How to use Espeak in my Android app? - android

I tried to do what the instructions say here: https://github.com/rhdunn/espeak#android But as I am in Win10, and use Android Studio 2.3, don't know how to do these things in Windows? (Isn't there any step-by-step instructions for windows?)
Building with Gradle
Set the location of the Android SDK:
$ export ANDROID_HOME=<path-to-the-android-sdk>
Build the project:
$ ./autogen.sh
$ ./configure --with-gradle=<path-to-gradle>
$ make apk-release
This will create an android/build/outputs/apk/espeak-release-unsigned.apk file.

Building Ionic app on UBUNTU for Android fails with exit code 2: Failed to find 'ANDROID_HOME'

I am using Ubuntu 14.04 version and im trying to work with ionic.
The error comes when I try to:
$ ionic start todo blank
$ cd todo
$ sudo ionic platform add android
$ sudo ionic build android
And I get the following error:
[Error: Failed to find 'ANDROID_HOME' environment variable. Try setting setting it manually.
Failed to find 'android' command in your 'PATH'. Try update your 'PATH' to include path to valid SDK directory.]
ERROR building one of the platforms: Error: /home/kelvin/Desktop/todo/platforms/android/cordova/build: Command failed with exit code 2
You may not have the required environment or OS to build this project

I know there is alot of sites with a answer to this question, but none of them gave me a fix. Or maybe they did, but I didnt understand it. I tried on this site building-ionic-app, but that didnt work either.
I followed this tutorial by Nic Raboy, and its still not working.
Install Android, Cordova, and Ionic Framework in Ubuntu.
So let me explain what I did and maybe that is helpfull to fix my problem:
I started with this guide: Ionic Framework Guide
To install Cordova, make sure you have Node.js installed, then run
Install Node.js
$ sudo apt-get install -y nodejs
$ node -v
v5.0.0
Install Cordova
$ sudo npm install -g cordova
Follow the Cordova platform guides for Android and iOS to make sure you have everything needed for development on those platforms.

I followed this guilde:

My computer is 64-bit and since im using 14.04.
Step 2: install libgl1-mesa-dev:i386 package.
$ sudo apt-get install libgl1-mesa-dev:i386
Step 3: Install openjdk-6-jdk or better, openjdk-7-jdk
$ sudo apt-get install openjdk-7-jdk
Step 4: Download the Android SDK or the ADT Bundle from here and unzip it to wherever you want.
Then I follow step 4 on techtach Complete Guide
$ wget http://dl.google.com/android/android-sdk_r20-linux.tgz
$ wget http://dl.google.com/android/adt/22.6.2/adt-bundle-linux-x86_64-20140321.zip
Then I unzipped the adt-bundle and copied the folders from SDK -> /home/kelvin/android-sdk-linux/
The folders are: build-tools,extras,platforms,platform-tools,system-images,tools.
Then I executed the following command to install latest android updates
$cd ~/android-sdk-linux/tools
$sudo ./android
And installed
Android SDK Tools (24.0.2)
Android SDK Platform-tools (20)
ANDROID SDK Build-tools (19.0.3)
SDK Platform
ARM EABI V7a System Image
Android Support Library
And then open bashrc
$gedit ~/.bashrc
And added the following lines.
export PATH=${PATH}:~/android-sdk-linux/tools
export PATH=${PATH}:~/android-sdk-linux/platform-tools
export ANDROID_HOME=~/android-sdk-linux/tools
Checking if it is right:
$ANDROID_HOME
bash: /home/kelvin/android-sdk-linux/tools: Is a directory
Create the project & Configure Platforms
$ ionic start todo blank
$ cd todo
$ sudo ionic platform add android
$ sudo ionic build android
And I get the following error:

And now im kinda lost. I found a forum where they have the same problem: ANDROID_HOME is not set... and one of the guys suggested.
I finally solved it. It was on my users path but not the root users path. I have to run these commands as a root user. I had to edit my root users .bash_profile file.
and one of the others tells how:
In Ubuntu, do all the commands also root
sudo su
gedit ~/.bash_profile
export ANDROID_HOME=/root/Android/Sdk
export PATH=${PATH}:$ANDROID_HOME/tools:$ANDROID_HOME/platform-tools
But a third guy said this is a bad idea, so I didnt do it.
I can run the following command:
$ionic serve
And it runs in the browser, but I cant run for android.
I just read your question and it seems you followed the correct way.I faced the same situation during installation process.
The proper set up an Ubuntu machine for Ionic Framework Android development has many steps.Now there are a ton of options to handle this task, but not many bare bones solutions. Most solutions on the internet explain how to use an IDE, or fail to elaborate a complete installation.
After a research,I have found a nice tutorial by Nic Raboy.I followed this tutorial and everything is fine now.

Developing a Qt app for Android from the command line

I would like to compile and deploy on an Android device a simple helloworld program written using Qt purely using vi/emacs and the OS X command line, without using QtCreator or Android Studio.
This page describes how to fill in values for ANDROID_SDK_ROOT, ANDROID_NDK_ROOT, etc, before compiling Qt5. I have in the past used QtCreator to compile for Android without having to compile Qt itself, and I'm now wondering whether it's possible to use a command-line toolchain to do the same.
The steps I've taken so far are:
Installed the Android SDK.
Installed the Android NDK.
Installed Qt5 by sudo port install qt5-mac.
After this last step, I duly see /opt/local/share/qt5/mkspecs/android-g++, which suggests that the first step ought to be qmake -spec android-g++.
Have you successfully compiled on OS X and deployed to Android a Qt project from the command line without having to compile Qt itself?

