Failed binder transaction - android

My app displays a picture and text, when my user clicks on said picture I wish to enlarge it.
So far I do it through an Activity that displays a Bitmap:
// ImageView containing the image.
final ImageView apd = (ImageView) view.findViewById(R.id.apd_image);
apd.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(View view) {
// Save ImageView as Bitmap
apd.setDrawingCacheEnabled(true);
apd.buildDrawingCache(true);
Bitmap bitmap = apd.getDrawingCache();
// Create intent and set image to display.
Intent intent = new Intent(getActivity(), GalleryDetailsActivity.class);
intent.putExtra("image", bitmap);
//Start details activity
startActivity(intent);
apd.destroyDrawingCache();
}
});
Here is the Activity:
#Override
protected void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.gallery_details_activity);
Bitmap bitmap = getIntent().getParcelableExtra("image");
ImageView imageView = (ImageView) findViewById(R.id.image);
imageView.setImageBitmap(bitmap);
}
But when I click on my picture I receive the following error message in the debugger:
E/JavaBinder: !!! FAILED BINDER TRANSACTION !!!
Some research got me to reduce the image quality in order to display it like such:
final float densityMultiplier = getResources().getDisplayMetrics().density;
int h = (int) (50 * densityMultiplier);
int w = (int) (h * bitmap.getWidth() / ((double) bitmap.getHeight()));
bitmap = Bitmap.createScaledBitmap(bitmap, w, h, true);
It works, but it's not what I want.
Would there be a way to widen my image and keep its quality?
EDIT:
As recommended I now Save my picture in my file system like such:
private void savePicture(String filename, Bitmap b, Context ctx){
try {
ObjectOutputStream oos;
FileOutputStream out;// = new FileOutputStream(filename);
out = ctx.openFileOutput(filename, Context.MODE_PRIVATE);
oos = new ObjectOutputStream(out);
b.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.PNG, 100, oos);
oos.close();
oos.notifyAll();
out.notifyAll();
out.close();
} catch (Exception e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
And load it in the activity like such:
private Bitmap loadPicture(String filename) {
Bitmap b = null;
try {
FileInputStream fis = openFileInput(filename);
ObjectInputStream ois = null;
try {
ois = new ObjectInputStream(fis);
} catch (IOException e1) {
e1.printStackTrace();
}
b = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(ois);
try {
ois.close();
fis.close();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
} catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
return b;
}
I now want to display it in a bigger size.

Don't pass the image via intent. Intents are meant to hold a small amount of data, not images. Write it to the file system, and pass the file name via intent.

Share loaded image with glide from imageview

I have a loaded image on my imageview widget which was loaded from glide library. I want to use a share intent to share that image to other applications. I have tried various possibilities without any success. Please help.
public class BookstorePreviewActivity extends AppCompatActivity {
ImageView imageView;
LinearLayout mShare;
#Override
protected void onCreate(final Bundle savedInstanceState) {
super.onCreate(savedInstanceState);
setContentView(R.layout.activity_bookstore_preview);
imageView = findViewById(R.id.image_preview_books);
mShare= findViewById(R.id.download_books);
mShare.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(View v) {
// fetching image view item from cache
imageView.setDrawingCacheEnabled(true);
Bitmap bitmap = imageView.getDrawingCache();
File root = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory();
File cachePath = new File(root.getAbsolutePath());
try {
cachePath.createNewFile();
FileOutputStream outputStream = new FileOutputStream(cachePath);
bitmap.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.JPEG, 100, outputStream);
outputStream.close();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
// sharing image to other applications (image not found)
Intent share = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_SEND);
share.setType("image/*");
share.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, Uri.fromFile(cachePath));
startActivity(Intent.createChooser(share, "Share via"));
}
});
Just Pass activity context to the takeScreenShot activity it will
work!!!
public static Bitmap takeScreenShot(Activity activity) {
View view = activity.getWindow().getDecorView();
view.setDrawingCacheEnabled(true);
view.buildDrawingCache();
Bitmap b1 = view.getDrawingCache();
Rect frame = new Rect();
activity.getWindow().getDecorView().getWindowVisibleDisplayFrame(frame);
int statusBarHeight = frame.top;
//Find the screen dimensions to create bitmap in the same size.
DisplayMetrics dm = activity.getResources().getDisplayMetrics();
int width = dm.widthPixels;
int height = dm.heightPixels;
Bitmap b = Bitmap.createBitmap(b1, 0, statusBarHeight, width, height - statusBarHeight);
view.destroyDrawingCache();
takeScreen(b,activity);
return b;
}
public static void takeScreen(Bitmap bitmap,Activity a) {
//Bitmap bitmap = ImageUtils.loadBitmapFromView(this, view); //get Bitmap from the view
String mPath = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory() + File.separator + "tarunkonda" + System.currentTimeMillis() + ".jpeg";
File imageFile = new File(mPath);
try {
OutputStream fout = new FileOutputStream(imageFile);
bitmap.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.JPEG, 90, fout);
fout.flush();
fout.close();
} catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
openScreenshot(imageFile,a);
}
private static void openScreenshot(File imageFile,Activity activity) {
Intent intent = new Intent(activity,ImageDrawActivity.class);
intent.putExtra(ScreenShotActivity.PATH_INTENT_KEY,imageFile.getAbsolutePath());
intent.addFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_NEW_TASK);
activity.startActivity(intent);

