Dynamically adding RecyclerViews to a LinearLayout does not increase the height

I am trying to add many RecyclerViews dynamically to a LinearLayout depending upon the x coordinate of a 2-D array (Set). All the children of each view are not visible (it appears on scrolling the view).
In short, making the RecyclerView's height to WRAP_CONTENT is not stretching the height of RecyclerView.
I want all the children of all the RecyclerViews to be visible and not let any RecyclerView to be scrollable.
Following is the table_layout which I add dynamically:

I add table_layout to activity_main dynamically.
Please tell me how to make the RecyclerView WRAP_CONTENT?

The problem was with ScrollView. Changing it to NestedScrollView solved the problem.

Android ExpandableListView not showing

So I have a ExpandableListView in my layout, but for some reason It is showing only some part of it when I run the app. Yes, it's "some" part - actually almost the enture first GroupView.
If I set a fixed height to the list at android:layout_height="some dp", instead of android:layout_height="match_parent" I can see the whole list. But, If I have too many group view's and child view's, again, I can see only some part of it (as the height is fixed).
I've tried to put the expandable list inside a LinearLayout, have tried to set android:layout_height="wrap_content", and so on, but without success.
How can I solve this?

Layout not visible on Android

I've a SwipeRefreshLayout. If the user haven't streams I want to show the error page, else the RecyclerView.
The RecyclerView works fine, but if the user haven't streams, the error page is not showing.

You can control the visibility of the views by adjusting
the visible property.
There are three possible states:
VISIBLE,INVISIBLE and GONE (does not consume space in the layout).
eg.
// no error
errorView.setVisibility(View.GONE);
recylverView.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE);
// if error
errorView.setVisibility(View.VISIBLE);
recylverView.setVisibility(View.GONE);

You can also set the property in the layout xml file.
probably it would make sense to set the error view to "GONE"

Listview not scrolling

I have a listview that holds expandable cards. Each card is 2 frame views, one for the un-expanded view and one for the expanded view. In the expanded view I have another listview - that doesn't scroll. Can anyone tell me why? Here's some code:

I'd never use wrap_content in the layout_height nor layout_width, it causes performance issues, as you may read here. Also setting a static width/height is not a good idea as it may lead to layout issues in several devices.
Said that, I always define my ListViews like this:

android:id="#+id/who_list"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="0dp"
android:layout_weight="1"
android:scrollbars="vertical">
</ListView>
Setting your layout_weight within a LinearLayout with just this view inside it, you make yourself sure that ListView will have a good layout rendering and it will enable scrolling when needed.

How can I create a 50/50 vertical layout with stacked GridViews?

One of my DialogFragments implements two equal-sized GridViews, one stacked on top of the other. Ideally, my layout would look like this (as seen in Android Studio):
Unfortunately, when I load up the layout on an actual Android device, I get something like this:
When the Kanji GridView is empty, it's completely invisible. Additionally, its height varies depending on the number of elements it has to display. How can I force the bottom GridView to fill 50% of the height as per the layout seen in Android Studio, even when it's empty?

Change the '0dp' layout_height on your two LinearLayouts to 'match_parent'.

You're missing a weightSum attribute on your outermost LinearLayout:

Tested this as working on device (assuming your EntryDetailsHeader style sets match_parent width and wrap_content height).
