How to run an Pinch-Zoom example on android? - android

To run an example on android to use PinchZoom I found the following example. I was able to write a working example code which shows the View from the example - but it is all white! How can I use an actual image in this example?
I tried the following in the activity-xml:

to use an actual non-white image, but it does not work. (I also renamed the class from ZoomableImageView to CanvasView).
Maybe there is another/better example on how to make PinchZoom workable on a Canvas/Bitmap in android?

you are using a default image in the xml.use your image and by the way simply putting xml cannot alone perform the action.i suggest to use library files for the pinch zoom and then create a class for the zoom specification

Android Studio XML Widgets not rendering properly in designer

Recently, while working on some projects, I've had a rather annoying problem when coding the user interface of my application. The problem is, some controls (usually a floating action button or a regular button) render strangely. It's hard for me to explain exactly how it looks - but here's an example of how it shows the floating action button to look like in the designer:

Now, the thing is, I don't have any weird or special code added, the XML code is as pure as it gets, so I have no idea why I am having these strange rendering problems.

Solution is simple u just need to restart your android rendering engine. I provided Image for your context . In android studio top right corner above layout display there is Toggle issue panel click on that and u will see one box in the bottom showing rendering issue restart rendering engine and that will restart your android studio. and u good to go. try this solution and let me know your issue is solved or not.
note: In my Image I already restarted so there is no option for restart rendering engine .but in yours's U may be find hope so.

How do I get a background image to scale in android studio?

So I am trying to import a custom image as the background of an android app however it does not fill in all of the edges. The option I have seen is to set a second layout to be a frame layout and then place an image view within it with additional coding along the lines of android:scaleType="centerCrop". This will not fill the entire screen up for me however, heres a screenshot of what ends up happening -

Another issue is that different users use different resolutions so the background image has to be able to accommodate them all without being cut off. I'm not sure how to do this.
Set ScaleType fitXY and add android:adjustViewBounds ="true"
Please use android:src="#drawable/ instead background .I hope it will helps you.

Android nested layout

I am developing my first Android app. Although I have 15 years of Java software development experience, Android is new to me. My desired look is a background image with other images on top of it, as well as labels and phone numbers. It seems like the best way to accomplish this is a Linear Layout for the background image, with a nested layout for the other fields on top of that. I have searched online and cannot find any sample code on how to accomplish this. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
What are you using to develop? If you are you using Eclipse with the Android SDK this is super easy. Put the desired picture in the appropriate drawable folder, go to the graphical view of layout that corresponds to your activity, on the right side of the screen there is a list of all the properties, find background, then select your picture from drawables. You can also do this from the xml using android:background="#drawable/yourPic". This way you don't have to worry about having things layered on top of it.

I used it in an app, and made the trick.
First of all, RelativeLayout is the best layout to use. It depends on your design.
If your design says to keep all the views either vertically OR horizontally, you can use LinearLayouts in between.
My suggested way:

Use an ImageView. It takes all the standard formats.
You can use an ImageView:
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/logo_small"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignParentRight="true"
android:layout_alignParentTop="true"
android:src="#drawable/logo" />
and place your image file into res/drawable/logo.gif (or in a resolution specific drawable directory)
If you want to display moving GIF then there is not direct aproach, You have to try a way around, Refer bellow link for more details.

OR you can load the image in a web View and display it. ( web view should be able to display the animation )

Change Images in ImageView with gestures

I'm trying to implement something to change between images in ImageView, like a image gallery.
I have this XML to show the ImageView

My app show images that are in landscape mode, and this is the reason which I am using the HorizontalScrollView. Now I have the problem, I would try to implement something to change to other Image with some kind of gesture, but i don't know if the HorizontalScrollView is a problem for this. Can somebody help me with this? Which method is the most frequently used for this Activities?

Here there is a nice tutorial with a ViewPager. You could even integrate with Gesture-ImageView to add zoom capabilities to the gallery.
Ah! don't forget to add this patch to Gesture-ImageView to better integration.
How about using the Gallery UI widget? It's exactly for scenarios like this. Here's a tutorial for it and the reference.
