I'm trying to find a good library that download files like images, .css or even video (.avd). I found Glide for the images but if possible I would like a library that do both. Do you know a good one ? Thank in advance :)

I have found Is there a way to decode a .ICO file to a resolution bigger than 16x16? from 2 years ago and the best suggestion was to use image4j. Unfortunately it does not work under android in particular (also), because the classes "IndexColorModel", "BufferedImage" and "WritableRaster" are not available.
While working around "BufferedImage" by replacing it with "Bitmap" may perhaps work and not using "WritableRaster", but instead setting individual (or a group of) pixels using setPixel may work as well, I cannot manage to replace "IndexColorModel", because I cannot wrap my head around it.
I am currently downloading a favicon from a website, which stores usually more than one image inside of it. The images are of different size. I read up on the structure of ICO files and analyzed image4j as much as I could. Yet I have troubles refactoring the various classes to not use AWT.
BitmapFactory is able to load ICO files; unfortunately it only loads the first image (this is my guess at least) and thus does not let me decide which image to load (let alone load them all and let me chose).
Does anyone know if anything changed from 2 years ago and/or would anyone be willing to help me refactor e.g. BMPDecoder from image4j? Or is there perhaps a totally different, easier approach to it?
I have created a library based on image4j that will allow reading ICO files into a List of Bitmap-objects. In contrast to image4j ico4a does not use any AWT-classes, but instead only makes use of Bitmap / Bitmap.createBitmap.

While the library's performance might not be the best as it uses a Bitmap-object's setPixel method in a loop, it gets the work done and it's good enough for me.
In comparison to image4j my library (ico4a) only decodes/reads files. While saving ICO files could be done probably relatively easy, I have not done so since I do not need it myself.

I'm developing an Android application (a game). Users can download the apk from Google Play. I want to add some more XML layouts and some images to the existing apk in an update. But XML layouts and other images are supposed to be stored in github.
How to add these XML layouts and images to the existing apk? Do I need to use a recompile mechanism using a third party library? What is the optimum method?

Maybe I'm being a bit slow, but I can't find the equivalent of CaptureFromFile for grabbing video frames one by one from a file in OpenCV in Java on Android.
Can anyone put me out of my misery please and show me where to look?

OpenCV does not support video reading/writing on Android yet.
Take a look at solution in here. Also, it seems like Open CV is available thrue Android NDK, here you may find how to use it. In addition, you may take a look at Processing, which i believe supports Open CV and able to export code as apk.
I'd like to use basic images like the ones in the menu of the alarm application. Are these images integrated in the Android SDK ? I didn't find any way to access them.
If not, do you know a good free library ?

if you want to use image of android system then you can use that all image which are in android's system..
you just need to write android.R.drawable and you will get all image ...

Look in your android-sdk folder, you will find folders for each version of android including all the system images. You can copy the images you need to your own ressource folder and use them from there.
Is it possible to write custom metadata to an JPG image using Android SDK or some 3rd party lib , and extracting it afterwards? If it is, is there any simple solution?
