I have an app for daily news, knowledge sharing, etc. In this, by clicking the share button we can share a particular news item with others in WhatsApp/Facebook/Twitter etc. If the other person clicks this URL, different web browsers are displayed to open the post. But I want my app to be listed in this list if the user has installed my app otherwise open in a web browser. How to do this in android?
We are trying to have our Android users rate your app. As we wish to send them a message through Intercom, we are only able to provide them a clickable link.
What we want is have them open up our app's page on the Google Play Store and have the Create a Rating dialog open up directly.
What we don't want (and have answers already on the web) is to take them to our app store page only.
We specifically want the Rate/Review dialog open up automatically / directly after they click the link. What type of link should be provided?
Any help will be appreciated, thanks!
Is there a way to create a link from a responsive website that would open and add an event to the app installed on a mobile phone or tablet?
For example, this event on a responsive website. Whenever the "Add to Calendar" button is clicked on a mobile device, the event needs to be added to an installed app, be it in iOS or Android. Also if there are numerous apps installed like Google Calendar, Outlook, and/or iCal, the device should show a prompt to the user asking what app should be used if there are no default app selected.
I could do this by generating an .ics file on click but that would mean more taps and navigation for a user. Any help or comments would be appreciated.
Thank you.
I'm working on an app which has a share button. On click of share i'll show the standard share screen like below,
I want to know, if it is possible to track if user click on this screen. For example, if user clicks on facebook, i want to know that user selected facebook for sharing.
I want to know, if it is possible to track if user click on this screen
No, unless you create your own chooser activity.
For example, if user clicks on facebook, i want to know that user selected facebook for sharing.
That is only possible if you create your own chooser activity, rather than use the system-supplied one. You can create such an activity using PackageManager and queryIntentActivities().
From this dialog this is not possible. It is possible to put this sharing into the actionbar with a ShareActionProvider.
With ActionBarSherlock this will work on all devices down to Android 2.2. Now you can check wich app was chosen for tracking. Have a look at the ShareActionProviderSample from Actionbarsherlock
I am creating native android application with image gallery.
I want to create a Google plus button for each of my images. When user press +1 I want to publish a post on his wall:
user_name like's image_name on my_app
And I wish that when clicking on this post it will do the follow:
clicking on user_name will bring you to the users page.
clicking on image_name will bring you to my application and show you this image.
clicking on my_app will bring you to my application, main page.
*If you don't have the app installed it will send you to Google play store, to download it.
How do I do this?
Is it possible?
With the new Google+ Sign-In, you can now create an Interactive Post for your users. This behaves much the same as a normal Share, however, you can add a call to action button (allowing users to "listen" or "RSVP") and a deep link, which will bring a user from their Google+ Stream and into your app. Also, these posts can be customized with pre-filled text and up to 10 pre-filled recipients.