How to disable image from saving into internal memory while downloading from an url

I am using the following code to download an image from an url, then saving to sqlite and then view in imageview in an activity.
new LoadProfileImage().execute(jsonObject.getString("image"), id, title, promoexpdate, String.valueOf(i),flag,promostartDate);
The above code is used to call the function to do the above work.
private class LoadProfileImage extends AsyncTask<String, Void, Bitmap> {
ImageView bmImage;
String x,y,z,a,w,s;
protected Bitmap doInBackground(String... uri) {
String url = uri[0];
Log.d("ImageURL",url);
x = uri[1];
y = uri[2];
z = uri[3];
a = uri[4];
w = uri[5];
s = uri[6];
Log.d("LogValue",url+x+y+z+a+w+s);
Bitmap mIcon11 = null;
try {
InputStream in = new java.net.URL(url).openStream();
mIcon11 = BitmapFactory.decodeStream(in);
} catch (IOException e) {
Log.e("ErroronImageParsing", e.getLocalizedMessage());
e.printStackTrace();
}
return mIcon11;
}
protected void onPostExecute(Bitmap result) {
if (result != null) {
int width = result.getWidth();
int height = result.getHeight();
Bitmap newBitmap = Bitmap.createScaledBitmap(result, width / 2, height / 2, true);
ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
newBitmap.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.PNG, 100, out);
buffer = out.toByteArray();
if (result!= newBitmap){
result.recycle();
}
Log.d("ImageUploaded", "Success");
}
try {
dbManager.open();
Cursor cursor = dbManager.fetch_PromsID(x);
if (cursor.getCount() > 0){
String fla = cursor.getString(cursor.getColumnIndex(DatabaseHelper.PRO_FLAG));
String pri_ID = cursor.getString(cursor.getColumnIndex(DatabaseHelper.PRO_ID));
if (!w.equals(fla)) {
dbManager.update_Promotions(pri_ID,y,z, buffer,w,s);
}
}else {
dbManager.insertPromotions(x,y,z,buffer,w,s);
}
} catch (SQLException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
SqliteData();
panel.setVisibility(View.GONE);
dbManager.close();
}
}
Here, when the code below is executed, image from the url is saved into internal storage. I wish to disable the auto saving while maintaining my intention. Thanks in advance...
Bitmap newBitmap = Bitmap.createScaledBitmap(result, width / 2, height / 2, true);
ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
newBitmap.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.PNG, 100, out);
buffer = out.toByteArray();
Try to use third library like Picasso or Glid
that offer
loading without caching
loading with memory or storage caching
you can do it with single line of code
Picasso.with(context).load(imageUrl)
.error(R.drawable.error)
.placeholder(R.drawable.placeholder)
.memoryPolicy(MemoryPolicy.NO_CACHE, MemoryPolicy.NO_STORE)
.into(imageView);

