I am not able to find an api equivalent to
Installs: update of Google Play EMM API here in Android Management API.
Can anyone please help with the API or any policy that can be used to install an update to a fully managed device. There is a concept of policy.productAvailabilityPolicy to push beta updates of an app in Devices in Play EMM API, it's also missing in Android Management API.

I will be developing an app that uses Google Vision API in order to scan barcode. I am successfully able to write and test the app. However, I found out that the API has to be supported for Android's ICS i.e. version 4 and above. I am using Google Play Services 8.4 version. Will I be able to use this app? I have just created a prototype of app only.
In short is there any relationship between google play services and android version? If yes where can I find it. Thanks.
you may refer to this link in order to know more regarding google play services and android versions. https://developers.google.com/android/guides/setup
Here is what I was looking for. I wanted to check if version 8.4 of google play services is available for android 2.3 or not.
So I have downloaded source code(AOSP) for Android 4.4.2, built it and of course there is no Google APIs or Google Play Servicies, but I want to include there Android app using Google App Engine Cloud Storage and Google Account authentification system.
Is it somehow possible?
Or is it possible to get Android 4.4.2 source code (for personal use only) with Google APIs from google inc.?
Do you know about Auth with Endpoints? https://developers.google.com/appengine/docs/python/endpoints/auth
I hope this help you.
Can you explain more about "personal use only"
I am building an application which has its major functionality on google maps. But the problem I am facing in one of the device is that:
The Google Maps never load on that device [its OS is Android v2.2]
I have checked for the Google Play Service and it always gives a dialog to update the Google Play service; but when I click ok it redirects me to the play store where it shows that i already have the google play library [No update option there]
I connected the device and checked the logcat which states something like this:
"Current Google Play Service Version is 35xxx and required is 41xxx"
but there is No way for me to update the google play service as it never shows the update option. Please help me with this issue.
Give me all possible solution that i should try out... I need this app working on android 2.2.
I am using google maps api v2. Also Note the app is working fine on all other android versions.
Thanks.
USING Google Maps v1 can SOLVE MY PROBLEM....?? Please Help!
You need to use older version of Google Maps Android API v2.
The latest supported on 2.2 devices is 3.2.65 (v12) and can be downloaded via SDK Manager.
Just look for Google Play services for Froyo.
Or if you are using Android Studio and Gradle, make your dependency version equal to 3.2.65.
Is the Google Play Services SDK R15 available to download anywhere? The "ChromeCast SDK" was "released" Monday, according to hundreds of news sites. Those same news sites claim Android app developers are "hard at work implementing ChromeCast functionality." Is the SDK appearing in anyone's SDK Manager?
How are Android app developers implementing ChromeCast functionality when the SDK isn't available and the API has changed dramatically? The DayFrame developers supposedly already updated their app to the new API, which seems suspicious to me...
Edit - As per the announcement post, SDK15 is now available.
As per the Chromecast Android API reference:
These APIs are currently not available for development. They require Google Play services 4.2, which began rolling out to devices worldwide on February 3rd. Once the update to devices is complete, the corresponding Google Play services library (revision 15) will be available for you to begin using these APIs.
Certain developers have been given early access to the SDK directly from Google to allow early development, but general availability of SDK R15 is still to come. You can still read through the Developers Guide and the Android Sender App Development Guide and prepare your application, design, and resources appropriately, but the actually integration of the SDK and testing cannot occur until Google releases it officially after the full rollout of Google Play Services 4.2.
I have android apps hosted in google play.
I want to find if updates are available or not programatically along with version number.
Is it possible to get the current android app version in google play?
Thanks.
This is not possible as google don't provide any such api. If you want to do so then you have to create a web service which returns all your currently live apps versions and then check them in your app.
NO, GooglePlay is private. You cannot get the new version from Google player service.
But the PlayStore application will watch for all the downloaded applications for update.
