I have seen this question before on this site, but the solutions have eluded me.
I have an app that I like, an app no longer supported by the developer. It's called DragonMobileApp. I'd like to copy it to my PC so that I can add it to another phone that I own.
Unfortunately, I can't figure out where it is in the file system on my phone. I've tried ADB and MyAppSharer and nothing seems to work for me. (Not the least of which I think I'm not actually able to see all of the files on my phone.)
And, of course, if you help me solve this problem, then I'll need to figure out how to load it from my PC onto a phone.
Thanks in advance for your assistance. I really did try all the solutions I found here before posting this question.
Install Xplore app from Store
Open it and click on App Manager
Click and hold the App and select Copy
Select a folder from your memory card or a folder you'd want to copy the apk file to
Click Ok to complete.
I'm guessing you don't need help to copy a file from your device to your PC.
Cheers!!!

I'm having three not rooted phones here. Two of them have Android 10 and one has Android 8.0. On one with Android 10 I just cant access the app files in /data/data directory with the Device File Explorer in Android Studio.
The error I get is:
`run-as: /data has wrong owner: 0/1000, not 1000ยด
I'm just not finding anything useful to fix this.
Since I had to dive into the comments of the original question to solve it for myself, I'll repeat the answer that helped me.
I uninstalled the app, restarted my phone, installed it again with android studio and it worked like a charm after that.
In case you're still looking for an answer.
This most likely happens when your database is created in the past (probably from some code that was a bit off). I advise you to delete the existing database from the device file explorer, make sure your code is right, and re-run the app.
This should create a new database and work.
I am trying to figure out where the Android emulator's external storage (/sdcard/Music/ for now, but of course I want to find the other external storage locations too) maps to in my Mac's file system. I want to copy some music files over for testing a simple music playing test app.
Tried to use Device File Explorer to figure it out, but there doesn't seem to be an option for that (unlike the resource folders, which have a "reveal in Finder" right click option). Also tried the virtual device configuration options panel but didn't see it there either. Probably overlooking something obvious, so I apologize in advance. Thanks a lot.
It can probably be found somewhere, but since its content can be encrypted, it would be very inconvenient to work with.
The easiest way to upload a file is to right-click on its folder in Device File Explorer and select Upload...
You can also do it with the adb push <local-path> <remote-path> command line tool if you prefer.
A few months ago I created an app which let the user see and manage Instagram's offline video caches like a gallery. formerly the dir was located in here :
internal-memory/Android/data/com.instagram.android/cache/video
but since the last Instagram update that dir seems to have only one file : journal
I searched around and found nothing. even rooted my phone and used any root explorer I knew to search deeper. the only time I could see the cache was when I connected my phone to my PC and there they were, right where they used to be before, but not accessible through windows either. I couldn't copy the files. apparently the files weren't exactly there !
So, I have two questions now:
1- How can I access Instagram's cached files?
2- I'm really interested to know what they did to hide these files? it would be useful in many ways to be able to hide files in public internal memory in a way that no file manager could explore.
======
Edit :
they're not hiding anything, just using exoplayer to cache and stream video files. right now I'm trying to merge them back together. I'd appreciate any help because I can't figure it out by my self.
Ive written a program for my android device and its installed and working on my phone (S3), BUT ive just lost my PC HD and thought id saved my eclipse android coding folder but I didn't, the program is only a small one but took me a while to perfect so i need to recover it into eclipse to edit it more and save it.
Any ideas?
Cheers people

What you can do is since you still have the working app on your S3, you can use something like
Use ES File Explorer to back up the app and retrieve the .apk file.
Decompile using: http://www.decompileandroid.com/, or APK Tool
Ok so I want to learn android push notifications. I found at android to use the C2DM service.
http://code.google.com/android/c2dm/
Great they even give me an example. http://code.google.com/p/jumpnote/downloads/list
My problem is I don't know what to do with the file after I download it. :P
It is an .apk file. So how do I open it in eclipse to learn from it?
An apk is an android install app thingy you run it on your phone. To edit search android code examples and select the first one select what you want to edit dowbload the manifest and the other files and edit them in eclipse. Have you ever tried opening a .exe in notepad it does not work so well because it is already compiled same (i think) with the. Apk also make sure you have the android plugib for exlipse. Sorry for the strange language I am a delvoper who forgets the name of everything. And the grammer i am only 13.
Rename it to .zip and you can open it with your favorite zip unarchiving program.
