Please do let me know how can i can find a solution to this error.
Awaiting for your replies.
update dependencies in your projects build.gradle file
dependencies {
classpath 'com.android.tools.build:gradle:3.1.4'
classpath 'com.google.gms:google-services:3.2.1'
}
My project is connected to Firebase (Database) and now I am tring to add Google map. When I add one of the dependencies I get an error message while the sync.
It says something about using different version etc.
HELP !!
Description:
After I added this line to the app gradle file:
implementation 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-maps:16.0.0'
I got this error:
The library com.google.android.gms:play-services-base is being requested by various other libraries at [[15.0.1,15.0.1]], but resolves to 16.0.1. Disable the plugin and check your dependencies tree using ./gradlew :app:dependencies.
with out the line that I have added everything is fine.
app gradle code:
apply plugin: 'com.android.application'
apply plugin: 'com.google.gms.google-services'

}

}
}
}

**implementation 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-maps:16.0.0'**
}
my project gradle file:
// Top-level build file where you can add configuration options common to all sub-projects/modules.
buildscript {

}
}
allprojects {

}
task clean(type: Delete) {

To solve this, please change the following lines of code:
implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-auth:16.0.1'
implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-database:16.0.1'
implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-storage:16.0.1'
implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-core:16.0.1'
**implementation 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-maps:16.0.0'**
to
implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-auth:16.1.0'
implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-database:16.0.5'
implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-storage:16.0.5'
implementation 'com.google.firebase:firebase-core:16.0.6'
implementation 'com.google.android.gms:play-services-maps:16.0.0'
Keeping the same version for all Firebase dependencies is now anti-pattern.
I try to import a retrofit library to my gradle file but unfortunately, I am facing too many errors.

I added the latest version of the retrofit2 but still get these errors. I have search for possible solutions but I can't find anything. Can someone help me with this problem?
Can you add this plugins are your app build.gradle file
implementation 'com.squareup.retrofit2:retrofit:2.4.0'
implementation 'com.google.code.gson:gson:2.8.2'
implementation 'com.squareup.retrofit2:converter-gson:2.4.0'
implementation 'com.squareup.okhttp3:logging-interceptor:3.4.1'
implementation 'com.squareup.okhttp3:okhttp:3.10.0'
And Can u change project build.gradle file like below code in allprojects
allprojects {
repositories {
google()
maven { url "https://jitpack.io" }
jcenter()
} }
Try this
implementation('com.squareup.retrofit2:retrofit:2.1.0') {
// exclude Retrofit’s OkHttp dependency module and define your own module import
exclude module: 'okhttp'
}
implementation 'com.google.code.gson:gson:2.8.2'
implementation 'com.squareup.retrofit2:converter-gson:2.1.0'
implementation 'com.squareup.okhttp3:logging-interceptor:3.4.1'
implementation 'com.squareup.okhttp3:okhttp:3.4.1'
and project build.gradle
allprojects {
repositories {
jcenter()
google()
mavenCentral()
maven { url 'https://jitpack.io' }
}
}
Add your build Gradle file
'com.squareup.retrofit2:retrofit:2.4.0'
Try adding this to the module (i.e. app) level gradle:
repositories {
maven {
mavenCentral()
}
}
Also you can try:
Go to File/Invalidate Cache-Restart
I have found a solution. I forgot to uncheck the offline work in Settings -> Build, Execution, Deployment -> Gradle -> Offline Work
