Unexpected token in JSON at position 1024 react native - android

I am getting this error on compiling react native project using the expo framework.
I am getting no stack trace on my terminal but this is the error response on expo client.

For some reason clearing cache and recompiling fixed the issue, maybe it was an encoding issue that resulted in a tofu Character or something like that.

Expo notifications can't call `getExpoPushTokenAsync()`

Am currently trying to setup notifications on my managed expo project
Expo version 47.0.0
Expo notifications version 0.17.0
Device: Samsung Galaxy s10
Android version 12
I am currently just trying to get the basic setup itself working and retrieve my devices push token. This should be done using Notifications.getExpoPushTokenAsync() as described here.
The Problem
My error is strange, when I call getExpoPushTokenAsync it does indeed get me the expo push token, however shortly after my app crashes with the following messages
ERROR TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating '_$$_REQUIRE(_dependencyMap[1], "../../../src/util").types.isPromise')
WARN [expo-notifications] Error encountered while updating server registration with latest device push token. [TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating '_$$_REQUIRE(_dependencyMap[5], "#ide/backoff").computeNextBackoffInterval')]
I have tried
re-installing node_modules and expo-notifications but still get the same.
I can definitely see the #ide/backoff package is installed in my node_modules.
I also followed these instructions to setup firebase in app, even though my understanding is that it should work out of the box in expo go app while devving.
One other interesting thing is that I can call Notifications.getDevicePushTokenAsync() fine with no error. But still get the same error if i pass that in to getExpoPushTokenAsync method after. At a surface level it seems like somehow the request out to expo services to get the expo push token is both passing and failing 🤷‍♂️
const devicePushTokenResponse = await Notifications.getDevicePushTokenAsync();
const expoPushTokenResponse = await Notifications.getExpoPushTokenAsync({
devicePushToken: devicePushTokenResponse,
}); // <--- Returns token & errors a few seconds later
Couldn't see any other posts with this error and expo-notifications, so would be keen to see if anyone else has ran into / fixed a similar issue recently
Cheers
Alright I figured it out, it was somewhat hinted at by this line
ERROR TypeError: undefined is not an object (evaluating '_$$_REQUIRE(_dependencyMap[1], "../../../src/util").types.isPromise')
And more specifically the fact that a node_modules dependency is referencing 3 levels up in the file system.
The solution
Turns out that for some reason my module resolver (defined in babel.config.js) was resolving my project's util folder instead of the packages util folder. I think this was compounded by my metro config making use of the inlineRequires functionality to improve performance (see more)
I am sure there is some actual config that could be updated to exclude node_modules from using inline requires (i did try use a blocklist to no avail), but as an interim, i was able to get it working fine by changing the path of my util folder to be #my-project/util so that it avoids future collisions.
Hope this helps anyone who runs into the same issue in the future :)

How do I solve a NetworkError when attempting to debug a React Native application?

I am creating an Android React Native application and everything seems to be working fine except when I attempt to debug the program. When I attempt to do this, the app just becomes a blank white screen and the Chrome console has this error:
Uncaught NetworkError: Failed to execute 'importScripts' on 'WorkerGlobalScope': The script at 'http://localhost:8081/index.android.bundle?platform=android&dev=true' failed to load.
A few seconds later the app crashes. Does anyone have any idea how to solve this? I just started the project and I haven't really done that much yet so I don't know why this would be breaking
The reason I've come across that error, is because I was running with chrome debugging enabled. Turning that off solved the error for me.
I had the same error. This is how I solved it.
In AppDelegate.m I had commented -
jsCodeLocation = [NSURL URLWithString:#"http://localhost:8081/index.ios.bundle?platform=ios&dev=true"];
and uncommented -
jsCodeLocation = [[NSBundle mainBundle] URLForResource:#"main" withExtension:#"jsbundle"];
Did this to run on device. Switched it back. Works now.

Xamarin Forms Ui project (Multiplatform)

I am making this UI for a multiplatform app using Xamarin on my Macbook.
I have set FormsUI as startup project.
Xamarin gives errors when i try to run the project on ios simulator.
/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/External/xbuild/Xamarin/iOS/Xamarin.iOS.Common.targets:
Error: Failed to load output manifest for ibtool: Unrecognized property list format. (XPlatformFormsUI.iOS)
/Library/Frameworks/Mono.framework/External/xbuild/Xamarin/iOS/Xamarin.iOS.Common.targets:
Error: Output manifest contents: (XPlatformFormsUI.iOS)
This particular error has been mentioned in the Xamarin Forms forum; basically, something in one of the iOS assets (e.g. a storyboard) is the cause. Unfortunately, you don't get much information regarding WHICH asset it was in the error. Try creating a brand new solution and gradually introduce your changes until you hit the error.

Error while trying to apportable iOS app to Android

I have been trying to port my first iOS app to Android with apportable.
I have solved alot of warnings and errors but cannot get rid of this last one.
The App I made is a fitness application for jogging so it uses CoreLocation.
Everything looks good when I run apportable now except this last error:
Build/android-armeabi-debug/com.apptonix.easyrunner/testTabbedWithCore/libtestTabbedWithCore.a(DetailViewController.m.o):/Users/peterbodlund/Documents/xcodeprojects/Training/inlamning5/testTabbedWithCore/testTabbedWithCore/DetailViewController.m:function L_OBJC_CLASSLIST_REFERENCES_$_114: error: undefined reference to 'OBJC_CLASS_$_MKPinAnnotationView'
scons: * [Build/android-armeabi-debug/EasyRunner/apk/lib/armeabi/libverde.so] Error 1
scons: building terminated because of errors.
Exception AttributeError: "'NoneType' object has no attribute 'pack'" in > ignored
Usually this is an indicator that there were link errors. Check your output higher up and look for missing symbol errors.
The build log is confusing because the build is parallel by default.
Add the option -j1 to cause the build to stop immediately after the first error.

Can't native debug

I was able to use the native debug functionality until recently. I've been coding in java and went back to the native code but now I can't native debug. It will run and with the previously working debug config but I get a Null Pointer error on launch right when it would be attaching:
'Launching [debug config]' has encountered a problem.
An internal error occurred during 'Launching [debug config]'.
java.lang.NullPointerException
The app will run on the device, but won't hit breakpoints. Anyone seen this, it's driving me nuts?
Turns out this was due to the manifest "debuggable" being set to false. When you don't run native it tells you exactly that. With native, you get the absolutely useless error. I'll put in an enhancement request.
