I am trying to start using ConstrainLayout, but find it difficult to use. I have a layout for setting like screen, and it is using LinearLayout and RelativeLayout, very simple and easy to implement. Here is the layout:

As you can see, the Switch buttons are not aligned with the TextView. How can I align them with the TextView on the same line level, so it will look the same as the one I did with LinearyLayout and RelativeLayout? I know I can put the TextView and Switch button in a RelativeLayout for each line, but if I do that, there is no reason to use the ConstrainLayout.

Question is, It is possible to use the second layout as background of the first?, I mean, to use the ImageView below all the EditText and TextViews of the first layout, even integrating the ImageView on the first layout can work as a solution, but I don't know how to make it to be on the background and below all the other objects.
First you can include the imageview directly as background of login layout. Otherwise if you want to use second layout as background for any layout you can use <include tag in android xml.
Simply set your root layout to FrameLayout in which layout you want include background layout.

Make sure to configure your layout according to your requirement because LinearLayout does that automatically, but in RelativeLayout you have to do it on your own.
I am new to android studio and had earlier used layout_alignParentBottom="true" and other alignment commands which worked well.

At the extreme end of the cde there is a button which I a trying to align but alignment is not working

so if you need to reach center for reset button with linearLayout, use

I've tried making the parent a relativelayout without success and it won't align to the bottom either. Initially I thought the layout wasn't filling the whole screen but since its height and width are match_parent I don't think that's the problem. in android studio it is displaying correctly though so I must be missing something small.
I also tried using the gravity and layoutgravity parameters and a combination of the two but without success

If setting the xml in an AlertDialog, it's possible that there is a space allotted at the bottom. I google and found this alert_dialog.xml for reference. It seems that there is a buttonPanel at the bottom with a minimum height of 54dip.

Thanks to ank I was able to figure out that the reason why the RelativeLayout didn't fill my screen is that I used it in an alertDialog. So RelativeLayouts parent isn't the screen but the alertDialog. Since an alertDialog wraps its content it doesn't fill the entire screen.
I want to allign the checkboxes in a list view to right most part of the screen.

But When i run this i get the output as checkboxes right next to the textview
Found mistake.. its in mainactivity.. i have put the the width of listview as wrap content instead of fill parent
Use RelativeLayout for ChechBox Section and Add android:layout_alignParentRight="true" .Try this way ,Let me inform .
Okay,You can set 2 Textview and ChechBox on same row using layout weight (Linear Layout). And set gravity,layout gravity right for ChechBox.

I've tried using,
android:fillViewport="true"
but of no help.
A ScrollView is a FrameLayout, meaning you should place one child in it containing the entire contents to scroll; this child may itself be a layout manager with a complex hierarchy of objects.
So here you have to take LinearLayout or RelativeLayout and then you have to put different hierarchy of component.

If ScrollView fits to your device screen it would not be scrollable, so make sure content inside ScrollView takes space larger than your screen size.
