Google Play not automatically updated - android

I prepared my own I published in android apps on Google Play. Downloading app. However, I publish every new device is installed after the application version is not automatically updated. I tried on all devices. I activated the automatic update option from the Google Play app.
Unfortunately, I get the same results. Is there that might help?

Solution.
Add validation code inside your own app to check application version and open Google Play if newer is released. You can store version somewhere in your own server.
Automatic application updates are not popular in Android devices. Sad but true.
Do not forget whether your enabled this option in your device https://support.google.com/googleplay/answer/113412?hl=en

Is there a difference between google play app install vs local install on an Android Device?

Is there a difference between Google Play install vs local install on an Android Device?
I have a Google Play installed application and which is set up and in use, so Xamarin.Essentials.Preferences are setup. I then installed an update to that application from the beta track. Upon starting the app, Xamarin.Essentials.Preferences are not being picked up.
I had to change the keys associated with the preferences compared to the old version of the application. The new version application, on start, updates the keys and continues as normal.
I know the update code works as expected, as when the app is installed locally from an apk (not from google play), it works as expected when the updated apk is installed.
Basically, what I want to know is:
Does Google Play Services / Play Store, remove Xamarin.Essentials.Preferences at install/update? Does this only occur on the beta track?
Is there a solution to this issue? I would like to keep the end-user from having to reconfigure/re-login to the app on an update.

Why my android app in Play Store not offers to update?

I developed an Android app and installed it in a smartphone manually with the apk, in version 12. Then, I upload version 15 to Play Store.
In the smartphone I can search the app in the Play Store, but it not offers me to update the app. Only offers to "uninstall" or "open" the app.
Of course, I change the version in the AndroidManifest.
What is wrong? Thanks!
Also possible that you already installed latest version of the app while developing/testing.
SOLUTION: the app not offers me to update because I installed the older version manually. I remove the app in Play Store and then install it and then it offers me to update.
Play Store updates take time to propagate, so could just need to wait. Also could be you have a cached version of your app entry in play store app, so go to settings, apps, play store and clear cache and try again. Also make sure its the versionCode you changed in your manifest and gradle files, not version name.
Check if you set country distribution correctly.
Check if it has some restriction with your current device (like Android api, screen desnsity, device spec, et all). You can check it on AndroidManifest.xml, search for permission or hardware specs
As #BusinessPlanQuickBuilder said, PlayStore has a delay to delivery your new version of app

Why Google Play Services apk is not updating

I have a Sony Xperia running Android 4.4.4 (KitKat), and Google Play Services 4.4.52. My app is built against the latest Play Services v7.3.0, and as such, is correctly requesting the user to upgrade to the latest Play Services. My questions are:
Why has Android not automatically downloaded this update? I recently reset the phone back to factory, and it is prompting me to update a handful of other apps, but it appears Play Services is not being automatically updated. It has wifi internet access. I'm concerned that other users will experience this problem, preventing them from using the app until they update. The Google APIs for Android overview page here indicates updates are done silently and within days of each release.
Why can't I find Google Play Services through a search on the Play Store? It seems can only find it with a direct link to it via the play store.
Thanks all

I'd suggested you to update Google Play Services to 7.5.0, as it is the latest version. This should fix the update issue.

Check your android manifest for app's permissions and min/target sdk versions. There might be something that do not allow you to see your app at Google Play (e.g. something that is not present in your Sony Xperia 4.4.4)

Android app deployment on over 100 devices

We have a fleet tracking Android app which is isntalled on around 100 mobiles.
Problem is to update each mobile whenever there is a patch release. And unfotunately we have not set auto-update.
Now we need to call each driver and follow the process of update from google play.
This is becoming very tedious as they have to go to google play, search the application and install/update it.
And the mobiles are located all over the country.
Before it was easy as Goolge play was giving an option to know the apps installed on each mobile.
Need your advice on how do we manage/automate this update issue.
Build an in-app push notification that there's a new version and have an easy link to Google Play from it. However, this does have a bootstrapping problem, and you will have to make everyone install the new version manually (as in you call them and ask them to do it) at least once. Still, this is your only viable option, as Google Play developer agreement prohibits pushing app updates through other channels.
If you have email or IM contact with the drivers, you can also send them a message there's a new version with the direct link to the Google Play. They will have to open it on their device, of course.
The link format should be market://details?id=com.mycompany.myapp, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mycompany.myapp, or http://market.android.com/details?id=id=com.mycompany.myapp. Either of these three in general should work, though some OEMs have messed up their devices configuration and prevent Google Play app from intercepting the http/https form properly.
You could check a text file located on a server or something like that and then lookup if the current instaleld version is the same as the server version. If not you could download the new apk and open it. As far as I know this is not allowed by Google Play so you must remove the app from google play

Default app update

I have a lower version app installed as default app. I have a higher version of app in Google Play.
They have the same certificate. I would update the app in device automatically from Google Play. I saw the similar post below: Prompt Android App User to Update App if current version <> market version Is there a way to automatically update application on Android? but Neither of those posts answer this question. They mush have some solution. just like Goole Maps, Gmail,Pluse news and Adobe Flash player 11 do. I don't know how Google Play App can display it and how they get updated automatically? Can you help me?
Thank you in advance.
You cannot upgrade applications automatically...
There is an option in google play "Allow automatic updating". If user select this settings for your app, then it will updated automatically.
I believe for Google Maps, this settings might be turned on by default.
