How to add hint for an imageview - android

I need to add hint text for next and previous Image View in android app,how can i do it.There is no attribute like hint in image view.
I have 2 images and need to show hint when user tries to click on those images

Starting with Android API 14+, there is an event for hovering. You can do,
view.setOnHoverListener(...)
and listen for MotionEvents such as ACTION_HOVER_ENTER and ACTION_HOVER_EXIT, instead of onLongClick.

Adding image in a text field in flutter

I want to add images in a text field/text form field in flutter. Whenever the user clicks the first button in the bottom navigation bar, the app will ask to pick an image and the image will display in the text field.
Like this:-
How Can I add one? (I am not talking about emoji)
ANY HELP OR IDEA WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
You can use RichTextEditor using rich_text_view plugin to support stylized text. Another option here is by using flutter_markdown to render images from Markdown.

Android - Custom EditText for Odometer Entry

I'm building am app that will allow Odometer entry. I would like to use the image shown below as the background on an EditText. Doing that is no problem, however I can not seem to get the digits entered into the text view to line up in the spaces of the image. I've tried adjusted the text size, font face, etc.
Here is the image I would like to use...
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can accomplish this? So that when the user entered digits into the EditText, each digit goes into the correct "slot"?
thank you!!!
You can use android:letterSpacing? (only applies api 21 and over)
Set up 6 separate EditTexts on top of that image each with dimensions of the square they need to go into. Then set up event handlers so that it appears to be one fluid motion across EditTexts when the user enters data. Not very elegant but it'll work.

Change the value in a view on keeping a button pressed

Framework: Android
I have a TextView where I would like to change the text on keeping an ImageView pressed.
Note: I am not referring to changing the text on clicking the view, but on pressing the view and on the amount of time that it is pressed.
e.g. I press the image and the text becomes 2. Keep it pressed for another half a second and the text becomes 3.
I haven't found a similar question yet, yet if you have, please redirect me. Thank you.
Make use of OnTouchListener and run your number changing algorithm in ACTION_DOWN

showing text and image both while displaying list of applications in android

i want to create a home screen application where the applications looks like carousel , and i am able to do it . The problem i am facing is that in my application only the applications icon are getting displayed the text is missing in it , where as my requirement is that i want to both the icon and text to be displayed together.
my application displays same as the above showing image.
i want text to be combined with it as above image.
please help me.

So the simplest thing to do would be to create a Compound Control. This compound control would essentially be a LinearLayout with both and ImageView and a TextView in it. Then, where ever you use a CarouselImageView in your code, just use your new compound control instead.

you can use setAlpha method of imageView class to do this.
imgView.setAlpha(90);
http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/resources/drawable-resource.html#StateList
Thats the link for adding images to show different state of buttons. You create a xml file for this and set this file as the background for the button.
