Navigation Drawer, Main activity content is not showing - android

When I add a Button or TextView it crashes. Actually I am new to android programming. I have searched a lot and found that the content of nav drawer activity should be put in content_** folder. In the same way I put a text view in content_main2.xml and it crashes. I put it in the FrameLayout and this time it also crashes.please help me out.

And finally I decided not to use fragments then I saw a tutorial NAV DRAWER on every activity without fragment.I created a new nav activity named test and put a TextView in it.it is working but When I add a button it crashes.

FindViewByID from another layout

I have a problem.
I create a DrawerLayout and I use it as my MainLayout.
For my menu, I create a nav_header with two TextView.
Of course, when I try to modify the TextView, I got a null object reference, because the TextView are from another layout.
How can I setText for the TextView from another layout (specifically nav_header)?
I tried LayoutInflate but the problem doesn't disappear (probably i set things bad).
Can anyone help me?

You are using a wrong method to use the drawerlayout. You could simply use the Navigation Drawer Activity in Android Studio for creating a navigation drawer. Navigation Drawer Layout automatically creates 4 layout files and a Java file for this purpose. I'm adding them right bellow-

Side Navigation Drawer Item click not working

PLEASE READ FIRST
BEFORE ANYONE MARK IT AS DUPLICATE QUESTION BECAUSE IT IS NOT.
I have used Navigation Drawer, Bottom Navigation bar and a custom Action bar.
Bottom navigation bar and action bar are working fine.
navigation drawer also shows menu present under it but the items are not clickable.
I have tried all the answers related to

I was searching for different keywords but landed on this page every time. I had the issue that I could not click the navigation menu items.
I thought it would be easy to find a solution for those who are struggling with this strange behavior which is auto-generated by android studio 4.0 while creating a project with a navigation drawer.

I too had the same problem. Just you have to put the NavigationView in the last part of the XML code.

Secondly, in order for the tabs to work, you need to use a ViewPager Adapater, andd then use tabs.setupWithViewPager().

nav drawer and fragments

I created a NavDrawer Activity with the assistant rather with the tutorial.
Now when I want to open a new fragment it does not replace the main content but prepends it. The textfield should disappear.

Everything is ok with your code, preferences screen is just drawing on top of your old layout.
The solution for this is:
In your content_read
Swap RelativeLayout (this is not necessary, you can just add new framelayout as child to the relative layout) with FrameLayout which will be your holder for fragments
Should look something like this>

same navigation drawer in different activities, toolbar error

I'm trying to develop an app with multiple activities and the same navigation drawer and toolbar.
I've created a BaseActivity for initialization of drawer and other activities extend it, but I have problems with toolbar, in particular when using setSupportActionBar(toolbar).
How can I fix this problem?

You can't use same Navigation Drawer and Toolbar with different Activities.
If you want different screens with the same components, you have to use Fragments with one Activity, for example FragmentActivity.
