Can't install android sdk on ubuntu - android

I want to install Android studio. I've downloaded Android studio and installed it using Install Android Studio. When I run ./studio.sh it opens the window and says that Android SDK is installed and doesn't let me to install it (the checkbox doesn't work).
So I click next and finish and the it says:
Nothing to do!
SDK tools directory is missing
So I click Finish and then Start a new Android Studio project and says:
Your Android SDK is missing, out of date or corrupted.
Then I Open SDK Manager and I can't do anything there (Shown in the image bellow)
If I click the Edit button, I have the same messages as above.
I've also checked the connection in HTTP Proxy tab and there's no problem in connecting to dl.google.com or any other website.
What should I do?

Although proxy settings were correctly set but still the problem was with the connection. I set up a VPN using openconnect and tried again and everything worked as expected

Android Studio SDK Installation Failed

I am trying to install Android Studio in Mac OS 10.12.3
I downloaded Android Studio v2.3 for mac.
It installs successfully, but when setting up for the first time, it always shows this error.
An error occurred while trying to compute required packages.
On clicking finish, i get
Failed to determine required packages
When i try to open SDK Manager, all options are disabled and it shows [this][3]. Even if i click on set sdk location, it gives me the same error as before.
I searched a lot in stack overflow and tried many suggestions, but nothing worked till now.
Things i tried:
Changed proxy settings, and added *.dl.google.com, *.dl-ssl.google.com in bypass proxys.
In android studio preferences, changed it to 'Auto Detect Proxy Settings'
Disabled Tunnelblick (i use it for VPN).
Deleted ~/.android everytime before trying
Changed permission to selected SDK folder to 777
Tried to run installer with sudo
Different SDK installer location
Once you've failed the install, click Finish (I believe twice) to get to the Android SDK launcher. Click on Settings -> Appearance & Behavior -> System Settings -> Updates and change the Update Channel to "Canary Channel".
Close out of the SDK and relaunch the Android Studio. It should go forward w/o issue.
Ok, after a lot of search, and asking for help, i found something. Maybe it can help someone else.
I still didn't figure out what was the problem, but i got a workaround.
Since android studio couldn't install SDK, i used homebrew to install android-sdk separately, and then linked that folder as ANDROID_HOME and then set that path in Android Studio SDK, and it worked.
There was some more problems i faced in updating SDK Tools, but updating from command line did the trick.
Now all works fine.

Android Studio AVD Manager button is disabled

I'm very new to Android development and have never used Android Studio before. I set it up, got my app working on my phone and left it alone for a few weeks. Upon returning, I could not find the Android Studio executable on my computer, so I reinstalled it and restarted on the same project.
Not sure if this has to do with the AVD Manager button being grayed out. Things I have tried:
Making sure my SDK path is correct
Running Android Studio as administrator
Launching the AVD Manager executable from windows. I can create a virtual device but doesn't affect disabled AVD Manager button when restarting Android Studio.
Installing Intel X86 Atom System Image and Google APIs in SDK Manager, under API 24.Everything under API 25 is installed.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you!
This generally happens when Android Studio is not able identify the android sdk installation in the machine. This could happen if Android Studio is launched in non-Administrator mode.
Just close and relaunch Android Studio in administrator mode. You will see a saying "android framework is identified" Click on the configure link on that notification. The AndroidStudio will start configuring the android sdk. After some time the buttons would be visible and enabled.
If you tried running the Android Studio in administrator mode and it still do not work for you try the following way.
Delete the .idea folder in the project
Re open the project from going to File->Open Recent->
Then you will be asked to convert the project
Click convert
For anyone seeing this problem following the React Native tutorial make sure to click the "Configure" button in the Event Log next to the log text that reads "Frameworks detected: Android framework is detected in the project"
This action seems to be what configures the project to be an Android project.
I'v solved this issue by updating gradle.
It is simple
The only thing that worked for me was that I clicked in Androidstudio in the top right on SDK Managar.
And there under android sdk it was so that there was no path entered. and it was also so that NO Check box was checked below.
So I had to first click in the top right on Edit thereby was written to me the path pure.
After that I had to select a chack box below it no matter whiche and sometimes it must then just install something. When it has finished installing click OK. It may be that you then have to close and open android studio again.
I was having this issue on a new machine running MacOS High Sierra.
After installing Android Studio and the most recent SDK/
SDK Tools, I was unable to create any AVD from Android Studio (button greyed out, no option under Tools) or run the AVD Manager any other way.
I tried the same things the OP had done, then noticed I was getting the following error: Gradle sync failed: Failed to find Build Tools revision 26.0.2
From the Event Log I followed a link to download the Build tools and now it works!
If you are working on Flutter, Follow the steps:
Open Settings in Android Studio (CTRLALTS)
Search Flutter
Check may path of Flutter SDK is not available.
Set the path and press OK.
Done! Thank you
I tried the answers here, but the only solution for me was to restart my machine and it fixed itself. It happened after upgrading AS (from 4.0.2 to 4.2.2)
in android studio or intellij program:
goto tools > android > SDK manager
click on Edit (android SDK location)
click next and next
close dialog
its ok.