Running sudo port install qt5-mac on OS X appears not to install Qt-for-android. Download instead qt-opensource-mac-x64-1.6.0-8-online.dmg. Mount/run. Click until Select Components. Make sure Android armv7 is selected.

Can i build Linphone in Android Studio on Mac?

I think we can build it. But I am getting error to build it on Android Studio. First I download the Android Studio and NDK. Then add the PATH of Android Studio and NDK to the PATH Variable. When I run
./check_tools.sh
I get the output
Could not find automake. Please install it.
Could not find autoconf. Please install it.
Could not find pkg-config. Please install it.
Could not find ant. Please install it.
Could not find yasm. Please install it.
Could not find wget. Please install it.
Could not find libtoolize. Please install libtool.
Invalid version of nasm: your version does not support elf32 output format. If you have installed nasm, please check that your PATH env variable is set correctly.
Failed to detect required tools, aborting.
But i doubt whether i need these tool on Android Studio or not. When I run the project i get the error
java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Couldn't load linphone-armeabi-v7a: findLibrary returned null.
Can anybody tell me the solution for that.

Then install ant by typing
brew update #update if already installed

Now if the Path is already setup you can simply run
$ make
Now connect your Device to you Mac and see if eclipse has detected it. After the device is connected run:
$ make install
Now if everythink is OK:-
After you have made your build then now you can import it into your Android Studio.
Open Android Studio
Import Project (Eclipse,ADT,Gradle,etc.) > select linphone-android > OK

You definetely need these tools to build linphone.
Concerning nasm I had the same problem. You can use this site that instructs you how to upgrade to a newer nasm:

Concerning other useful tools you can install the tools below with this command:
$sudo port install coreutils automake autoconf libtool intltool wget pkgconfig cmake gmake yasm grep doxygen ImageMagick optipng antlr3

How to create Android App with Cordova 3.4

Since yesterday, I have some problems with Cordova and Android. I can not create an functional Android App. iOS works.
In detail: I use a Mac (MacOS X 10.8.5) and have installed ADT 22.6.2 (with API 17/18/19) and added the sdk-tools to my PATH.
$ echo $PATH

What is going wrong? There is no directory „gen“.
If I try to import the project into ADT/Eclipse, I got the message:
Errors occurred during the build.
Errors running builder 'Android Resource Manager' on project 'XY'.
Errors running builder 'Android Pre Compiler' on project 'XY'.
Path must include project and resource name: /XY
and
/XY/gen already exists but is not a source folder. Convert to a source folder or rename it.
Eclipse generates a folder called „gen“, but it is empty.
EDIT: Here is what I tried based on the input given in answers and comments:
I have installed Node.js and Cordova 3.4:
$ node -v

$ cordova -v

$ ant -version

I have done this as you described with CLI.
The Android SDK is in the system path:

Everything seems to be all right. Do you see any mistake? Do I need Apache Ant?

It takes a very long time . . . after 15 minutes I broke off. The log at Eclipse shows always returning the same messages.
But with
$ cordova run android
I am able to install and launch the app on my Android-device. But if I try to import the project into Eclipse, the file XY.java is shown with many errors.
Do you have any idea what could be the problem?
I am still able to work with my existing apps (iOS and Android), but I can not create a new one for Android.
I am sharing with you the steps to create android PhoneGap app with cordova 3.4 version :-
1) Download and install Node.js.
2) Run this command on your terminal :-
$ sudo npm install -g cordova
3) Then create your project using following command :-
$ cordova create hello com.example.hello HelloWorld
4) Then before adding any platform , run the following command....Replace the path of android sdk with your system path :-
$ export PATH=${PATH}:/Users/taruna/Documents/adt-bundle-mac-x86_64-20131030/sdk/platform-tools:/Users/taruna/Documents/adt-bundle-mac-x86_64-20131030/sdk/tools
5) Now add your platform using following command :-
$ sudo cordova platform add android
6) Now you can successfully run your project on emulator using following command :-
$ cordova emulate android
And its done now.

Issues building tess-two via osx command line

I am currently attempting to build tess-two for an OCR android application via command line as instructed on https://github.com/rmtheis/tess-two. This is done on my macbook, OSX 10.9.4.
In order to build tess-two, this must be typed into command line:
$ 1git clone git://github.com/rmtheis/tess-two tess
$ cd tess
$ cd tess-two
$ ndk-build
$ android update project --path .
$ ant release
I encountered a problem as soon as I enter:
$ android update project --path .
This is the error displayed:
-bash: android: command not found
I have spend many hours trying to remedy this, and so far nothing fruitful has come of it. I appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.
This means the android command is not in your PATH. Try typing which android. It should give you the location if it is within your PATH.
Usually android can be found in your SDK directory under tools
You've got two options:
run the command with your_sdk_path/tools/android update project --paht
add android to your PATH with
export PATH=$PATH:/your_sdk_path/tools
You must have downloaded Android Development Toolkit bundle first. https://developer.android.com/sdk/index.html?hl=sk#mac-bundle
Then add /sdk/tools to your path.