How do I take screenshot or save as image my fragment app in android studio

I have recently made an app memegenerator
screenshot : enter image description here
I want whenever I click on the button to create meme
it should automatically save that picture below (which is a fragment)
How do I do that I have no idea?
This is what I found on internet to place in my code
Should I add this on my mainactivity file or the fragment java file
` public void createBitmap()
{
//Log.d(Const.DEBUG,"Creating a Bitmap");
Bitmap bmp;
ViewGroup v = (ViewGroup)((ViewGroup) this.findViewById(android.R.id.content)).getChildAt(0);
v.setDrawingCacheEnabled(true);
bmp = Bitmap.createBitmap(v.getDrawingCache());
File directory = new File(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory()+ File.separator);
File file = new File(directory,"DankMeme");
try{
FileOutputStream out = new FileOutputStream(file);
bmp.compress(Bitmap.CompressFormat.JPEG,100,out);
out.flush();
out.close();
}
catch (Exception e)
{
e.printStackTrace();
}
v.destroyDrawingCache();
v.setDrawingCacheEnabled(false);
}`
**update This my fragment code **

}
This method will take screenshot from your mobile screen. you can change the MainView to your view that you want to take screenshot from.
Don't forget to add "Write external storage" permission to manifest
public void tackeAndSaveScreenShot(Activity mActivity) {
View MainView = mActivity.getWindow().getDecorView();
MainView.setDrawingCacheEnabled(true);
MainView.buildDrawingCache();
Bitmap MainBitmap = MainView.getDrawingCache();
Rect frame = new Rect();
mActivity.getWindow().getDecorView().getWindowVisibleDisplayFrame(frame);
//to remove statusBar from the taken sc
int statusBarHeight = frame.top;
//using screen size to create bitmap
int width = mActivity.getWindowManager().getDefaultDisplay().getWidth();
int height = mActivity.getWindowManager().getDefaultDisplay().getHeight();
Bitmap OutBitmap = Bitmap.createBitmap(MainBitmap, 0, statusBarHeight, width, height - statusBarHeight);
MainView.destroyDrawingCache();
try {
String path = Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().toString();
OutputStream fOut = null;
//you can also using current time to generate name
String name="YourName";
File file = new File(path, name + ".png");

//this line will add the saved picture to gallery
MediaStore.Images.Media.insertImage(getContentResolver(), file.getAbsolutePath(), file.getName(), file.getName());
} catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
} catch (IOException e) {
e.printStackTrace();
}
}
calling method by using :
Button memeDanke = (Button) view.findViewById(R.id.memeDanke);
memeDanke.setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
#Override
public void onClick(View v) {
tackeAndSaveScreenShot(getActivity());
}
});

File mCapture = new File( mFolder.getAbsolutePath()+ "/Captured");
SimpleDateFormat formatter = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd_HH-mm-ss_SSS");
String dateString = formatter.format(new java.util.Date());
String fileName = new SimpleDateFormat("yyyy-MM-dd_HH-mm-ss_SSS'_xxx.jpg'").format(new Date());

try {

if (!imgFile.exists()) {
imgFile.createNewFile();
}
fos = new FileOutputStream(imgFile);

fos.flush();
fos.close();
MediaStore.Images.Media.insertImage(getActivity().getContentResolver(), b, "Screen", "screen");

final Intent shareIntent = new Intent(Intent.ACTION_SEND);
shareIntent.setType("image/jpg");
final File photoFile = new File(extr,fileName);
shareIntent.putExtra(Intent.EXTRA_STREAM, Uri.fromFile(photoFile));
startActivity(Intent.createChooser(shareIntent, "Share image using"));
here mContentView is the parent view of your surface view.
apply this and let me know if you are not getting image screen shots.

how to create and save a screenshot from a surfaceview?

I have an app that I want to be able to capture a screenshot
Here is my code :
public class Screenshot {
private final View view;
/** Create snapshots based on the view and its children. */
public Screenshot(View root) {
this.view = root;
}
/** Create snapshot handler that captures the root of the whole activity. */
public Screenshot(Activity activity) {
final View contentView = activity.findViewById(android.R.id.content);
this.view = contentView.getRootView();
}
/** Take a snapshot of the view. */
public Bitmap snap() {
Bitmap bitmap = Bitmap.createBitmap(this.view.getWidth(), this.view.getHeight(), Config.ARGB_8888);
Canvas canvas = new Canvas(bitmap);
view.draw(canvas);
return bitmap;
}
}
but the contents of the surfaceView is saved as black.!!!
Please help me, Thanks...
I hope you have used this solution which was posted here Get screenshot of surfaceView in Android
this thing is explained here Take Screenshot of SurfaceView
The SurfaceView's surface is independent of the surface on which View elements are drawn. So capturing the View contents won't include the SurfaceView.........
I hope this Taking screenshot programmatically doesnt capture the contents of surfaceVIew code can help you out more
