Whenever I attempt to run a project in Android Studio, I get the message below:
Unable to find toolchain: /Users/christiantisby/Library/Android/sdk/ndk-bundle/toolchains/arm-linux-androideabi-4.9/prebuilt
I'm not understanding what needs to be downloaded/added. I have attempted to delete Android Studio and download it again, but I'm getting the same error. Please help.
Update your gradle version and sync project.
In my case I updated it to com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.2.1 and worked fine for me.
Go to the SDK Manager in Android Studio
After that delete NDK & LLDB
If this didn't help you then try Martin Zeitler answer.
Go to the SDK Manager in Android Studio and then download the NDK & LLDB (debugger); This would install it at /Users/christiantisby/Library/Android/sdk/ndk-bundle.

I'm new to android development and just installed Android studio version 3.0.1. I just started my first project and it's showing the below error:-
Gradle project sync failed. Basic functionality (e.g. editing, debugging) will not work properly.
It did suggest me to download and install SDK and NDK in the previous attempts which I did, successfully as it didn't suggest again. Now along with the above error, it also specifies the below statement:-
Error:Unable to get the CMake version located at: C:\Android\SDK\cmake\bin
I tried searching for SDK manager to install Cmake but I couldn't find it in Tools menu where it's supposed to be present.
Please help me resolve this error.
Thanks.
Follow these steps
1.You should open SDK Manager
2.Then click on SDk tools
3.. Download Cmake.
If you can't find Sdk,then try download SDk from here and expand in the main directory and then set the path for it
This problem occurred when I upgraded Android Studio 3.0 to 3.1: java.lang.RuntimeException: com.intellij.ide.plugins.PluginManager $ StartupAbortedException: Fatal error initializing 'com.intellij.util.net.ssl.CertificateManager'
What caused this, how to solve this problem yet
The details of the problem are below:
I fixed that by:
1) Downloading Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files 7
2) Unzip the files in Android Studio\jre\jre\lib\security
3) Run Android Studio :)
1.
Try to delete IDE system folder >
https://intellij-support.jetbrains.com/hc/articles/206544519
2.
Reinstall >
http://www.jetbrains.com/idea/download/index.html.
check if that helps
Solved this problem.
For me, all above methods are useless.
Then I guess maybe the plugin installed newly cause the error .
I empty the plugins at the directory of"C:\Users....AndroidStudio\config\plugins"
and it work normally.
Perhaps deleting last installed plugin would help. Path: C:\Users{username}}{AndroidStudio Version}\config\plugins\ .
In my case - could get launch after deleting Hoi4.jar , avaliables.xml, availables_etag.

As the exception occurred by uninstalling any plugin from plugin manager, that means you have just uninstalled any plugin. But in such case, plugin not fully uninstalled from android studio config.
So you need to delete that folder.
First goto task manager of the system, end task android studio if not ended.
Then goto installation folder USER/.AndroidStudioX.X/config/plugins, Now check that any folder regarding your uninstalled plugin. Delete that folder. Now start the android studio.
Works in my case.
Update the IDE tools. It worked for me.
The Android SDK Manager helps you download the tools. To open the SDK Manager from Android Studio, click Tools > Android > SDK Manager or click SDK Manager in the toolbar.
Here is the link for reference
Today I've installed Android Studio Canary 1
Now I cannot run my app. This following dialog appears.
I've already set the right SDK location through File-> Project Structure-> Android SDK location.
Expecting your help to solve this problem.
Warning Dialog image:
Go to project structure settings and set Source Compatibility and Target Compatibility to your current java development kit version:
Just you need to sync your project file with your gradle file.
File -> Sync Project with Gradle Files
I tried every answer in this post but my problem only got resolved when I made these steps:
File -> Close project -> Remove project -> Open existing project (same
project)
Maybe this will save a morning to another person with the same bug.
EDIT
This happened to me a lot on a MacBook. After I posted this answer it just kept happening so what I did was:
uninstall the Android Studio version I had from the App Store;
download the desktop stable version from Android Studio website;
start using the desktop version of Android Studio.
