Unable to locate my device - android

There's a problem with Location... I'm using method to get latitude and longtitude. But my Location variable is null. So my coordinates are 0,0.
Can anybody help me,pls?

loc is null anyway. When I'm compiling app, GPS and wifi are enabled on my phone.

Given that you're swallowing the SecurityExceptions, I'm guessing your app did not request permission to ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION and ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION, needed for Network and GPS location, respectively.
I generally recommend against silently swallowing exceptions. These particular SecurityExceptions, you should have never needed to add a catch statement for them (that was your clue that something was wrong), b/c you should've called checkSelfPermission() before attempting to access the resource.

Location is null even if GPS is turned on

The getUserLocation() is one of the functions in the LocationListener that will return the user location with either the GPS or the network. I am calling this function from a fragment like this.

The AlertBuilder function will show an alert box with a button which upon click closes the app.
As you can see from the screenshot the GPS is enabled yet the location returned to me is null and the app closes after showing the alert dialog.
What could be the problem? why is the location returning null even after turning on the GPS?

Another (deprecated) way is to set a OnMyLocationChangeListener to your map to get the location

Altitude getting zero always through gps android

You're calling getAltitude() only when hasAltitude() returns false (when no altitude data is available and therefore 0.0 is returned).
that depends of the gps receiver installed on your phone. If the vendor implements some sort on not standard nmea implementation, is possible that not all the information are available. You can check if the chipset does support altitude through the sdk. Here the documentation

GPS getting me only one location and that never changes Android

in my app I am able to use the GPS but the problem is that it always getting me the same location. Everytime I am retrieving the location from that on, it gives me the same value. First time it was fetched and I was online, wirelessly. Then i went out with only the GPS and even if I was a mile away location was the same. I enabled 3g and still the same.
I send my app to a friend of mine, he got a different first time location and then he sees the same no matter where he goes.

In this For the parameter of MIN_TIME_BW_UPDATES and MIN_DISTANCE_CHANGE_FOR_UPDATES you have to set the 0 and 0. If it is set to 0,0. It will give you the location update as quick as possible. If you set larger value for the you never get the updated value until your condition satisfied. I hope this could solves your problem.
