How to see a Google map in 3D mode? - android

I'm creating an Android/iOS app with React Native and I want to show street in 3D mode, the
same as screenshot 2.
How can I do that?

Native google map for iOS (objective-C), android (Java), and airbnb map, too, they have "3D-map" feature by default, of course!
Besides, it actually depends on the zoom-level that you will see the buildings in 3D (but you also need to make the map "inclined" - by using 2 fingers and move forward/backward to see the sides of the buildings ^^)

Indoor Android Map

I would like to map a building (one from my University) and navigate through it using just the phone.
No wifi/gps/bluetooth. I will give the coordinates of my starting position by taping the screen or something similar (I can also use the user feedback for detecting the floor).
What should I use to create the actual map of the building (floor map)?
Could you give me some starting points/resources or describe how you would accomplish this task?

Following your description I think the best solution would be using magnetic localization.
Basically you would read Earth's magnetic field with the corresponding sensor and navigate the place with said data.
There are third party services that provide this kind of computation, like IndoorAtlas. You can use their android SDK and set up the navigation system by uploading a map of the building and running an initial mapping of the magnetic readings with your phone.

Add 3D object to map and pan around it

I am trying to make a Pokemon GO clone (educational work) and I know there are several possible ways to style the Google Maps using layout tricks or MapBox. My biggest challenge is to add a 3d object/model to the map and using gestures to zoom and pan around my character.
Somehow the camera should be fixed to the object (marker?) and panning/zooming should be disabled on the map but the gestures should rotate the camera around the character. I was wondering if someone can shoot me in the right direction on how to implement such feature using the native Android SDK and Google Maps/MapBox
Since Pokemon GO is not using Google Maps, I am wondering how they implemented their own map stuff, but this is outside the scope of this question.
(I am not looking for a paid solution such as here.com or nutiteq )
Mapbox Android SDK doesn't currently support 3D object, In this use case, i'd recommend using Mapbox alongside Unity instead which is made for these purposes. Here's a great blog post showing off how to do this.

How do I disable 3d buildings with Google Maps Android API v2

I recently started using the Maps Android Api (V2) and am integrating with a custom tile overlay. I am successfully able to add overlay images, however they look goofy when super-imposed over a 3d building. I would like to be able to turn off 3d buildings globally or for specific buildings so that my tile images do not interfere with the 3d images. What is the best way to accomplish this?
It seems they changed their behaviour again to disable showing 3D Buildings:

It looks like Google corrected the problem. 3d buildings no longer show up when I draw an overlay on top of them.

Any way to change the Map used by Google Maps API in Android?

I'm trying to make an Android application that will display a map of a local area only (a big building and surroundings), and I want to know if it's possible to take the Google Maps API and modify the map it's using to be the map I made myself.

The same way you implement 2D games: draw it yourself, probably using the Canvas 2D API.
It is possible that there is a third-party library for handling this. For example, you might peek at the OSMDroid code, as that is open source and handles map tiles coming from OpenStreetMap. In theory, one should be able to create a general purpose "map" widget with pluggable tile sources, where the widget handles pan, zoom, etc.
I note that you have the app-inventor tag on this question -- App Inventor is going to be incapable of doing this any time soon.

How do i implement falling pins animation for markers in android map view

Is there any way to implement falling pins/markers animation for google maps in android like that in iPhone ???
Android has overlay markers (see ItemizedOverlay) that make it easy to add images to maps, BUT note that, in my experience at least, animated images do not work when added to overlays.
I found it necessary to add a View on top of the MapView, and add imagery to that, and I've successfully added animated drawable images to the map using that approach. For more details see here:

But to be honest, you should remember that it's Android, and copying every little feature from iOS is unnecessary. Google Maps on Android doesn't use a pin marker, it uses a static blue spot - I'd say it's best to replicate that and remember your users are Android users, not iOS users - they want consistency across Android apps.
