Why content goes behind appbar android

I am trying to get the content below AppBar but it doesn't work. Here is the the code of the layout of my activity :

I have tryied the solution given in other stackoverflow posts like app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior" but it doesn't work. It gives this :
I have tryied with this android:layout_marginTop="?android:attr/actionBarSize" and it works but I still would like to understand how to get app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior" working.

If you don't need AppBarLayout then you can change your MainActivityLayout like this

Try changing your content layout to following:

I think this will solve your problem. Because app:layout_behavior is not used correctly in your layout. You need to use it on the layout that contains your content which is your ConstraintLayout in here, not LinearLayout. In addition, It seems that LinearLayout in your layout is useless, unless you are going to add something dynamic inside it.

OOPS my mistake. I didn't notice that your content is a fragment. Change main layout to following and remove app:layout_behavior from your content layout:

Layout_below is not working in my listview

I have custom toolbar and i want my listview to be below Toolbar . But listview is appearing on the toolbar and my layout_below is not working . I know many question have been asked before . But nothing is working . Please Help me

Your layout can be much simpler. You don't need use RelativeLayout. Just use a LinearLayout with android:orientation="vertical" instead. This way, you will have:

So how to select an item at position 1, because it must be beneath the toolbar.
And one more thing.
If my GridView is initially empty then it must show a TextView in centre of the

If there's no data, you can set the visibility of RecyclerView to View.GONE and set the visibility of empty view to View.VISIBLE

Admob under Floating Action Button

I have problem with position of floating action button. When i put ad from Admob fab is over it. I want to put ad under fab button but any method that I try does not work.

I suggest you to create layouts that contain the fab button from Android Studio's default layout.
After creating it, there are 2 layouts:

I have tried it and it does work well.

Instead of using a FrameLayout as the parent to your Ad layout, use a vertical LinearLayout. FrameLayout add it's children as frames. If you want to use it, then add a bottom margin to the content_main which should be equal or greater than the height of the Ad layout.

The FrameLayout does it like so:
Child views are drawn in a stack, with the most recently added child on top.
So you need to add the fab after/below the AdView, if you want it to appear over it.
