I have implemented GPSTracker class for getting current latitude and longitude. It is giving results for android version 4.4 and below. But when I installed the same on higher version it is giving me values (0,0). Can any one tell me where I am going wrong.

Because you don't request permissions. According to documentation:
Beginning in Android 6.0 (API level 23), users grant permissions to apps while the app is running, not when they install the app.
android.permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION is danger permission so you nedd to request it. There is official manual.
You can use GoogleApiClient's fused location provider for fetching location. You need to add a dependency in your gradle file. i.e
compile 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-location:9.6.1'
Add fine_location permission needed in manifest

It is a Dangerous Permission you need to ask permission at runtime like this.

Iam creating an app in which I have to show user current location on map.
SO for this firstly the problem I was facing was when user login in the app if his location is turned off I asked for the permission for turn on the location and even after user give me the permission I still get null lat long in my get location function and I get the location after user restart the app. Iam getting permission in splash so for this restart issue what I have done is in splash Iam restarting the activity in onActivityResult like this :

this method worked for some time but after 1 day Iam still getting the same issue and now I'm getting an extra edge case that if app is over wifi and I get the dialog to give location permission then every time I will get the same dialog even after restarting the app and giving permission and this issue will resolve after I turn my mobile data on run the app on mobile data one time and then get back to wifi again.

NOTE : Iam getting the lat long but the issue is coming in permission if before running the app location is off and I turn on the app it will give me null and I have to restart the app .
How can I refresh the marker position (for example, when user is moving) on Android maps?
I set up the refresh time for 3 seconds in locationManager.requestLocationUpdates but it seems that it's not working.

Save the marker object after adding to maps.

I wants to display my location in android device in google may using marker. I have written the following code. But there has no marker in the map. I also implement the LocationListener. But no marker. I am thankful to you if you send some code or give some suggestion.
I am also checking the isProviderAvailable and provider. They are not coming properly. isProviderAvailable returns false. Is I have to change some facility on my device? or any other problem. Please share your thought. I am waiting.

I'm building a friend tracking android app. While my friend activated the app and goes away along with his GPS and cellular data on, I need to track him on my device. That's the concept.
I've implemented LocationListener class and now I can get the last updated location either from Gps or Network but is not updated unless I launch Google Maps and return to my application. After googling, I learned that location cache is updated only by GMaps.!
Is there an alternate way to continuously update location?
What if when I need to get continues location after the device locked without making use of Wakelock?

Now the problem is, the toast just shows previously known the location and not updating unless I opened Google Maps and returned.

I believe rather than reinventing the wheel, you can use one of the third party libraries that are easy to implement and in this case, battery efficient. One of the library I found is SmartLocation. You can add the following dependency in your build.gradle (app) to start using the library.

SmartLocation library will give you more than what is expected, just try that once.
Note: Make sure your application does have ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION and ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION (both) to have accurate results. Don't forget to ask for permissions at runtime for Android 6.0 and above.
You should use android services, rather than the app itself. This way you will achieve to run code continuously in the background and you will receive the location even if the app closes.
