I needed to move my sdk folder because the path didn't use to allow it run
Then it is in C:
But the sdk manager doesnt open in xamarin anymore
nether in the windows menu...
Do I need move it again?
How can I solve that?
Google removed the GUI for SDK starting from version 26. If you're using version 26, try downgrading to version 25. Remember that you can still open the SDK from Android Studio.

Alternative
You can use an open source GUI interface based on sdkmanager.bat: B4A Sdk Manager
It can be useful for any developer who doesn't use Android Studio.

I want to run my app in Android Studio. But I can't create virtual device. I see this massage:
"No System image available. Are you connected to the internet?"
And I'm connecting to the internet.
Problem is from my Android SDK Manager. It should be like this:
android sdk manager
But for me is like this:
I should install Android SDK Platform_tools but there is not in list. How can I solve this problem?
You are using from an old version of Android Studio and It is a feature that gone deprecated in version 2.3! (Standalone SDK Manager)
Download latest version from here
and use Preferences > Android Sdk to download Sdk and platform-tools etc.
I am using eclipse all the time. I want to study android studio , and downloaded android studio and sdk. When I run the sdk manager , only android 7.0 was installed. The new sdk manager has a few differences. I don't know how to download android 5.0 packages?
Run sdk manager and you will see something like this:
You can check any android version you want here and by clicking apply and ok, it starts downloading.
If you don't want the whole package for each android version, you can click the show package detail checkbox on the button right of this window and see details of each package like below image:
Here you can check any subpackage you need and then click apply and ok.
It is also possible to copy and paste platforms, build-tools and other modules you need from your eclipse sdk to android studio sdk. Or set in your android studio preferences to use eclipse sdk.
You should launch the standalone SDK manager to have access to available packages.
Your SDK path is D:\Android\SDK.
Use explorer to open that directory then launch sdk manager.exe.
Now you have access to available packages.
It is also possible using android studio itself. check sdk tools and sdk update sites. Available packages can be found there too.
I inadvertently accepted android studio's upgrade suggestion to 2.3 (canary), although I had always had it set to check for the developer channel, not canary, somehow that got switched. Now I no longer have a 'Launch Standalone SDK Manager' option in my 'SDK Manager' window.
I liked the standalone manager for various reasons, including that it suggested what needed to be downloaded and upgraded. The regular sdk manager lists a lot of things I expect I don't need like 'CMake', 'LLDB', 'Constraint Layout for Android', 'Solver for ConstraintLayout', 'Google Play APK Expansion Library' ('Google Play APK Expansion Library rev 3' is already installed, so do I need this too?), etc.
Is the standalone sdk manager unavailable for 2.3 canary 2, or is there something more I need to do to get it?
I also have updated to the Canary version 2.3 and I'm amazed that they took it away there.. but you can still start it via the SDK Manager.exe located in your sdk folder
C:\Users\You\AppData\Local\Android\sdk
Present:Today when i was trying to launch, the terminal says, The android command is no longer available.
For manual SDK and AVD management, please use Android Studio.
Past:
I also face the problem after updating to Canary version 2.3 on my mac.. On Mac or Linux, open a terminal and navigate to the tools/ directory in the location where the Android SDK is installed, then execute android sdk
or for only mac user go to folder located in
/Users/your mac account name/Library/Android/sdk/tools
and double click android to Launch Standalone SDK Manager
My Advice: Stop Searching for Launch Standalone SDK Manager and get use to be of android studio SDK manager and just choose the Show Package Details for more detailed description like Launch Standalone SDK Manager.
With the 2.3 Canary update, when using SDK Manager.exe or tools/android.bat, no manager is opened. However tools/android.bat give a pretty good answer to why it is not working:
The "android" command is no longer available.
For manual SDK and AVD management, please use Android Studio.
For command-line tools, use
tools\bin\sdkmanager.bat and tools\bin\avdmanager.bat
We can still use command-line tools, but no more standalone SDK manager.
Yes, "Launch Standalone SDK Manager" option in Android Studio V2.3 is not available, But you can still start it via SDK Manager.exe located in your sdk folder.
c:\Users\You_User_Account_Name\AppData\Local\Android\SDK Manager.exe
Enjoy Android Studio with new features.
I just received an official response from AOSP -
Project Member #1 uchid...#google.com
deprecated feature , please check latest stable version Android 2.3
The link is now gone, and it is intentional.
Yes the standalone sdk manager option is missing in Android Studio 2.3. Get yourself used to the sdk manager available in Android Studio settings.
Also if you are installing Android Studio from scratch, you will not be available to find Sdk Manager.exe from C:\Users\You\AppData\Local\Android\sdk or anywhere you install it.
In a Visual Studio 2015, Xamarin, Android SDK, jdk 1.7, and emulator are installed and Xamarin has all green checked items in tools>options>Xamarin. But When I try to create Blank App (Android) VS shows an error:
Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Then new project fail to create and solution explorer will be empty.
How could I solve it?
I solved it with updated Android SDK setup (API Level 19 and 21) [3rd party] to Android SDK setup (API Level 22) [3rd party] in Visual Studio setup.
I had the same problem and when I installed Android 4.4.2(API 19) from
Android SDK Manager the issue got resolved. You can open Android SDK Manager in
VS2015 with Update 2 by navigating to Tools-> Android->Android SDK Manager
I figured out this...
Depending on the emulators you want to use with the new project, subject to what is installed using Android AVD, you will need to download the necessary API Level.
Example.
I looked up my emulators.
Then I simply opened Android SDK Manager and downloaded the corresponding API Level 19
And everything worked out well
I also encounter this problem on Visual Studio 2015 Update 2 with Xamarin.VisualStudio_4.0.3.214, but I solved it by installing level 19, 21, 22, 23 through Android SDK Manager.
I struggle with this same problem for a whole day but I got it resolved after several iterations.
Make sure Android Studio is not installed on your computer. If it is, uninstall it and run the VS2015 installer again until all Android SDK errors go away.
Make sure VS2015 is closed and install the most recent stable version of Xamarin for Visual Studio 2015. I found it here: https://store.xamarin.com/account/my/subscription/downloads. (Trying to install it through VS2015 didn't work for me under Tools -> Android -> Settings -> Xamarin for Visual Studio Updates.)
Make sure you have Java SDK version 7 installed on your machine (do not use 8 even though its the latest). You also must use the 32-bit version even if you have a 64-bit machine. This was key!
Install the Android SDK. Standalone version, not Android Studio + Android SDK.
Install the Android NDK.
Restart your computer and open VS2015. Go to Tools -> Android -> Settings and set the correct paths to Android SDK, NDK and Java SDK.
You should be good to go with creating a new project. You are all welcome!!!
I have an option grayed out that I must complete to progress with a project. It says that
No system images installed for this target.
This answer is for Eclipse, but I'm not sure if there's an Android Studio equivalent:
Unable to create Android Virtual Device
It is exactly the same answer. You need to download an image for the target SDK. So, open the SDK Manager and you will find a system image for the Android L API Level 20.
You can open the SDK Manager from the Tools Menu -> Android -> SDK Manager
You will see all Platform Tools, System Images, Documentation, etc. nested and grouped by API Level...including the Android L Preview
The Target Version you are selecting you have only installed platform files for this version you have need to install image of that version also.
You can check and install it through Android SDK manager.
Do the following steps:
Open Android SDK Manager. Check selected version and check "ARM EABI...." file for that version is installed or not. If not then install it and try again.