Android SDK Installed, but adb.exe Missing

After my Visual Studio install suddenly lost the ability to deploy my Xamarin app to an android emulator, I decided to uninstall EVERYTHING (Visual Studio, Xamarin, Android SDK) and start over.
Everything has been re-installed, but the Android SDK does not include the adb.exe file. The place where I expect to find it is here:
C:\Users\costcopc\AppData\Local\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools\adb.exe
What went wrong? How can I fix this?
I opened a cmd.exe prompt and searched the entire drive (C:>) to find the file - it doesn't exist.
Re-Tracing My Steps
In case it helps, I will retrace my steps...
Uninstalling
I un-installed Xamarin first, according to instructions. I wanted a blank slate so, per those instructions, I also uninstalled:
Android SDK Tools
GTK#
I did not uninstall the Java SDK because, as my very first link explained, I had already used a system restore point to recover a stable version of the Java SDK.
Next up was Visual Studio. I used its installer for the uninstallation, and then I followed the post-uninstall "Secondary installer" instructions it gave.
Re-Installing
I re-installed VS 2015 first, then I launched the Xamarin Studio installer, which in turn installed the Android SDK for me:
With everything seemingly installed successfully, I launched Visual Studio and tried to open the Android SDK Manager with Tools -> Android -> Android SDK Manager.
It worked, but I noticed that a cmd.exe window opened and remained opened, containing a couple strange error messages.
There it is: "The process cannot access the file because it is in use by another process."
Despite the anomalies, I did use the SDK manager to install 4 more packages.
Still, I was feeling uneasy about the error messages so I figured it was time to reboot. After the reboot the situation became worse. Before, Visual Studio was at least able to launch the android SDK manager. Now it was altogether unable to launch it:
That oddball SDK path C:\Users\costcopc\AppData\Local\Android\ANDROI-1 had disappeared!
Xamarin Studio was also unable to launch the SDK Manager:
Now I chose to execute a Xamarin Studio installation "repair." Xamarin acted like the Android SDK was installed, and so it did nothing to fix it.
Again, what can I do to fix this?
I solved this issue by selecting Tools/Xamarin Account in VS 2017RC.
Then the browser opens, go into your account and download and install Xamarin from here.
I'd recommend you installing VS 2015 community ISO from here:
https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=615448&clcid=0x409
after installation, open VS > tools> options > Xamarin , and check that your
SDK is detected successfully:
If something is not detected, then run android SDK manager as administrator then make sure that the SDKs are installed/updated correctly.
just Run visual studio as administrator and it will be solved(map directory up to end folder where actual tool are residing)

Unable to unpack file android-sdk-r22.6.2-windows.zip: error in opening zip file

I want to using the Android studio for develop Android apps. After I installed and run the Android studio this error displayed :
Can you help me?
Unfortunately that is because of sanctions of Google on Iranian users.
In this step Android Studio tries to download android-sdk-r22.6.2-windows.zip but instead of actual file it gets the error page in html format and then try to unzip the html and it leads to generating this error.
Best way is to use a VPN or proxy to change your IP.
We hate you Google. That's All We Know.
To solve this problem you could do this instructions step by step:
run your antifilter for example psiphone;
goto "Default Settings->appearance and settings > System Settings > HTTP Proxy" and set it auto detect proxy settings or Manual proxy configuration on the "Default Settings->appearance and settings > System Settings > Android SDK" click on Edit text;
3.Click on Next
Now your configuration will be done without error.
I had renamed my Android SDK folder due to which this problem occured. As soon as I renamed Android SDK folder back to it's original name, the Android Studio started successfully without showing this error.
This is because Android Studio was not able to find the SDK folder and it was automatically downloading a new SDK.
It happened to me too, and I live in UAE! So I don't think it's related to Iran.
What I ended up doing was just to close Android studio and re-run the setup again and everything worked normally. 🤔
I hope it helps someone out there. 😎
OS: MAC OS X El Capitan 10.11.6
You can simply download the package needed from the Google separately and install it in its default location.
During the setup wizard of Android Studio where it asks for the SDK package to be installed just click the button below and chose the destination folder which you've installed the latest SDK package.
After clicking next it will check and say your SDK is up to date and the wizard will complete.
This method works for people who have access issues regarding filtering problems of Google SDK download links during the setup.

Eclipse does not launch the Android emulator and won't install app

I downloaded the 64-bit SDK ADT bundle from the Android developer website yesterday. I also downloaded and installed the 64-bit Java SDK 6. I've been trying to follow the tutorial on the Android site for building a Hello World app. I can create the app in Eclipse and I can also create an AVD. However when I go to Run as -> Android Application nothing happens. I am able to launch the Android emulator manually from Eclipse but I still can't get the app to install or do anything whatsoever.
There's no errors, no console output, nothing.
If I just click on the Run button I get this error: Path for project must have only one segment
Okay, I found the problem. Under Properties > Run/Debug Settings I forgot to set the project name.
