I am writing Android application using DataBinding by referencing https://developer.android.com/topic/libraries/data-binding/index.html.
But while building my project, It is showing an error in generated class as
> '/databinding/DataBinderMapper.java:10: error: constant expression
> required.'
This error is happening in switch statement inside generated class DataBinderMapper.java (This file is an auto generated file for databinding)
Any one knows the reason for this java switch case error happening in Auto generated buld file?

I found the reason for this issue is, layout reference created in R.java file is not final for this case.
For example, in my case layout reference in R.java is
public static int activity_main=0x7f04001c;
Actually it should be
public static final int activity_main=0x7f04001b;
But I don't know the reason for this happened and how to change it to final.
Probably your model that you are binding against has final modifiers in its variables.
This error happens when your project has dependency with library or external plugin apart from application.
The reason for this issue is, the ids generated might clash when you have dependency with multiple library/ plugins.

I have an .aar third party library that I want to use in Xamarin Android. So I created a new Android Bindings Library, added the aar-library and changed the Build action of the aar file to LibraryProjectZip like described here: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/xamarin/android/platform/binding-java-library/binding-an-aar
Nothing else was changed and I would expect the project to compile and generate a dll file.
Instead I get a lot of errors saying Error CS0542 'xy': member names cannot be the same as their enclosing type.
When I jump to the origin of the error, I find the errors in generated code by Visual Studio with the classes looking something like:

I cannot modify the source code of the library.
What can I do in order to build the Binding Library successfully?

The solution is Renaming Members.
So in my case the Metadata.xml in die Binings Library would look like the following:

I am receiving an exception at runtime as follows.
"No realmobject. Has linker stripped them...."
My solution includes a PCL, Android and IOS project with Visual studio Mac and the realm package 1.6.0 installed in each project. I've also checked that Fodyweaver.xml includes the correct reference and all packages have th same version.
When I have the PCL included in the same folder as the solution (i.e like the default multiplatform solution with PCL) everything works ok.
However I moved the PCL project which includes all the realm logic to a separate folder so I can use it across multiple solutions. My solution now includes the PCL from this external folder and the iOS and Android project also reference the realm packages. the app compiles fine but when I run the application it now receives this exception on the first call to use realm.getinstance.
If Input the PCL project back into the same folder as the main solution as originally created it works fine.
can anyone advise a fix for this ?
I've solved the issue now. Firstly I had applied the solution from #sushhangover, but it didn't work straight off.
After some investigation I discovered the compiler was not weaving the classes and realm objects into the library at all.
I simply loaded the library independently of my main solution, removed and reloaded realm packages and Fody, cleaned it all, rebuild All. and then I could see the fodyweaver working properly. I then added the reference back into my main solution and it all works .
This is the same issue I have when placing my RealmObject models into a separate library (PCL or NetStd) as I use a Viper architecture and I share the same model across multiple solutions.
When Realms.Realm.GetInstance(....) is called the Realm initialization assumes the RealmObjects will be in the same assembly or that the assembly containing is already loaded, but they are not in this case. You can tell this is the case as a compiler warning is issued in the assembly build (via the Fody processing) that is calling GetInstance but that does not have any RealmObjects in it:
Warning: Fody/RealmWeaver: Default schema appears to be empty. This is not an error if you don't have any RealmObject inheritors declared. Otherwise it may be a bug with the weaver. (GeneticCancerSelectors)
So I add a static class to my Realm model library:

I have a MonoDroid application project (let's call it mainApp). This references app.Screen project, which is a MFA library project. Initially, my activities were in the mainApp project. Everything was working fine. I needed to put some Activities (and resource, drawables, etc) in the app.Screen project.
I have moved all the resources I need to the app.Screen project. It builds fine and in my activities (which are sitting in app.screens) I can access Resource.Layout.filename and even Layout.Id.name.
However, when I run the application, in SetContentView(Resource.Layout.filename) I get the wrong layout file . This causes FindById<Button>() to return null obviously because it does not have these buttons in this layout file.
I found that same Layout file has different Id in my MFA library project than what is in the mainApp project like this:

I am using VS 2010 with MFA 4.0 and my projects are targeting Android 4.0. I have tried Clean & Build, Removing /Bin and /Obj folder, with no luck.

