I am trying to make navigation bar but it is covering whole screen and not responding to screen.

I have fragment behind it, i suppose but by default navigation is open.

I think, you are adding your fragments in "fragment_container" which is a FrameLayout inside LinearLayout instead of nav_view. I also observer you are using match_parent for nav_view height. Which will overlap your fragment_container. It's better to design your DrawerLayout like below code which is recommended by Android Developers.

Add android:layout_gravity="start" to your NavigationView. That will move it offscreen, until you swipe right to reveal it.

DrawerLayout conflicts with RecyclerView? RecyclerView fill the whole screen

I created an Activity using DrawerLayout which is attached in AndroidStudio.But When I used the RecyclerView, the RecyclerView filled the whole screen...?

The Button on the left top can't be used.Guess it was coverd by RecyclerView

Your layout needs to be structured like this :

Different color in navigation drawer

I have used two color: light color #607D8B for app bar and dark color #455A64 for above appbar. But problem is, navigation drawer display two different color other then I mentioned. I don't know why the different color come to the navigation drawer. So, what can be done to solve this issue ?

Fixed navigation header in navigation drawer while scrolling through items

CURRENT STATE: NavigationDrawer with a NavigationHeader and NavigationMenu items. The items are large in number so scrolling is required in order to access the items towards the bottom.
REQUIREMENT: When scrolling down to the bottom, the NavigationHeader should stay fixed

1. PLACE nav_header_main inside NavigationView

Remove orientation from RelativeLayout. It doesn't support it
Set android:gravity="bottom" for parent RelativeLayout of header view.
My mistake, It will still scroll. You need to have custom recycler view for your navigation menu. So it scrolls in it's own container

You should move DrawerLayout as top parent and move Toolbar out of DrawerLayout content container.

However, Material Design guidelines state that Navigation Drawer should be above the Toolbar.

You should simply add
android:layout_marginTop="#dimen/abc_action_bar_default_height_material"
to your layout which you are using as drawer.
This will automatically adjust the navigation drawer below the toolbar and also supports different screen sizes.

You can add layout_marginTop like this,

If you create a project as a Navigation Drawer project(Navigation Drawer Activity) it will give you four XML files at the creation in your layout folder

how these xmls are linked? mostly i see include tag is used
Your Activity is linked with activity_main
activity_main has the app_bar_main and navigation_view(drawer)
app_bar_main has the toolbar and content_main by default
now lets remove activity_main and set its contents directly to app bar main and use it as the main layout for Activity.
To add the drawer under tool bar
add it under the android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout because is contains the toolbar and its should be on top.

An Easy and Good solution is set fitsSystemWindows=false for
android.support.v4.widget.DrawerLayout
that has id as
android:id="#+id/drawer_layout"
And for navigationView set layout_marginTop as ?attr/actionBarSize that would get the actionbar size and set it as margin
