Rounding the corners of a View in Kotlin [duplicate]

I have this View in Kotlin:

and I need to round the corners since it is a Dot and I have been investigating and testing how I can do it to round the corners but I just can't find the answer.
How can I solve it?

you have to create a drawable shape xml file and set background property of the view to the drawable file!
res/drawable/circle.xml :

How to draw a dot circle inside a square drawable in android?

I want a small dot inside a square button , this is what i have tried till now as answered by azizbekian:

The first image is what i have tried and the second image is what i want excluding the text.

the dot does not appear in the background when this drawable is applied to the button, maybe because of the size of button and drawable i tried to adjust the size of drawable, but i just do not understand it and it did not work, how can i adjust it such that the dot appears in button background.

first create color_circle in drawable

Rounded linear layout leaving extra space on corners

i am creating a rounded linear layout with some buttons and textviews, i have used a custom selector as background of layout. My problem is that layout have extra space on corners how to remove this? any help will be appreciated

this may include space on corner but it's too low.
just reduce radius value.

Try to use this approach, is not the most clear solution but for me works:
Create a Layout container with transparent background, and use it as a container of your rounded layout

Put corner radius whatever you want.

After getting pissed for 2 days I finally found it .
It cannot be solved by any drawable files or by editing the canvas but simply by making the layout as base layout.
There are several methods and stuffs under values you have to choose the right ones and add it in your styles.
First add these to your styles.xml
<style name="AppBottomSheetDialogTheme" parent="Theme.MaterialComponents.Light.BottomSheetDialog">
<item name="bottomSheetStyle">#style/CustomBottomSheetStyle</item>
</style>
<style name="CustomBottomSheetStyle" parent="Widget.Design.BottomSheet.Modal">
<item name="android:background">#drawable/drawable_round_bottom_sheet</item>
</style>
Now the most important part is to call the AppBottomDialogue for this I used this
override fun getTheme(): Int {
return R.style.AppBottomSheetDialogTheme
}
Now you can choose whatever to do with your method I used ImagesView inside ConstraintLayout you can directly clip it no problem.

Guys i have created a imageButton in my layout file and set a circular png image as its background.but when i am running my application, its displaying me a square button with my given image placed in the middle of it.

Make a new shape XML in res/drawable/round_button.xml:

Use this shape as the button's background:

You may also want to add android:scaleType="fitCenter" to your button to make the image the same size as the button, and android:adjustViewBounds="true" if your image has unequal height/width.

Android TextView Background

i have a design which demands a background like the image below for the number on the right hand side. Is there any we can achieve this in Android ?
Will i need to make a 9 patch image and set it as a background ?

First, create a shape to have rounded corners.

You may need to do some tweaking. You may even be able to discard the LinearLayout and set the android:background of the TextView to #drawable/rounded_edges
