I created Expandable List View for navigation drawer. it is working but when i select any item from it then it will close the drawer but when it has some Sub Items on that then also it will closing the drawer.
i.e. i have drawer like this
**Home**
**payment**
**delivery**
**order --> pending order --> complete order**
**exit**
when i select Home then it is working fine but when i click on order then it will close the drawer..
i want like when i click on order then the drawer remains open and when i select sub item then it will close.
here the complete code is as follow :-

i refer many tutorial for it but not find my problem.. please help me out from this.
mDrawerLayout.closeDrawer(mDrawerListView);
set this line of code at the end of your group and child selection method.
drawerLayout.closeDrawer(mFragmentContainerView);
return retVal;
close the drawer inside your listener.

I have succesfully implemented the navigation drawer in my MainMenu.class activity. In my navigation drawer, I have the following rows (Home, About, All reminders, Text reminders, Photo reminders, and etc). I am able to switch to their different respective activities from rows 2 onwards (e.g. from About onwards). The problem is, no matter what i do, I am unable to make the Home proceed to my intended Activity (e.g. I want to go to the MainActivity.class activity upon clicking on Home).
Here are my codes for MainMenu.class:

On click of home button write below code so you can go to main activity.
Intent main= new Intent(mContext, MainActivity.class);
main.setFlags(Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_SINGLE_TOP|Intent.FLAG_ACTIVITY_CLEAR_TOP);
startActivity(main);

I read through a few other articles that mentioned the ActionBar needs to be SupportActionBar but that threw up even more problems when I changed the imports over on both Java files. Quite possible that I've made a mistake there as well though.
Error:
Caused by: java.lang.NullPointerException: Attempt to invoke virtual
method 'void android.app.ActionBar.setDisplayHomeAsUpEnabled(boolean)'
on a null object reference
you are getting this error because your ActionBar is null.
You should change
public class EditFactFind extends FragmentActivity
to
public class EditFactFind extends ActionBarActivity
or
public class EditFactFind extends AppCompatActivity
Use AppCompatActivity if you are using latest appcompact library.
and also change ActionBar actionBar = getSupportActionBar();
I'm developing Android application that uses fragment. The menu list will be appear when you click the top left menu icon. After clicking a menu item, it creates a new Intent and start a new Activity that also uses fragment with the same menu order. The problem is when the new activity started, it will immediately call the Intent of the first menu item. I don't want to change the order for each activity but I want the app only switch to other activity when user click on a menu item. How to make program like that?
For example, if this is the onSectionAttached method of Activity1. It will immediately switch to MainActivity when Activity1 started. How to make the app only switch to MainActivity if user click on the menu?

Remove onSectionAttached logic.
And keep it only onNavigationDrawerItemSelected or whatever your callback is called.
There are lots of question which are similar to mine but I couldn't find any solution in those answers.
My program first shows a splash screen than comes to a log-in screen. After the user logs in I want to call the navigation drawer because my main screen and profile screen are in the navigation drawer as a fragment. So basically iI am trying to call a fragment which is a part of navigation drawer, from an activity.
Here is how I try to call the fragment;
private void loguserIn(User returnedUser){
userLocalStore.storeUserData(returnedUser);
userLocalStore.setUserLoggedIn(true);
Intent intent = new Intent(this,userprofile.class);
startActivity(intent);
}
But when i call this method it force closes.
Here is the userprofile fragment;

I don't know what is the main cause of this so tried to put everything that is involved in here.
I think this should work for you.
DrawerLayout mLayout = (DrawerLayout) mNavigationDrawerFragment.findViewById(R.id.drawer_layout);
mLayout.openDrawer(mLayout);
You cannot call a fragment with Intents. An intent is an abstract description of an operation to be performed. It can be used with startActivity to launch an Activity.
You can call your fragment with
ExampleFragment fragment = (ExampleFragment)getFragmentManager.getfindFragmentById(R.id.example_fragment);
To put the fragment in your activity, use this method in your oncreate of your activity:
if (savedInstance == null)
{
getFragmentManger().beginTransaction().Add(R.id.container, new ExampleFragment()).commit();
}
where R.id.container is the ID in your activity layoutfile of the placeholder in which you want to place your fragments.
I n my application I am using navigation drawer and action bar. I want to use these both almost in all activity of application.
