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed">
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_scrollFlags="pin" />
<ImageView
android:src="#drawable/cheese_1"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax" //Here is the solution
android:minHeight="100dp" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
So you may want to add :
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"
To your view (LinearLayout) or anything inside.
Read: https://guides.codepath.com/android/handling-scrolls-with-coordinatorlayout#creating-parallax-animations
I solved this problem by moving Toolbar outside of AppBarLayout. Then in code setup Toolbar as SupportActionBar.
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:gravity="center_horizontal"
android:orientation="vertical"
tools:context=".ui.profile.ProfileActivity">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/profile_appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:background="#drawable/topbar_gradient"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme.Dark">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:orientation="vertical"
android:id="#+id/detail_collapsing"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways">
<LinearLayout
android:layout_marginTop="?actionBarSize"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="vertical"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin">
...
</LinearLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<FrameLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior">
(...)
</FrameLayout>
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?android:attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="#drawable/topbar_gradient"
android:minHeight="?android:attr/actionBarSize" />
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
You need to change this to get desired effect:
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/detail_collapsing"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:orientation="vertical"
app:contentScrim="?colorPrimary"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlwaysCollapsed|exitUntilCollapsed"
app:titleEnabled="false">
<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_marginTop="?actionBarSize"
android:orientation="vertical"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"
app:layout_collapseParallaxMultiplier="0.5">
<ImageView
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:src="#drawable/bar" />
</LinearLayout>
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?android:attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="#drawable/topbar_gradient"
android:minHeight="?android:attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
Your change was in CollapsingToolbar, by using these three attributes "scroll|enterAlwaysCollapsed|exitUntilCollapsed" together will change that effect.
Description :
app:layout_collapseMode="" is attribute used to collapse/pin child views of CollapsingToolbarLayout.
There are three attributes to this :
none : No effects at all.
pin : Pin that view at CollapsingToolbar when scrolled.
parallax : Hide view parallel with CollapsingToolbar hiding.
so if you're having Toolbar pinned to CollapsingToolbarLayout then add this property pin (which will pin it to Collapsing toolbar when scrolled) and parallax will animate it until collapsed.
Let's see
How does scrolling actually works using these 4 attributes in
app:layout_scrollFlags=""
scroll : The view will be scroll in direct relation to scroll
events.(Necessary, otherwise any other attribute won't work)
enterAlways : When entering (scrolling on screen) the view will
scroll on any downwards scroll event, regardless of whether the
scrolling view is also scrolling.
enterAlwaysCollapsed : An additional flag for 'enterAlways' which
modifies the returning view to only initially scroll back to it's
collapsed height.
exitUntilCollapsed : When exiting (scrolling off screen) the view
will be scrolled until it is 'collapsed'.
snap : Upon a scroll ending, if the view is only partially visible
then it will be snapped and scrolled to it's closest edge.

How to change an image size perspective while scrolling?

Is there a way or a third party library that supports the image to be resizable while scrolling in Android, the same way contact images work in iPhone? I want the image to be large at first and to get smaller and smaller while scrolling down till it becomes of the smallest size and vise versa.
You can use a CoordinatorLayout. It allows you to specify how a view will behave as you scroll. In the example below, you can see that the view collapses, using layout_collapseMode. I suggest you check out this tutorial to learn more about what you can achieve with this kind of layout.
Here is the example XML (This example was taken from here):
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#android:color/background_light"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
>
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/main.appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="300dp"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
>
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/main.collapsing"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:expandedTitleMarginStart="48dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginEnd="64dp"
>
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/main.backdrop"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:src="#drawable/material_flat"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"
/>
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/main.toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin"
/>
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<android.support.v4.widget.NestedScrollView
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"
>
<TextView
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:textSize="20sp"
android:lineSpacingExtra="8dp"

Android collapsable layout not working properly

I am using collapsable layout . Here is the main layout for that,
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout android:id="#+id/main_content"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"

android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
tools:context=".MainActivity">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme.AppBarOverlay">
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapse_toolbar"

android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<ImageView

android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="300dp"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:background="#drawable/scenary"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax" />
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:attrs="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways"
app:popupTheme="#style/AppTheme.PopupOverlay">
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/titleContainer"
android:layout_width="match_parent"

android:layout_gravity="center"
android:gravity="center">

</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<android.support.v4.view.ViewPager
android:id="#+id/container"

android:layout_gravity="bottom"
android:background="#color/offwhite"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"/>
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
Inside the ViewPager I have a recycler view. Here is what I see when I load the app ,
When I scroll up the recycler view I am seeing this,
I am not sure why I see the gap initially and later it is getting filled with the app primary color. What a I doing here?
Attached animated gif of my screen.
Thanks
One straightforward solution is to use design support library version 23.1.1 This issue happens for design support library 23.2.0 onwards.
compile 'com.android.support:design:23.1.1'
Second solution is removing the line android:fitsSystemWindows="true" from the CoordinatorLayout.
UPDATE :
in both case the toolbar is overlapping the image, so the portion under status bar is not visible
This is happening because CollapsingToolbarLayout class is a child of FrameLayout. So the views you pass in the framelayout will stack upon each other. that's why toolbar is overlapping the image. The simplest solution in your case I found is to put android:layout_marginTop="?attr/actionBarSize" in the ImageView.
There is no app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"in your FrameLayout
<FrameLayout
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"
android:id="#+id/titleContainer"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_gravity="center"

CollapsingToolbarLayout - Inner Views hide and cut If be taller that screen height

I'm going to use CollapsingToolbarLayout in my App View.
I put ImageView inside of it and fill it by Image like Images attached below.
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/annonce.main.coordinator"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
tools:ignore="RtlHardcoded" >
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/flexible.example.appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar" >
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="?colorPrimary"
app:expandedTitleMarginBottom="94dp"
app:expandedTitleTextAppearance="#style/CollapsingTextAppearance.Inverse" >
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/post_image"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"
android:adjustViewBounds="true"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:scaleType="fitXY" />
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/flexible.example.toolbar"
style="#style/ToolBarWithNavigationBack"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways"
android:background="#null" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
Issue
As you can see in images, When image height is greater than screen height! CollapsingToolbarLayout act like css property overFlow:hidden and cut the image

How to make a gradient shape stay behind CollapsingToolbarLayout title

I've been playing around with Chris Bane's Cheesesquare example application regarding Collapsing Toolbar Layout and I'm having trouble adding a gradient behind the title on a collapsing toolbar so the title remains readable even if the backdrop is bright.
I've seen one solution here on stackoverflow that deals with this in a way.
That solution places the gradient "attached" to the image itself instead of the bottom of the Collapsing toolbar. What will happen is, as you scroll down, that gradient will disappear with the image as it parallaxes out of sight. I want to make the gradient follow the toolbar as it collapses (and keep the parallax effect).
This short video should make the issue clear: https://vid.me/J225

Any help is very welcome!
Silly me, I came back to the issue and found a solution. #whaleswallace made me realize CollapsingToolBarLayout extends FrameLayout itself (so you don't need to wrap the image and gradient view in one) so it was a matter of adding android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal|bottom to the gradient view:
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
....>
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/backdrop"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"/>
<View
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="72dp"
android:background="#drawable/backdrop_bg"
android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal|bottom"/>
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout/>
The image will be "parallaxing" in and out and the gradient will keep anchored to the bottom of the AppBarLayout.
