How to resolve adb: connect error for write : closed - android

I am getting the list of adb devices. But when I try to install the apk I get error:
connect error for write: closed
Image:

you should just use "apply update from adb" in recovery mode for installing new OS versions or something.
If you just want to install an .apk, start the device normally, activate the developer options and after that activate usb-debugging. Then try again adb devices and after that you could install the .apk, while the device is started "normally" (no recovery mode).
Hope this helps

Android Studio - Unable to open debugger port: java.io.IOException

I am stuck in a problem here.
I cannot attach debug using Android Studio 3.5.1.
Its keeping showing me the message "Error running 'Android Debugger (8600)': Unable to open debugger port (localhost:8600): java.io.IOException"
I tried a lot of things like:
adb reset
invalidate
restart windows
reinstall android studio
and none of them works.
And I cannot find Enable ADB Integration on this version.
Anyone knows how to fix it?
EDIT
Debugging with emulator is working with all versions.
Debugging with devices is working only with devices with Android 9.0+
Kill and start adb didn't work.
I dont think its a local problem because its happen with a lot of people here. Its seems to be a project problem
You might check this 3 things:
1.
Youre not running a not debuggable version.
android:debuggable="false" in Android Manifest
2.
In Android studio you re not building a release version
Check in Build variants in bottom left corner.
3.
If nothing works use Troubleshoot device connections
Tools -> Connection Assistant
or older version
Tools -> Troubleshoot device connections
And try out the helper page from google (seems for older versions)
https://developer.android.com/studio/run/device#assistant
Try this:
adb kill-server
adb start-server
adb usb
For linux, e.g., ubuntu: start all commands with sudo like this:
sudo adb kill-server.
its your connection issue, cant find your device DNS.
what is your OS ?
In windows:
you must go to network and find duplicate dns and clear it (Search for
it)
In mac:
you must kill adb or delete that and run a new version
last hit is Update emulator in sdk
.First you need to check your build.gradle(app) file , and ensure that your build is debuggable.
.If debuggable then you need to check adb is working or not in your system, you can
check by just press 'adb' .
if its working then check devices by 'adb devices', it will show all connected devices.
add kill-server then enter and adb start-server
Try this. I have had luck with this approach when I run into problems with adb.
You can check if the device is recognised or not using
adb devices
If it is indeed recognised you may try to kill adb and start it again
add kill-server
adb start-server

React native error in launching app with android emulator

I get following error when I run react-native run-android in CMD(windows command prompt)
Could not install the app on the device, read the error above for details.
Make sure you have an Android emulator running or a device connected and have
set up your Android development environment:
https://facebook.github.io/react-native/docs/android-setup.html
What caused This problem?
Thanks in Advance.
check your device connected or not by execute below command in cmd
adb devices
if adb not found then open below dir
C:\Users\MANGO\AppData\Local\Android\sdk\platform-tools
then check device connected or not
then you can lunch your app
i hope it solve your problem
Set the sdk platform tools path in system variable inside Enviroment variable.
With this you can check the connected devices from command promt.
Note: Make sure you have connected your device to PC with USB debugging On from developer menu. You can follow this link
Then follow following steps.
From command prompt type " adb devices ", if you are connecting the real android device first time then inside your device there will be a RSA key generated which you have to click "OK".
Then to confirm from devices you can again type adb devices if all went good it will show your device.
Move to your project folder from command prompt and then run your app from command prompt.

Android Device Monitor did not display the process I want ,but display others,why?

img
here is the image. I can't find my app's process, but others I can see. why did this happen? what should do? Thanks.
Some possible solutions:
On your notification bar, expand it and click the connection. Then select connect as Camera (PTP) (not as media device)
Try with another USB cable.
Go to your SDK manager and install Google USB Driver (I see you updated your answer regarding this)
Follow the instructions on OEM USD Drivers
if you get errors like below:
Unable to get view server version from device;
Unable to get view server protocol version from device
Unable to get the focused window from device
Unable to debug device
try to check these points below:
if signed app running on the phone, DDMS can't get the process info;
otherwise, can.
if use Virtual Device, then the DDMS&HierarchyView is useful;
reinstall app from IDE (if app process running stop it from IDE or force stop if through android setting)
if nothing happened try restart ADB
$ adb kill-server
$ adb start-server

Ok, I don't know if i got "the" answer. but here is how I've solved the same issue on my environnement ( Windows 8/Android Studio, but same error with ADT or eclipse) :
Context of my issues :
I've got an Asus PC, and with all the application suite installed by default.
So I've found that one of this Asus app ( currently "Asus sync") was using adb and in fact, it was taking control of the emulator over my adb in the AndroidSDK directory.
How to fix as a PC user :
Go to Task manager ( right click on task bar) , and look for "adb.exe" . Then right click on it and select "Open the directory". This will bring you to the responding adb. In my case it was Asus Sync, so I just had to unistall this software and everything works fine !
How to fix as a Mac user :
Go to Activity Monitor (/Applications/Utilities/), and look for "adb". Then try to kill the process. Then look if it solve your "Connection refused" in Android studio/ADT or eclipse
If still not working you can try :
Start a emulator ( with your AVD manager)
when finished loading, Open DDMS panel (in android studio : Menu Tools > Android > Monitors DDMS)
Look if you see your current running android emulator ( listed on the Device panel)
See if this line is kind of "flashing" ( connect/disconnect).
If so, you have probably a other adb instance running in conflict
If not, you can restart adb or reinstall your SDK
Hope this could help someone !
This issue occurs when Android Debug Bridge aka ADB is not responding to the request from Android Studio. I killed the process adb.exe and started it again. This solved my problem.
If you are using a real device :
Just reconnect your device, make sure your cable are workable and you installed the proper drivers.
I had the same problem, and my problem fixed by restarting the android-studio. Hope, that will help you too.
For me the following worked(after I tried the above points mentioned by others):
I tried debugging/running anther application. It was okay. So this pointed me to the direction that the current application has some problem
if (point 1 == true) {I uninstalled the application from my phone manually }
Then re-make/rebuild the application and debug/run worked

Getting the error "device not found" when running a apk file from Android emulator

I am trying to install an apk file from command prompt but getting an error "Device not found".
try "adb devices" first and see the list of devices connected.
If the phone does not appear, do this :
"adb kill-server" wait a few seconds then "adb start-server"
If the phone appears in the list but its name is ?????, you have an issue of permission.
If the phone appears fine, you might have an issue in your command. Then check the following :
Is your phone in debugging mode?
Have you added the debuggable tag to the manifest of your application?
is the phone properly connected with the cable to your computer?
Have you done everything correctly on this page.
Fist turn on the emulator and then go to prompt and type:
adb install yourfile
Try adb devices
If you don't see your simulator device in the list although its on, you probably have to start the server. Execute adb start-server.
Then once the server is up again check for device by using adb devices command. Your device will be in the list
Now try to install the application. After installatio the application will be available in the menu.
