I'm trying to make collapsing title to center by app:collapsedTitleGravity="center" in CollapsingToolbarLayout but actually title not center. I saw suspicious unnamed-view between title and up button
Is it issue form design support lib?
Is there any way to overcome this?
I saw a person who occured like me in here.
Here is screen shot
This is suspicious unnamed-view
Here is activity_main

In MainActivity.java
setSupportActionBar(toolbar);
getSupportActionBar().setDisplayHomeAsUpEnabled(true);
style.xml is
<style name="AppTheme" parent="Theme.AppCompat.Light.NoActionBar"/>
This will resolve the issue.

app:contentInsetStart="0dp"
There is padding reserved so that your title is not next to toolbar icon.
There is an attribute expandedTitleGravity that you can use with the CollapsingToolbarLayout to center the expanded title text. Add this to your CollapsingToolbarLayout
app:expandedTitleGravity="bottom|center_horizontal"

My app has a fragment with tablayout and it shows a shadow with elevation:
<android.support.design.widget.TabLayout
android:id="#+id/my_music_tab_layout"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:background="#drawable/tab_bg"
android:elevation="4dp"
app:tabSelectedTextColor="?attr/color_tab_text_selected"
app:tabTextColor="?attr/color_tab_text"
app:tabIndicatorColor="?attr/color_tab_text_selected"
app:tabIndicatorHeight="4dp" />
But when I switch to another fragment that doesn't have a TabLayout, the shadow doesn't appear:
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:theme="#style/AppTheme.AppBarOverlay"
app:expanded="true" >
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/collapsing_toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed"
app:titleEnabled="false" >
<include
layout="#layout/imageview_appbar"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:layout_width="wrap_content"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax" />
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
android:background="#android:color/transparent"
android:elevation="4dp"
android:minHeight="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:popupTheme="#style/AppTheme.PopupOverlay"
app:layout_collapseMode="pin" />
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
What am I doing wrong?
I got it to work by adding the following codes to my MainActivity class:
AppBarLayout layout = (AppBarLayout) findViewById(R.id.appbar);
layout.setStateListAnimator(null);
ViewCompat.setElevation(layout, 8);
Appbarlayout doesn't display shadow if it contains a scrollable collapsing toolbar, it is hardcoded to act so, probably because of performance concerns.
Try workarounds such as adding a plain view to bottom of appbar and setting its background to a shadow drawable ( manually coded gray gradient )
i am using collapsing toolbar with toolbar only here my purpose
is to use default parallex feature for toolbar,but the problem i am facing that back arrow and title in expanded form overlapping each other i tried to set expandedtitlegravity to bottom didn't work either

</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>

It's seems like, the problem is with the Toolbar.
set app:contentInsetStart in Toolbar i.e.
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
...
app:contentInsetStart="72dp"
It may solve the problem.
I need to reduce left and bottom space from toolbar title in collapsing action bar. I need to do something like whats app. Here is my code.

mBinding.collapseToolbar.setExpandedTitleMarginStart((int) getResources().getDimension(R.dimen.contact_info_expanded_title_margin));
mBinding.collapseToolbar.setTitle("Toolbar title");
I use app support and CoordinatorLayout. I was able to implement CollapsingToolbarLayout with ImageView and Toolbar that hide when scrolling. I am struggled with tabs - TabLayout is not collapsed, which is good. The problem is that it does not look nice - I want it to use bottom part of the picture as background.
I moved TabLayout within CollapsingToolbarLayout and then it uses the picture as background but there are two problems - tabs are located at top of the screen and they are hidden when scrolling.
I want to achieve the effect that it will sit at bottom of picture
and it will stay at top of the screen when other parts are scrolled away

You need to tell your Toolbar to app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways" and your CollapsingToolbarLayout to app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|exitUntilCollapsed" while your TabLayout should have android:layout_gravity="bottom"
Try this:
<android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout
xmlns:android="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res/android"
xmlns:app="http://schemas.android.com/apk/res-auto"
xmlns:tools="http://schemas.android.com/tools"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent">
<android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout
android:id="#+id/main.appbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:theme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Dark.ActionBar"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true">
<!-- Fit the system windows for your CollapsingToolbarLayout
also set your height to wrap_content and give image a height-->
<android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout
android:id="#+id/main.collapsing"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
app:contentScrim="?attr/colorPrimary"
app:expandedTitleMarginStart="4dp"
app:expandedTitleMarginEnd="64dp">
<ImageView
android:id="#+id/main.backdrop"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="244dp"
android:scaleType="centerCrop"
android:fitsSystemWindows="true"
android:src="#drawable/digit1_hill"
app:layout_collapseMode="parallax"/>
<!-- Tell your toolbar to scroll|enterAlways -->
<android.support.v7.widget.Toolbar
android:id="#+id/main.toolbar"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"
app:popupTheme="#style/ThemeOverlay.AppCompat.Light"
app:layout_scrollFlags="scroll|enterAlways"/>
<!-- add layout_gravity="bottom" -->
<android.support.design.widget.TabLayout
android:id="#+id/main.tabs"
android:layout_width="fill_parent"
android:layout_height="wrap_content"
app:tabSelectedTextColor="?android:attr/textColorPrimaryInverse"
app:tabIndicatorColor="?android:attr/textColorPrimaryInverse"
app:tabIndicatorHeight="4dp"
android:layout_gravity="bottom"/>
</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
<android.support.v4.view.ViewPager
android:id="#+id/dashboard.viewpager"
android:layout_width="match_parent"
android:layout_height="match_parent"
app:layout_behavior="#string/appbar_scrolling_view_behavior"/>
</android.support.design.widget.CoordinatorLayout>
Update
Additionally, you should switch your theme or add a new theme:
<style name="NewAppTheme" parent="Theme.AppCompat.Light.NoActionBar">
<!-- Include all items from original theming -->
</style>
and to hide the title create a style:
<style name="Invisible" parent="AppTheme">
<item name="android:textColor">#android:color/transparent</item>
</style>
and then set this as your collapsedTitleTextAppearance:
app:collapsedTitleTextAppearance="#style/Invisible"
I have a title on the left side in a Toolbar and in a CollapsingToolbarLayout. I want to move it to the center horizontally.
Please help me.

android:layout_height="?attr/actionBarSize"

</android.support.design.widget.CollapsingToolbarLayout>
</android.support.design.widget.AppBarLayout>
Set this parameter in your CollapsingToolbarLayout
app:expandedTitleGravity="center_horizontal"
To achieve this, you can get reference to the collapsing toolbar from the corresponding Java class and set the gravity of your title:
CollapsingToolbarLayout collapsingToolbar = (CollapsingToolbarLayout) findViewById(R.id.collapsing_toolbar);
//now that you have access to your toolbar, set the directions.
collapsingToolbar.setExpandedTitleGravity(Gravity.CENTER_HORIZONTAL);
collapsingToolbar.setCollapsedTitleGravity(Gravity.CENTER_HORIZONTAL);
