I have an app installed(created by me) on my android phone. How will I code the functionality to automatically update from Playstore, without notifying the user(since I have trusted the old app instalation).
You can update your Android device's apps individually or allow them to be updated automatically:
Open the Google Play Store app Play Store.
Tap Menu Menu and then Settings.
Tap Auto-update apps.
Set up automatic updates
To set up automatic updates for all apps on your mobile device:
Open the Google Play Store app Play Store.
Tap Manu - > Settings.
Tap Auto-update apps.
Select an option:
Auto update apps at any time: Updates apps at any time, using either
Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only: Updates only when you are connected to Wi-Fi.
Note: If an account on your device has a sign-in error, apps may not update automatically.
You can google it also same processor written everywhere.
#ratheesh
Inside your SplashActivity only if you want to force update
final String appPackageName = getPackageName();
startActivity(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_VIEW, Uri.parse("market://details?id=" + appPackageName)));
The method for turning on and off automatic app update on Android devices has changed several times over the years. For example, see How to Disable Automatic App Updates in Android. And for example, current Google Play Help advice is not applicable for users running the latest Android and Google Play Store software versions.
I am running Android Version 10 with One UI Core 2.5 and Google Play Store Version 25.5.22-21 on a recently-acquired Galaxy A12 phone.
On my phone, after opening the Google Play Store app, I click on my round Google profile icon (in the orange square in the image below) in the upper right corner of the Play Store app window,
click on Settings (in the red oval in the image below),
and select 'Auto-update apps' in the Settings window.
An implication is that changing the auto-update setting is now going to affect all Android devices being managed via that Google profile.
I hope this helps others trudging along in my footsteps.

I would like to know if there is any effective way to test an app for Huawei Store using an Android Studio emulator.
I tried disabling the Google Play Services, but for some reason Retrofit requests stopped working :/
You can use Cloud Debugging of AppGallery Connect to test your app for Huawei Devices.
Cloud Debugging tests your app using mainstream Huawei devices provided by Huawei. You can run your app on the latest and most popular Huawei devices to test app functions.
Work with Cloud Debugging
Sign in to AppGallery Connect and select My projects.
Select an app to be tested.
Go to Quality > Cloud Debugging.
Filter devices by Series, Android version, EMUI version, and Resolution.
In the Apply for device model dialog box that is displayed, set Debug duration based on your needs. The options are 30 min, 1 h, and 2 h.
Wait for the device initialization to finish.
Click the Debugging tab.
Click Upload to upload an APK.
Check the APK upload progress and install the APK after the upload is complete.
In the displayed dialog box indicating that the app is being installed, click OK. When the installation is complete, you can see the app icon on the device screen on the left.
Operate the device by moving or clicking your cursor on the device screen, or clicking the power button, home button, menu button, or back button. The device will respond like your own phone.
Check Screenshot below:
You can check out the official documentation for a more complete answer.
For most cases, you can simply grab HMS Core APK and install it on emulator or physical device
You do not need for most cases Huawei device. Here is my battle-tested solution.
If you're implementing HMS (Huawei Mobile Services) feature like push notifications, sms retrieving or auth(orization) you can do simply:
Grab HMS Core APK from: https://www.huaweicentral.com/download-the-latest-huawei-mobile-services-apk/
Create new or run existing Android emulator via Android Studio or ADB
Install HMS Core APK downloaded from 1.
Go to Settings -> Apps & Notifications
Make sure that HMS Core has required permissions like SMS for SMS retrieving or push notifications
If you forget about 5., HMS library will return exception "Permissions not enabled"
I am pretty sure that instead of emulator you can use any of physical devices, grab APK and install HMS Core on it.

Happy coding!
Well, I was trying here to make Retrofit work in this condition and I found a way.
I don't know if it is the best solution, but I will post it anyway.
disable the Google Play Services;
force stop your app;
restart the emulator;
check if it is working now (if not, try to force stop your app again).
