I want repeat my notification every day at 12h, but my code isn't working...
I launch my Alarm Manager in MainActivity in OnCreate like this :

Update your manifest file to have the following parameters for your receiver:

Then I believe the problem could be with the icon you have chosen with:
.setSmallIcon(R.drawable.photo)
If the image is not compatible then you will not see a crash outside the app, it will only show a fatal exception inside of the android monitor if the phone is plugged in, so it can go unnoticed and the notification will not be fired.
The drawable that is used needs to have the different sizes for different phone densities. To make the correct drawables, right click on your drawable package and do New -> Image Asset. From the pulldown select Notification Icons, and use that to generate all the different sizes for the icon.

I added a notification feature to my app, when the user clicks on the notification it sends him to a certain activity in my app, but I also want it to change an integer variable number, I tried defining the variable static and do:
ActivityName.Variable = ActivityName.Variable + 1 or ActivityName.Variable++;
And it actually worked! but only when I change the date on my phone manually, so when the user sees the notification after waiting 1 day (the notification is daily) and clicks on it...he get to the activity but with no increase in the variable.

As a beginner, I wrote a code for notification. I put that code in MainActivity.
Now the problem is, my app shows notification at sharp 8 AM. But During other time, if i restart my app, it shows notification again(at any other time). Basically I am not cancelling it notification as it appears. Though I have put AutoCancel true. Am i missing something?

I am working on an android application but the problem is that I have to alert user through a message on notification bar which will occur after ten(10) days ,like in candy crush game it gives alert of full lives after some hours. My problem is that i am unable to set the alarm to trigger the receiver at a specific time in the future. A specific day would be enough.
Problem is with the Month value you have set. I believe you thought for month April the value is 4. The value of month starts from 0 , so April will be 3.
Change you code on month as Calendar.APRIL or set value as 3

Try to put your notification code in the onStartCommand function instead of onCreate.
Writing the alarmmanager code in the onCreate method of the LAUNCHER activity of the app solved my problem
