I am working on a scenario similar to web usage of WhatsApp. I want to scan a QR code on browser from inside mobile app and authenticate the user to login.
What would be the best way to send the authentication message in QR code? I am planning to use JSON as I need to send few string fields? Also, I plan to do base 64 encoding and decoding. Is it a good way to do it? Does anyone know how WhatsApp is doing it?

I am currently designing a mobile application for a sports organisation that needs to display player information, results and upcoming fixtures, the organisation is currently using sporty hq to display all of this information and I was curious if anyone has any ideas on how to pull this data into my application
They have already implemented the API . So, just register to get a token and pass parameters.
Following is a PHP sample but you can send the same parameters in Android via a network library such as Retrofit .

For creating server you have to use any backend language like PHP will be very comfortable for beginners.
You can refer php MySQL connection with Android using volley or any Http connection in Android.
You can refer to www.androidhive.com and search for above for better understanding.

I am new to android programming, i just need to store an integer on a server, so that my app can consult and update the value of that int. I listen useful suggestions of more experienced android developers whether if i need a server or there is a simpler solution.
Thanks!
For what purpose you want to store int on server .
If you want to store int within phone , you have different techniques for that

I have a wordpress website that I want to create into a native app for Android. What are my options for getting content from the site?
I have looked into XML Parsing of the RSS feeds, and JSON API/JSON Feed. The api for JSON said it is outdated and possibly not working on new versions of wordpress websites.
What is my best options?
I need to get the post Title, Image, and Text.
Maybe you can benefit from WordPress for Android project source codes: http://android.wordpress.org/development/

We have a web application which will be browsed from Android Tablet/iPad. We are trying to get the signature from the user. What is the best way to capture the signature?
If it's a web application like you say, you can utilize Thomas J. Bradley's Signature Pad jQuery Plugin to do the trick, which will record the signature in a JSON structure for later retrieval.