P.S.: Google Play Services is not re-enabled upon reboot.
I actually want's to reach app changes in to user installed app.How this can possible.
1- My app is live on play store.
2- There are 30,000 of live users.
There is a bug in app and i resolved that bug now i don't want to upload new version of app on play store there is only small change so i don not update that version to play store now i don't want all users will update for small change updated build.
What i need to do for this if there is any tool to user device installed app that bug fixed which is i resolved.
I am not using Web-services for that change so data is not depend on web server.
Is there any tool or any other way to reach users installed device that change for that all these changes reflect to user installed app??.
without any user authentication by playstore.
or is there any way to reach these changes to user device.
No, like it or not, but there's no mechanism you can use to replace installed app or hot swap it portions on user's device other than reinstall.
In future release you could add ie push messages telling user to download the update from your server (but that would require enabled sideloading to have it installed).
There is only single answer all over the stack or E- bloggers as well google Developers answers.
We can upload our build at Google play store at Strict mode , Strict mode make without user authentication or permissions update build and that build reach to user installed device .
In case of (User must have Internet connection or when user get connected by internet or WiFi same time app automatically update without any User Intersection or this process user can not view that particular app is updated or not) if user know this particular app previous version like "1.1" and now "1.2" then only user can understand app is updated in my device without user permission.
Google added this in Play store publisher account this feature for Developers some of the developers know very well but some not.
All changes Reach to user installed app in this case user not required to make app update from Play Store.
I have a problem with updating an Android app. My requirements to the application are:
It must work constantly (24/7);
Updating should also be automatic, with no user input.
I uploaded the application to the developer console to conduct beta-testing. Then, I installed it on the tablet (I used URL).
Then, I uploaded the update, but the application does not start the updating process automatically.
There are no added additional permissions. The "automatic updates" are turned on in Play Market settings.
4 days have passed. If I go to the app's page in the market, I see that an update is available, but it does not start the download process.
The question is: what may be the problem? Why does the app not update?
Is it possible that the app gets reinstalled instead of an update (thus requiring some user input to proceed)?
Thank you in advance!
in Google play store app, open side menu, go to settings, enable auto update apps. It should do the trick
The Google Play auto update solution does not seem to work, when the app is always running. The way to achieve it through enterprise management tools.
Since I have downloaded facebook in my phone it always updates automatically. I don't need to go to playstore and update it.
How can I implement this great feature in my android app.
There is no feature like this you can implement in Your App.
Your Facebook app is updated automatically because there is a setting in your playstore for Auto Updating Apps.
With this reference of this link :
Open the Google Play Store app.
Tap Menu and then Settings.
Tap Auto-update apps.
Select an option:
Auto update apps at any time: Updates apps at any time, using either Wi-Fi or mobile data.
Auto-update apps over Wi-Fi only: Updates only when you are connected to Wi-Fi.
See this link for more details.
From what I read on SO, it seems that I want the impossible (?)
I have a kiosk-like app that is supposed to run 24/24, 7/7, 365/365. This makes it hard/impossible to update the app. As far as I know, Google Play will not start the update (even if Autoupdate is set for my app) while my app is running.
I read across SO and several forums an found a lot of NO's and CON's. My current answer is that is not possible without rooting the device or without some system certificates and so on.
But still, I have the following scenario:
I created a google account myGoogleAccount#gmail.com
On my device I add this account and install my application from Google Play store.
On my desktop machine I log into GPlay with the same account and I go to my application and I see that my app is Installed. If I click on the Installed button I can see my device.
I publish a new version of the app, when the app becomes available, from my application's page open on desktop I can send a command to update the app.
I get the prompt to accept the terms bla-bla, and once I accept it, the app is automatically updated even if it is currently running.
Basically this is the behavior I am interested in. My question is: can I run this scenario from my device [invoking some GPlay api's] given the fact that I can provide the google account credentials to the app, so that no user intervention is required to update the app and to accept whatever unchanged permissions?
