Can't replace my content with a fragment - android

I have an activity where I show a map. I want to can change when click an item on my navigation drawer with a different fragment.
I have next main xml:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.v4.widget.DrawerLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/drawerLayout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:orientation="vertical"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"
tools:context="com.main.activities.Activity_main">
<include layout="#layout/my_bar" />
<android.support.design.widget.NavigationView
android:layout_marginTop ="45dp"
android:id="#+id/navigation"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_gravity="start"
app:menu="#menu/navigation_menu"
app:itemIconTint="#000000"
android:background="#FFFFFF"
app:itemTextColor="#000000"
app:headerLayout="#layout/navigation_header">
</android.support.design.widget.NavigationView>
</android.support.v4.widget.DrawerLayout>
Bar layout:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:ads="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:id="#+id/my_bar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<!-- Toolbar -->
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:minHeight="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="#color/primary_color"
android:titleTextAppearance="#color/text_and_icon_color"
app:popupTheme="#style/Theme.AppCompat"
android:elevation="1dp"
android:textAlignment="center"
android:layout_height="45dp">
<TextView
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:text="My app"
android:layout_gravity="center"
android:id="#+id/toolbar_title"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:textSize="24sp"
android:textColor="#android:color/white" />
</android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar>
<include layout="#layout/my_content" />
</LinearLayout>
My content:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:ads="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:id="#+id/my_content"
android:background="#color/window_background_color">
<fragment xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:id="#+id/map"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:name="com.google.android.gms.maps.SupportMapFragment"
android:layout_below="#+id/adView"/>
</RelativeLayout>
I try to replace the map with a fragment :
<FrameLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
tools:context="com.main.activities.catalog">
<TextView
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:text="#string/hello_blank_fragment" />
</FrameLayout>
I call with this code:
catalog fragment2 = new catalog();
android.support.v4.app.FragmentTransaction fragmentTransaction = getSupportFragmentManager().beginTransaction();
fragmentTransaction.replace(R.id.my_content, fragment2, "fragment2");
fragmentTransaction.commit();
But my map isn't replaced with new fragment. Where I do wrong?

As #MikeM says in a comment to your question, the problem is that my_content.xml contains a static fragment specified directly in the XML. FragmentManager will not replace such a fragment dynamically at run time. Instead, you should remove the fragment tag and add the map fragment dynamically in onCreate(). Typically this is done with a FrameLayout but I think it will also work with a RelativeLayout.
For more information, see the Fragment Developer Guide.

Why are my Fragments appearing on top of each other?

I have a main layout of this form
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<LinearLayout
android:id="#+id/fragment1"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="vertical">
</LinearLayout>
<LinearLayout
android:id="#+id/fragment2"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="vertical">
</LinearLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
And I am doing FragmentTransaction calling .replace() on both of them to invoke two Fragments that use the following XML:
Fragment1.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:orientation="horizontal"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:baselineAligned="true">
...
</LinearLayout>
Fragment2.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:orientation="vertical"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content">
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
android:id="#+id/recycler_view"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
</android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView>
</LinearLayout>
Why are the two fragments appearing on top of each other? I want Fragment1 to appear directly above Fragment2, which has a RecyclerView.
Edit: Replacement code:
fragment1 = Fragment1.newInstance();
fragment2 = Fragment2.newInstance();
FragmentManager fragmentManager = getChildFragmentManager();
FragmentTransaction fragmentTransaction = fragmentManager.beginTransaction();
fragmentTransaction.replace(R.id.fragment1, fragment1, "fragment1");
fragmentTransaction.replace(R.id.fragment2, fragment2, "fragment2");
fragmentTransaction.commit();
This is because you put two layouts inside CoordinatorLayout. CoordinatorLayout behaves like RelativeLayout. Try this instead.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<LinearLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:orientation="vertical">
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/fragment1"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"/>
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/fragment2"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"/>
</LinearLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
You can import fragments directly to activity's layout:
<fragment
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
class="com.packacge.Fragment1"/>
<fragment
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
class="com.packacge.Fragment2"/>

Custom MaterialSearchView Displayed Under Toolbar in a Fragment

I'm using a custom MaterialSearchview, and my project is as the following :
Layouts:
MainLayout
FragmentSection Layout
Codes :
MainActivity
SectionFragment
In the MainActivity there's a Drawer library, i have 6 sections, only one of those fragments has a Search icon, so here's my problem .
In main layout i have a toolbar and a fragment :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
tools:context="com.abohani.ramadantime.MainActivity">
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways|snap"
android:minHeight="#dimen/abc_action_bar_default_height_material"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light" />
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/fragment"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true"
android:layout_below="#+id/toolbar" />
</RelativeLayout>
As you can see, the fragment is under the toolbar, so when the transaction is made, the Search shows under the toolbar, why ?
because i'm adding the searchview in my fragment layout, and i'm repalcing the MainLayout #id/fragment with my fragment layout, and that fragment view is under toolbar => Searchview shows under .
What do i need ? i'd like a help to fix this, a different logic on it ?
Here's my fragment layout :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
android:id="#+id/rel"
android:orientation="vertical">
<com.lapism.searchview.SearchView
android:id="#+id/searchView"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
/>
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
android:id="#+id/fav_rv"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
/>
<TextView
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:id="#+id/no_match"
android:visibility="invisible"
android:layout_centerVertical="true"
android:layout_centerHorizontal="true" />
<include
android:id="#+id/loading_layout"
layout="#layout/loading_progress"/>
</RelativeLayout>

