I'm working on mac and my Android Studio (3.0) freezes when take screenshot of device from logcat. Just freezes and can't do anything finally force Android Studio to quit. I couldn't find anything about this issue around. Is there anyone else who faces this issue?
I faced the same issue and android studio was freezing for me when ever I try to take screenshot of take video recording, then I tried this.
When ever you take screenshot either camera or video.
When the dialog in android studio shows destination where it will save your file, change it to any other folder/location then pre-selected one.
Now click on save. It will save and work fine.
I tried the above and its working fine.

I restarted my phone when suddenly this showed up:
When I take a screenshot it is not included, this picture was taken using the webcam of my laptop. Anyone knows what it is and how I can remove it?
App Crash on Android Tablet and when ever tried to open it again it open a blank black screen there after. This is happening with android debug build.I have tried to replicate the issue on simulator and it didn't happen. Please let me know if any clues about this issue. Is it something related to inefficient memory usage or something else. Is there any tool I can use to narrow down this issue. This is not happening on IOS devices and even Android Phones.
I've been working on a project with ARToolkit for Unity. I built it to Android APK. I then installed it to my Xiaomi device. When I run the app, it does the following :
It pops out a small square camera on the upper left corner
It shows unity animation text as usual
It then goes black forever
I've already set the permission for the app to access the phone's camera. How can I solve this matter?
Do I have to do something to get the phone's camera working? I am newbie by the way so don't go harsh on me.
Notes : I've tried to build another scene without ARToolkit to Android APK. It worked just fine and no black screen.

Just a guess... ARToolkit for Android on startup attempts to contact a web-server on the Internet to download camera parameters. I've noticed if your phone does not have Internet access, you'll see a black screen for quite a while (at least 30 seconds I've seen) until the HTTP request times out. You can see this if you run Android Studio studio and view the logs for your app. Unfortunately at the moment there appears to be no switch to turn this off. See:

I am facing an issue with taking screen images (screenshot) in the Nexus 4 running android 5.0.1. I tried pressing the Power button + Volume Down simultaneously, however the volume starts to lower. This feature used to work for me before I had upgraded to 5.0.1. Anyone else is facing an issue this like?
I also wanted to know is there any way I can use the ADT to capture the screenshot? ADT SHELL screerecord can be used to capture the video similarly is there any way I can capture the screenshot?

You can take a screenshot by following way
(under Window
--> Show View
--> Other...
--> Android
--> Devices).
Click on the device or emulator you want to take a screen shot of, then click the "Screen Capture" button . Occasionally the device won't immediately load the picture; sometimes you have to close/reopen the screen capture window.
This is equivalent to taking a picture via DDMS, but you can do it in Eclipse instead of opening another application.
I restarted my phone and the + started to take screenshot. This is weird!

as already told in the title, I have an issue regarding the preview tool of Android Studio.
As I install the program, all works fine. I can create layouts and previewing them without any trouble. The problem comes when I restart my computer. Every time, the preview tool disappears (grey unselectable menu option and no other buttons to activate it around) and I can't manage to make it work again, unless I re-download Android Studio and I re-update the SDK. It's really annoying, because it's difficult to project a layout without restarting the computer, looking at what you are doing or loading it every time on the phone.
I've attached a screenshot, can anyone help me? Does anyone know a solution?
