Darker Buttons in ListView Item

i've got a Activity with a ListView. I wrote an extra xml-file for the ListView-Item.

As you can see the xml includes two Buttons (+ and -). Everything works fine and the item loads in the list. Also the Buttons are clickable but their color is darker. I set the background to #android:drawable/btn_default_holo_light. They look fine in layout but the Buttons stay darker, when i launch the app.
Let me know if you need more code on this.

The default button background color of Theme.MaterialComponents is defined in your themes.xml file with the attribute colorPrimary eg: <item name="colorPrimary">#color/gray</item> but changing this color will affect all your widgets.
You can use app:backgroundTint attribute to change the button background color like below:

You have to add also the xmlns:app namespace on your root xml View like below:

Why the layout_below is invalid that running on the phone?

This is my layout. My question is that the id is "below_button" LinearLayout is invalid that running on the phone. The phone didn’t display this LinearLayout, but others layout is right. How come?

In my layout editor's Preview I changed the "Theme in Editor" to "Theme"
And I started to get errors like your screenshot.

So, I selected "All" -> "AppTheme" from the "Theme in Editor" option... Do not forget to press "Ok"
And the errors went away:
So, why do not you also try to set it to "All" -> "AppTheme"
Further it appears to me that you might have created style(s) which do not inherit from "proper parent".
Using below example: "AppTheme" inherits all the required attributes from "Theme.AppCompat.Light.DarkActionBar". And thus, you need to only specify the attributes you need modified.

Custom dialog becomes the size of the first control in android

when I create the dialog and setcontentview the width of the dialog becomes equal to that of the image button on the first row
if I remove that , it becomes the size of the EditText (dialog.login.user_name) whose ems is 20
when I make the dialog's constructor call the base dialog constructor with a theme of R.style.Theme.Material.Dialog it does get the correct (about 3/4 of the screen) but the problem is that it ignores my primary and accent colours (which is normal)
Is there a way to have the dialog have the Theme.Material.Dialog size but still keep my own primary/accent colours?

After a lot of searching it seems that the solution is to actually replace the dialogTheme attribute of my main theme, so the solution was:

android textview not wrapping correctly

I have the following xml to display rows in a listView. I want the TextView with the id rowCreatedAt, to wrap around nicely but it never does and only shows 1 line. I tried most of the solutions in the other questions and added them in the code, but it still doesn't work. Can anyone tell me why...?
+I would like to avoid setting the exact size to the textview.
++ To put it differently, why does the rowCreatedAt textView doesn't wrap the text when width/height is set to fill_parent while other textViews wrap texts just fine?

Try out be setting android:ems="10" it will make your edittext that much wide and wraps the other characters.
OR
You should use android:ellipsize="marquee". If you do not want to fix the height.

How to center a RatingBar in Android

I have created a custom RatingBar as described in one of the tutorials given here on stack-overflow and it's looking great, the problem is with the centering of the image. here is what I've got:
As you can see the TextView is centered vertically in the LinearLayout, but the RatingBar is at the top of it. Here is my xml code of this image:

Ok, I think I've got it.
The key issue is the ScrollView: it automatically makes things compact, unless you specifically tell it otherwise. In the scroll view, set
android:fillViewport="true"
to make it use the space available.

Hello to get all items at top you have to put:

instead of:

if you just want the rating bar centred:
just remove style="#style/starsRatingBar"

forget any think I said befor, it seems to work better when I changed the style to : (adjust your min/max height to get "perfect result" )
