I wanted to do a demo application of video conferencing using webrtc in android.I found some link for video conference using webrtc but its just for one to one not one to many.
I had the same issue with my video consultation app, if you want to add multiple users to video calling using Webrtc, you have to modify the opensource Webrtc project according to your need, which is not quite easy.
So I have implemented Appear.in inside my Android Webview, which works very fine, I can add upto 8 users in a single room. Its absolutely free of cost until you buy an specific room.
Appear.in also uses Webrtc for their video calling, they have optimized it very well. Video & Audio quality is good.
The only thing, you have to do before rendering the webview, ask Camera & Microphone permission from user(Above 6.0).
Try this, I think it will help you.

=== BACKGROUND SUMMARY===
At this moment, we are using Android VideoView to perform video play black. Everything seems to be working great until we encounter Live Streaming.
VideoView tends to have 10-15 seconds delay from the live stream within a local network (LAN).
While attempting to solve this issue, we came across VLC Embed for Android. After searching on the Internet, it seems there isn't any article compare pros and cons of using Android VLC Embed vs. Android VideoView.
=== QUESTION ===
What's the advantage (pros) and disadvantage (cons) of using Android
VLC Embed vs. Android VideoView?
Is VLC Embed stable?
Anything I should be careful when switching existing VideoView to VLC?
Thank you all in advanced
My view may not be very professional but it's about what I've experienced so far.
First, Android VideoView is good since it comes with the Android SDK so it does not require external library. But this one has some limits. For example, as far as I know, it doesn't support MMS and MMSH protocols and some others I didn't quote. Which is not the case for Android VLC SDK. This library is complete and supports almost all media formats I know so far.
It just increases your apk on size, on my side that's the only disadvantage.
Is the Android VLC SDK stable? Yes it's stable and maintained by a huge community.

You should keep your sources same and care about aspect ratio.
What's the advantage (pros) and disadvantage (cons) of using Android VLC Embed vs. Android VideoView?
Advantageļ¼
More features. VLC supports almost all media formats, hardware decoding. audio tracks, subtitles, chapter are also supported.
More integrated, simpler logic. You can easily get media information and cache them. The playback engine will proactively notify state changes and events, just register player event listening.
Disadvantage:
APK file size increas. If both arm64-v8a and armeabi-v7a are supported, it will increase more than 30MB.
Multiple instances are not perfect. For example, playing 2 videos at the same time is a hassle.
Is VLC Embed stable?
Stable. Starting with VLC 2.0.x (now 3.0.x), I use the VLC library in my Android App. It runs steadily from Android 5.1 to Android 8.0. A small number of 4k h265 video playback is not normal, but can be resolved by displaying "Can not play".

To use LibVLC on Android The Medialibrary(org.videolan.medialibrary) is also required. You also need to note the licenses.
VLC for Android is licensed under GPLv3
This may be a concern for you if your project uses a different license.
We want to create a Live-Broadcasting/streaming platform where anyone can go live on click of a button using his/her mobile camera. The same live feed should be viewable from the native mobile App. To start with, we would like to support live broadcast and viewing live feed from both IOS and Android platforms. We are using Wowza as the media streaming server
UseCase : Lets say sitting at home, I want to show my new home to all my friends. I download the mobile app on Android and start live stream on click of the button. My friends, who have also downloaded the same mobile app, can see my live-stream through their mobile. They can also see some of the VOD Content.
I would like to understand how to play the Live Stream / VOD on native Android App ?
Thanks in Advance :)
OpenMAX for Android will give you the best flexibility & control, however, it's a low level API that mandate C++ & NDK usage, you can also use ffmpeg static libs in the same manner
I have spent enough time searching for a solution but I am not sure which way I should go. That is why I am asking question here.
I want to make an application from where I can record a video and same video will be shown live on any other device connected to the network or it can be on web using JWplayer or some thing like that.
Now I have done enough R&D and we are not considering WOwza server (as it is paid) . So on web side we have already implemented in which web cam in recording video and which can be seen on our web site and also on android and iphone browsers live.
But problem with red 5 is that is does not give support to RTSP (it only supports RTMP) unlike Wowza which handles RTSP internally and convert it into RTMP.
I have found few links who suggested client side RTMP handling what so far no success.
Convert video Input Stream to RTMP
This links explains lot of things but I am not sure which way I should spend my time or it is possible to convert RTSP into RTMP for red 5 server.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=air.Broadcaster
this guy has achieve this functionality I guess but we are looking for the native application.
Please suggest me in the right direction I should go and invest my time live record and watch video stream.
We can use other servers which are open source rather than red 5 , if it fulfill my needs on both iOS, android and web else I ll have to go with wowza which I dnt want for now.
I want to send live video stream from my android device to wowza streaming engine. I am using sample in this blog but I can not see the result on Test Players page.
Do I need to have a web server serving a page with a video player pointed to this video/app on wowza?
I found this little (but very useful) library with three examples: libstreaming
It works like a charm! Easy to install and develop.
Main point is to look at Wowza logs to understand if stream was successfully published or not.
Then, according to logs you will know what Application, Application instance and Stream name are used for publishing.
So you'll be able to set up any player (VLC for example) with those values and look if stream is viewable or not.
Accepted answer is ok. Libstreaming is working (kinda) but it did not fulfill my expectations so that it can be pushed to some production app. Since this question is quite old, i will share mine up-to-date solution (AS 2.1.2 - Marshmallow) which is using JavaCV. I've built boilerplate for android so it can be used in no time.

How to stream live video from android to Wowza via RTMP
i need to make an application that can retrieve and send video using video streaming. but i just do not have any clue how to make it.
what i understand, video streaming is something like when the user want to watch video from the server like youtube, etc. i also want to add on that the application can send the video to the server using android application.
i am using android 2.2. if anyone is willing to give me any keyword i should search for to get to such a tutorial or any tips i should know, that would be a great help.
thank you.
As i tried few months before, android versions bellow 4.0 doesn't support live video streaming from phone to the server :(
you can pipeline capturing and sending chunk of video using Threads, so that it feels like a video streaming having very less delay :)
and for stored media content search for RTSP and related protocols for streaming i hope 2.2 supports this .
