a few days ago there was no problem when I used my device to run the application. but suddenly when I plug the usb into my device android studio displays no device and I try to replace another device but still not detected in android studio even though in the file explorer device is detected. I tried using the same device and same usb on another laptop and it was detected. I've tried several answers like install adb but it still didn't work
Could you tap adb deviceson your cmd and check if you see your plugged devices.
If not please check if u correctly check the developer options "Enable USB debugging" from your device.
Please check:
Developer mode is on;
USB debugging: enable;
Verify apps over USB is off;
only charging this device via USB - is off;
switch USB computer connection to PTP mode or to File Transfer mode;
ensure that you are applyed fingerprinting keys in popup window after connection new device to your computer;
your USB-cable is real Data-Cable (not only for charging);
Your ADB drivers arent compatible with your device, you need to install Universal ADB drivers or else try open google ADB drivers (Some phone companies don't support google ADB drivers).

Chrome://inspect#devices could not find devices for USB debugging
On Android: Turn off USB debugging, then turn it on.
After confirming "allow usb debugging" popup on android, the inspect page still says: Pending authentication: please accept debugging session on the device.
Also tried changing USB config from MTP to PTP, not helpful.
From computer file explorer, the android phone is accessible.
Chrome version is 102 on both Windows 10 and Android 8.0.
Android Studio's adb can interfere with Chrome Remote Debugging so only running one at a time is advised.
Confirm that your Android device is detected by adb with adb devices. This is just to avoid problems with bad USB cables or bad USB ports.
After shutting down Android Studio, adb may still be running so you'll have to run adb kill-server to stop it.
Relaunch Chrome.
I have tried
Installing driver
The USB debugging enabled in Developer Options
Switched from MTP to PTP device selection
Check if adb devices command shows the devices
Edit Run Configurations.
But my physical device Lenovo K5a040 is still not shown.
The problem is because of not properly installed Android Debug Bridge (ADB) USB Driver on your system.
You can Check whether it is properly installed.
Connect your Device and enable the USB debugging in device.
Right click on My Computer and open the Manage.
Go to other Devices and check whether your device is showing warning icon.(if it shows warning it is clearly says, ADB is not properly installed)
Reinstall the Android Debug Bridge (ADB) USB Driver.
Please check this link it will be helpful.

Hope it will help. :-)
I want to use Samsung Note Pro for debugging on Windows with Xamarin.Forms,I installed Samsung USB Drivers
from this address and turned on developer mode
but still not work. When I call adb devices my device didn't appear in the list.
(As #Sreeraj's answer stated, installing Kia solves a lot of driver issues under Windows)
Once Developer Mode is enabled:
There is also a separate “Developers Options” section. The difference now is before you get to enable the USB debugging option, you must first enable or turn on “Developer Mode”
Update:
but when I call it gets the device as "unauthorized"
1) To allow app installs from non-Market apps, tap the menu button on your home screen, then choose Settings >> Applications >> Unknown sources.
2) Can't connect Nexus 4 to adb: unauthorized
I too had this problem once. Despite installing drivers from Samsung website, adb could not recognise my device. Then installing Samsung Kies software in my PC helped me. It may work.
After you enable Developer Mode you need to turn on USB Debugging before you connect the device with your PC.
You can also debug without connecting your device via wireless: How can I connect to Android with ADB over TCP?
I have a basic Hello World Cordova application working on an Android emulator (Nexus 4) on my Mac. I wanted to try deploying to a Samsung Galaxy S3 that I have (model SCH-R530M) but when I try running adb devices and empty list is returned.
I have already tried unplugging the device, killing adb using adb kill-server, running adb using adb start-server, and then plugging the device back in and it is still not being recognized.
The only other problem I can find is that my USB cable might be a "charge only" cable, but I don't know how I would go about determining if it is.
Does anyone have a potential fix for this issue?
Is it in developer mode?
Does it allow USB debugging?

These are the instructions for your device:
https://muffinresearch.co.uk/samsung-galaxy-s3-where-are-the-developer-options/
Go to Settings → More → About Device
Scroll down to Build Number
Tap it repeatedly (It'll show a message telling you how many more times you need to tap it to enable developer mode).
See the Developer options menu under Settings → More
Then make sure 'usb debugging' is selected in the developer options.
I would try a different USB cables too. I had to try a couple before it would register the device.
Kies can also sometimes kickstart it.

I have a Vodafone smart first 6 phone, that I want to debug over bluetooth. I have turned on usb debugging at developer options and also allowed mock locations. I downloaded the usb driver for it from http://androidxda.com/download-vodafone-usb-drivers . I have windows 8.1 and android studio 1.2.2
When I connect my phone to my computer the phone sais "USB debugging connected" but my android studio doesn't see it, altough my computer recognize it as a media device. The adb devices command isn't see it either.
All this steps worked for me for previous devices, I have debuged a lot of android devices before but I cannot find a solution for this vodafone phone. Can anyone help me?
Thank you!
Deleted the two 'vf695' entries in device manager, disconnected the phone, installed PDANet (http://pdanet.co/), selected the 'unknown device' option, followed the instructions, seemed to do the job.