This appeared to be a bug in MonoDroid, here is the link to the bug in Xamarin bugzilla
This is caused by the Resource.Designer.cs in the MFA library project has a different ID (int) values than what the main project has in its Resource.Designer.cs file.
I have worked out a workaround for it. In my mainApp I manually call mainApp.Resources.UpdateIdValues(); and that would update the Resources id values in the other MFA library projects
Xamarin said that this bug was resolved in 4.6.4. I have not tested this fix though
Iam trying to bind a jar(zubhium sdk jar) file to my mono droid project. I have followed their guide on xamarins website and created a new binding project which I reference I my mono droid project.
I am having some issues with package names. I get the following error:
Error 3 package com.zubhium.interfaces does not exist
com.zubhium.interfaces.ZubhiumListener
C:\Users\jbp\Desktop\ny\CmsApp.Droid\obj\Debug\android\src\mono\com\zubhium\interfaces\ZubhiumListenerImplementor.java 8 25 CmsApp.Droid
from the genrated source:

And that is because when the project is wrapped it automaticly adds mono(.com.zubhium....) to the package name. I cant find how to remove this mono or if i can set a rule to add this part.
I tried to put <attr path="/api/package[#name='com.zubhium.interfaces']" name="managedName">mono.com.zubhium.interfaces</attr>
in the xmldata.xml file but that did not work.
Do you guys have any sugestions?

When you bind a .jar library and reference the binding project from another project, you need to also add the .jar to your Application project and set its Build action to AndroidJavaLibrary.
Failure to do so means that the .jar won't be added to the javac $CLASSPATH, resulting in javac compilation errors when compiling the Android Callable Wrapper (as you saw), and that the .jar won't included into your final .apk. Both of these are Badâ„¢.
And that is because when the project is wrapped it automaticly adds mono(.com.zubhium....) to the package name.
That's for an "Implementor" type; you can ignore it. It's used as part of the implementation of events. If you look at the generated C# code, there should be:

The mono.com.zubhium.interfaces.ZubhiumListenerImplementor is the ACW for the internal ZubhiumListenerImplementor type.
You can't rename this type; it's an internal construct that isn't controlled via metadata.
I'm trying to use Android annotations framework because it seems quite powerful. I'm quite stuck to configuring my first project based on it.
I followed every step of the wiki but it doesn't generate any file after a build.
So when I ask for a generated class from the manifest:

I get an exception:

My activity is exactly the same one as in the wiki:

EDIT: Just found out a directory ".apt_generated" is made but it's empty after the build.

First, I have a few questions :
Which IDE do you use : Eclipse, Netbeans, IntelliJ ? Which version ?
Do you use Maven, Ant, or only your IDE to build the project ?
Your problem may be due to a few things : annotation processing not triggered, a bug in AA, or the files generated in a folder not part of the classpath.
In Eclipse, you may get more information from the "Window > Show View > Error Log" view. If annotation processing is triggered, you should see some messages about AndroidAnnotations.
For other people who are running into this and the leading answer doesn't work, run a build and then search for the file androidannotations.log somewhere in the project. This log file is generated and may hint at what is wrong.
For me, it had a warning message that it could not locate AndroidManifest.xml. Though this seemed like just a warning, it was actually the cause of the error... Not finding my AndroidManifest.xml file resulted in it not generating some of the classes it should have.
Check if you have the xml file. If not, the solution is obvious. If you do have it, the typical reason AA cannot find the file is because it is in a non-standard location -- AA recursively checks the parent directories above where it generates files for this xml file and will fail if it's not there. In my case, my AndroidManifest.xml was located in [project root]/app/src/main which is not a direct ancestor folder so that was the problem.
You can specify where your xml file is in your project build.gradle:
