I'm building a react native module, from my module I send a PendingIntent like this.

If I modify the MainActivity then I can receive data inside onNewIntent() method. The class looks like this...

I had this same issue and fixed it by calling super.onNewIntent(intent) from MainActivity:
#Override
public void onNewIntent(Intent intent) {
setIntent(intent);
super.onNewIntent(intent);
}
With this in place, onNewIntent is called in your module - assuming your module implements ActivityEventListener and you've registered it as a listener in the constructor:
reactContext.addActivityEventListener(this);

From an Android Service, I would like to call an Activity method, but only if the Activity is in the foreground.
I would like nothing to happen in case the Activity is not in the foreground.
Which is the simplest way to achieve that?
From a Service always better to broadcast events if the activity is listening to that broadcast will respond. If the activity is not listening then nothing will happen it will ignore.
This is the better solution than the one which you have asked.
I found a very simple solution, adapted from this previous answer:
On the Service:

You can do this using a Interface just to check if the activity is in background or in foreground.

In my Application I have to notify my Activity from IntentService class .
For that purpose I am using LocalBroadcastManager. But I am not receiving anything in the onReceive of my Broadcast Receiver. Here is what I have written.

An IntentService is designed to stop itself only when all the requests present in the work queue have been handled.Android stops the service after all start requests have been handled.
I want my activity class to receive an intent from broascast Receiver (example START_TALKING, STOP_TALKING). And when I receive that intent, I want to check what action was being passed. How can I do this. My receiver is in separate class, it's public.
