Image doesn't appear when placing it in a card view

I am loading images from firebase and loading them into card tiles in a staggered recycler view. I want the width of the photos to be consistent and match parent, and the height to change depending on the height of the photo.
I am not sure what am I doing wrong but the images don't show. I can see a thin line where the photo should be, kind of seems like it is the photo but it had like a 1px height, just a horizontal line.

If this not help then check below things are perfect in your project or not:
1) implementation 'androidx.cardview:cardview:1.0.0' make sure you added dependency.
2) Try to change drawable and check your layout.
If still you are facing issue then let me know.

try changing

android:src="#drawable/no_dread"
in your Imageview, it works to me

use a container view like RelativeLayout or LinearLayout as the first child in the card view. Then you can place the content in that layout anyway you want.
Example

I think you'll want to set the scaleType to fitCenter and adjustViewBounds to true:

How do I make my recyclerview taking all wrap_content, when its available, but shrink down, if not?

I am sitting a long time to get my layout working. There should be an EditText on top. A RecyclerView after that. An ImageButton after that. At the bottom of the activity should be a Button. This looks fine. There is a Space between the ImageButton and Button which has height=0dp and weight=1. Rest has height=wrap_content.
When I open up the keyboard, the RecyclerView keeps being full-sized. This doesnt look fine. I want it to make space to let the Buttons fit on the screen. It should be like that
I tried to make the RecyclerView height=0dp too, but then the Space doesnt work as it should. Their height would depend on each other weight. When I remove the Space and try to get the Button to the bottom while Recyclerview has height=0dp, it would fill the entire free space, so the ImageButton would stick to the Button instead of to the end of the list.
If I would put the ImageButton as the last element of the RecyclerView, it wouldnt be always on the screen when the List is too long.
Layout-XML-only solution would be appreciated.
#edit: My layout breaks completely when I add more items. This should be fixed with the same approach.

Add linearLayout below listView doesn't work

This is not working on my phone but I can see it in the Android Studio Design mode window. I need to place a LinearLayout or any view actually just below the listView. But I can't see it, only the listView fitting the whole height

Set android:layout_below="#+id/list_view_local_detalle" for LinearLayout
Note : If you'r using weight for vertical linear layout then height must be 0 dp and if using for horizontal linear layout then width must be 0dp.

Android Landscape mode cutting off my last EditText

I've got a problem in my application.
My layout contains:

Four EditText
When I change the emulator in landscape mode the ScrollView goes to the third EditText. The last EditText is not displayed in landscape mode.

It looks like ScrollView does not respect the margin of its child. This behavior has been noted in
Android ScrollView not respecting child's bottom margin
Scrollview doesn't scroll to the margin at the bottom
Scrollview extends beyond screen bottom
The workaround is to wrap your LinearLayout in a FrameLayout, ie.

This is slightly inefficient, since it uses an extra ViewGroup. If you are able to do so, the more efficient solution would be to use paddingTop on your LinearLayout instead of the layout_marginTop, ie.

Change linear layout height to wrap_content

Android - ImageView overlay another ImageView

I would like to make an ImageView overlay another ImageView like this; only half of the circle green is overlaying the image:
I have tried using RelativeLayout and put both ImageView inside. Then I overlay the circle over the image by using android:layout_alignBottom. It did overlay the but I have no idea how to set the offset so that only half of the circle is overlaying the base image.

Use layout_marginTop = -20dp ( Half of your image size ). It will go up.
android:layout_marginTop="-20dp"

put both the image in Relative layout
first define the image you want to put behind the green circle
than define the green circle as
android:layout_alignBottom="#+id/Image1"
Than adjust the position by giving margin to the green circle image.

I recommend you to use a framelayout with these two images.
with the refresh imageview at the bottom and the table fan at the top.
Note : As the framelayout behaves like a stack, the item at the bottom will appear at the top.
And do the set the gravity of the refresh icon to be bottom|center to make it look this way.

- I change circle imageview height to 40dp and then i give margin top -20 dp so that image will overlay half as you need on background image.