ViewPager is cut off

I have a TabLayout, below a SwipeRefreshLayout containing a ViewPager (each page has a RecyclerView). I used to have the SRL in each page fragment but now changed it so I only have one which is way more convenient.
For some reason the ViewPager gets cut off and I'm unable to scroll all the way up to the top of the RecyclerView.
Does anyone have a solution for that?
Here are my layout xmls:
activity_main.xml
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:id="#+id/main_layout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
tools:context=".MainActivity">
<android.support.design.widget.TabLayout
android:id="#+id/mainTabLayout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:background="?attr/colorPrimary"
android:elevation="6dp"
android:minHeight="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar"
app:tabGravity="fill" />
<android.support.v4.widget.SwipeRefreshLayout
android:id="#+id/mainSwipeContainer"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.v4.view.ViewPager
android:id="#+id/mainViewPager"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="fill_parent"
android:layout_below="#id/mainTabLayout" />
</android.support.v4.widget.SwipeRefreshLayout>
</RelativeLayout>
the fragment layout:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.v7.widget.RecyclerView
android:id="#+id/mainRecyclerView"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_alignParentLeft="true"
android:layout_alignParentStart="true"
android:layout_alignParentTop="true" />
</RelativeLayout>
Replace your RelativeLayout by a LinearLayout in your activity_main.

Relative layout always seems to work for only drawer layout or frame layout, both child doesn't work together

I have a relative layout in which i have two child .one is drawer layout and the other is a frame layout in which i have used a fragment .The problem is when i keep drawer layout in the top and the frame layout in the bottom,drawer layout doesn't work and if do the opposite,frame layout doesn't
this is my relative layout
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android "http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<include
android:id="#+id/toolbar_actionbar"
layout="#layout/mtoolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content" />
<FrameLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_below="#+id/toolbar_actionbar">
<fragment
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:name="com.example.rohit.newmastervocab.FloatingFragment"
android:id="#+id/fragment2"
android:layout_alignParentStart="true"
tools:layout="#layout/fragmentfloating"
android:layout_alignTop="#+id/drawer"
android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal|bottom" />
</FrameLayout>
<android.support.v4.widget.DrawerLayout android:id="#+id/drawer1"
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent" android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_below="#+id/toolbar_actionbar"
android:layout_alignParentBottom="true">
<ListView
android:id="#+id/drawerlist1"
android:layout_width="240dp"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:entries="#array/navigation_items"
android:background="#F3F6C8"
android:layout_gravity="start">
</ListView>
</android.support.v4.widget.DrawerLayout>
</RelativeLayout>
Mike M. is absolutely right: you need to keep FrameLayout as one of the Children of DrawerLayout.
I've updated your XML a bit, take a look:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<android.support.v4.widget.DrawerLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:id="#+id/drawer_layout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
tools:openDrawer="start">
<RelativeLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar_actionbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:popupTheme="#style/AppTheme.PopupOverlay" />
<FrameLayout
android:layout_below="#+id/toolbar_actionbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<fragment
android:layout_gravity="center_horizontal|bottom"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:name="com.example.rohit.newmastervocab.FloatingFragment"
android:id="#+id/fragment2"/>
</FrameLayout>
</RelativeLayout>
<ListView
android:id="#+id/drawerlist1"
android:layout_width="240dp"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:entries="#array/navigation_items"
android:background="#F3F6C8"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:layout_gravity="start"/>
</android.support.v4.widget.DrawerLayout>
Now drawer works just as expected and Fragment is stick to the bottom|center of the screen.

NavigationDrawer behind MapFragment

[SOLVED] I added this to MainActivity XML file:
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/place_map_here"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_width="match_parent"/>
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/bugfixview"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:background="#android:color/transparent"/>
and where I changed the fragments:
mapFragment = new FragmentMapView();
android.app.FragmentTransaction ft = getFragmentManager().beginTransaction();
ft.add(R.id.place_map_here, mapFragment, "map");
ft.commit();
Edit: Just realized that I do not use the MapFragment xml file.(older build did sorry)
I´ve changed my Fragment to a MapFragment and now my NavigationDrawer slides in behind the MapFragment :(
Code:
MapFragmant xml ( removed code)
MainActivity xml. Here is my drawer declared
<RelativeLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
tools:context=".MainActivity" >
<android.support.v4.widget.DrawerLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:id="#+id/drawer_layout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
tools:context=".MainActivity" >
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/main"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent" >
</FrameLayout>
<ListView
android:id="#+id/drawer"
android:layout_width="240dp"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:layout_gravity="start"
android:background="#333"
android:choiceMode="singleChoice"/>
</android.support.v4.widget.DrawerLayout>
</RelativeLayout>
I hope this is the information you need to be awesome like always and help noobs like me :)
Try this hack it might help you, just change your layout to something like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<LinearLayout xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:orientation="vertical" >
<FrameLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="0dp"
android:layout_weight="1" >
<android.support.v4.widget.DrawerLayout
android:id="#+id/drawer_layout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent" >
<!-- hack to fix ugly black Background with maps v2 -->
<FrameLayout
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#android:color/transparent" />
</FrameLayout>
</LinearLayout>
DrawerLayout needs to be the root of your layout, so try deleting the RelativeLayout. I assume you are attaching your MapFragment to the FrameLayout, main.
Also, what api version are you on? I've noticed some weird graphics bugs on api<10 including black borders and black flashing backgrounds with both map fragments and drawers.
we can solve NavigationDrawer going behind MapFragment by using view just below map fragment in the layout.
eg -
<FrameLayout
android:id="#+id/root"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent" >
<fragment
android:id="#+id/map"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
class="com.google.android.gms.maps.SupportMapFragment" />
<View
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:background="#android:color/transparent" />
