I recently updated android studio to 3.1.2 version and kotlin plugin to 2.41 and had the android support repository downloaded.
Since then i have been unable to create new projects.when i try to sync the gradle i get these:
-Failed to resolve: constraint-layout
-Failed to resolve: constraint-layout-solver
-Failed to resolve: viewmodel
-Failed to resolve: runtime
-Failed to resolve: livedata-core
-Failed to resolve: common
I sensed the problem may be failing to download from maven so i tried adding lines like:
maven{url "https://maven.google.com"}
but no luck.then i changed the implementation in my module:app gradle file from
`implementation 'com.android.support.constraint:constraint-layout:1.1`
to
`implementation 'com.android.support.constraint:constraint-layout:1.0.2'`
(which was the downloaded version mentioned in my sdk manager)
which resulted in this error:
-Could not find viewmodel.aar (android.arch.lifecycle:viewmodel:1.1.0).
Searched in the following locations:
https://dl.google.com/dl/android/maven2/android/arch/lifecycle/viewmodel/1.1.0/viewmodel-1.1.0.aar
which is funny because when i click on the link above a viewmodel-1.1.0.aar is downloaded!
What should i do to successfully sync the gradle?
Here is the app gradle:

I am trying to create a simple Android application. I have the latest version of Android Studio and i think both my gradle build files are correct.
I have placed
implementation 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-maps:11.2.0'
in app gradle dependencies.
Due to this I get the following error:
Unable to resolve dependency for ':app#debug/compileClasspath': Could not resolve com.google.android.gms:play-services-maps:11.2.0.
I have looked at various links and tried out proposed solutions but none have worked for me.
Below are both my gradle build files.
project build.gradle:
//Top-level build file where you can add configuration options common to all sub-projects/modules.
buildscript {
repositories {
google()
jcenter()
}
dependencies {
classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.0.1'
classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:3.0.0'
// NOTE: Do not place your application dependencies here; they belong
// in the individual module build.gradle files
}
}
allprojects {
repositories {
google()
jcenter()
maven { url "https://repo.situm.es/artifactory/libs-release-local" }
}
}
task clean(type: Delete) {
delete rootProject.buildDir
}
app build.gradle:
apply plugin: 'com.android.application'
android {
compileSdkVersion 26
defaultConfig {
applicationId "demo.situm.situmapp"
minSdkVersion 21
targetSdkVersion 26
versionCode 1
versionName "1.0"
//testInstrumentationRunner
"android.support.test.runner.AndroidJUnitRunner"
}
buildTypes {
release {
minifyEnabled false
proguardFiles getDefaultProguardFile('proguard-android.txt'),
'proguard-rules.pro'
matchingFallbacks = ['release', 'debug']
}
}
}
dependencies {
implementation fileTree(dir: 'libs', include: ['*.jar'])
implementation 'com.android.support:appcompat-v7:26.1.0'
implementation 'com.android.support.constraint:constraint-layout:1.0.2'
implementation 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-maps:11.2.0'
//testImplementation 'junit:junit:4.12'
//androidTestImplementation 'com.android.support.test:runner:1.0.1'
//androidTestImplementation 'com.android.support.test.espresso:espresso-
core:3.0.1'
}
//apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-services'
Hope you can help.
Thanks,
Kabir
try this i found:
Failed to resolve com.google.android.gms play-services-auth:11.2.0
Add maven to your root level build.gradle file
allprojects {
repositories {
jcenter()
maven {
url "https://maven.google.com"
}
}
}
This maven repo is required starting from 11.2.0.
Or add google() repository to your "build.gradle" file. This gradle method is equivalent to
maven { url "https://maven.google.com" }.
repositories {
jcenter()
google()
}
i am trying to connect my app with firebase-console.
i follow the instruction step by step.
but when i follow this step,
"The Google services plugin for Gradle contains the google-services.json file you just downloaded. Change your build.grade file to use this plugin."
project-level build.gradle:
buildscript {
dependencies {
// Add this line
classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:3.1.0'
}
}
app-level build.gradle
...
// Add to the bottom of the file
apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-services'
then trying to sync, i got this error
Error(31,0) Plugin with id 'com.google.gms.google-play-services' not found
...
someone can help me fix this?
this is my code now.
project build.gradle
buildscript {
repositories {
google()
jcenter()
}
dependencies {
classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.0.0'
classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:3.1.0'

// in the individual module build.gradle files

androidTestImplementation 'com.android.support.test.espresso:espresso-core:3.0.1'
implementation 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:11.4.2'
}
apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-play-services'
change this:
apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-play-services'
to this:
apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-services'
Simply use the tools option on android studio and select firebox from drop down and connect using the option.
It will automatically add the configurations files

First of all, I've read all other solution posts and So far, none has worked.
and I'm using Android Studio 2.0
Error:
Error:(27, 0) Gradle DSL method not found: 'classpath()'
Possible causes:The project 'Sailu'sFood' may be using a version of Gradle that does not contain the method.

Apply Gradle plugin
here is build.gradle(app) :

compile 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-analytics:8.4.0'
compile 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-ads:8.4.0'
}
apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-services'
here is build.gradle(top level) :
buildscript {
repositories {
jcenter()
}
dependencies {
classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:2.0.0'
}
}
allprojects {
repositories {
jcenter()
}
}
task clean(type: Delete) {
delete rootProject.buildDir
}
apply plugin: 'project-report'
apply plugin: 'application'
It'd really great if someone could point out what's the mistake
Remove this line from app/build.gradle from the dependencies block.
classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:2.0.0-alpha6'
Then you have to move the line in the buildscript block (in the top-level file or in the module file):
buildscript {
repositories {
jcenter()
}
dependencies {
classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:2.0.0'
classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:2.0.0-alpha6'
}
}