Never happened again.
Sometimes the SDK path will be incorrectly configured. You would need to fix it.
To Settings/Preferences( command + , on mac).
Search for SDK
Under Android SDK, click on edit and point it the root of sdk directory on your file system. (If ther is no SDk installed then install in from the below list).
i suggest you go to build.gradle and sync again.
Or Tools -> Android -> Sync Project with Gradle Files (Android 3+)
You need to insall SDK api 19 check this out.
https://developer.android.com/studio/releases/platforms
Go to sdk manager and install sdk according to your device and check your device api. Example if your device is jellybean then install api 19 sdk.
Go to Tools> Android > SDK Manager and make sure you have selected default Setting under System Setting. In this image I have selected Android 7.1.1 as default SDK
Just click on the button ..."Sync Project with gradle file"
Error will be remove
I had the same problem and what it worked for me was just sync with gradle.
I just did what I've found in this similar question:
How do I "select Android SDK" in Android Studio?
The original answer:
go to build.gradle and click sync now. Then it worked.
Update :
File -> Sync Project with Gradle Files (Android Studio 3.1.1)
Tools -> Android -> Sync Project with Gradle Files (Android Studio
3.0.1) Or You can click on the icon from the toolbar.
Sync Project Icon
This answer may not help works for later version as Android studio Team work on making the tool more better, the way to sync may be
different in the next version of Android Studio.
COMMON WAY that may helps is try to sync project and then Invalidate
Caches and Restart Android Studio.
Solution for Android Studio 3.1.2
Before that, by the way, I had invalidated cache and restarted too, but it didn't work.
Please, try and let us know.
P.S.
I had this problem after I imported a project from Git, just in case someone would like to replicate.
I am trying to create Android project using Android studio.
I have installed the latest Android studio and update it using the help-check for updates.
Then I tried to create my first Android project, however after the studio download the gradle, it throw a error:
Gradle: A problem occurred configuring project ':FirstAndroid'.
> Failed to notify project evaluation listener.
> Could not resolve all dependencies for configuration ':FirstAndroid:_DebugCompile'.
> Could not find any version that matches com.android.support:appcompat-v7:+.
Required by:
FirstAndroidProject:FirstAndroid:unspecified
I am not sure what's the problem.
Anyone can do me a favor?
I am sorry , I think I made a mistake before I ask this questions.
Before using Android studio , I have used eclipse and Idea together with a standalone Android sdk while this sdk cover almost all the required components.
However when I install Android studio, it use its internal sdk which do not include the components like com.android.support:appcompat-v7, after update the sdk through the Android studio, the problem is solved.
It says com.android.support:appcompat-v7 -- maybe, you need to install v7 support?
I have to note that the last time I needed to create a new project, I found the tools in a poor state: to create a project that could compile from both Eclipse and command line I had to create two new projects and manually copy files from one to another (otherwise I was getting a crazy error about null returning 1).
I was getting the same message. (Working on Mac, Android Studio 0.4.5)
Simply updating the SDK through the SDK Manager did correct the issue for me.
To correct the issue I opened the SDK manager (tools -> Android -> SDK Manager). Scrolled down to the bottom and found the Extras folder.
Downloading and installing the components in the Extras folder corrected the issue.
When I am trying to run my Android application in Eclipse I am getting "Could not find **.apk!" error. Till today my application was running without any problem. Not able to find out why this error is coming.
Any help is appreciated.
Rohan.
Please follow these steps; this might help you out:
Go to Project->Properties
Select Android from left-hand side list
Uncheck the "Is Library" checkbox
if its not work try this-
deleting the R.Java file in /Gen folder and then clean your project.
Do you have the Android SDK Build-tools installed?
I encountered the same problem, after upgrading the Eclipse adt plugin to v 22.0.1. I did not had the build-tools installed before, but upgrading the SDK tools and installing the build tool fixed it for me.
