Android studio after updates does not see connected devices - android

After updates to Android Studio 3.6.1 studio does not see connected devices,
but in adb devices
the debugger also stopped working
also do not work:
adb kill-server
adb start-server
I tried using the emulator, but the debugger in it also does not work
Operating System: MacOS Mojave

Decision:
Studio changed the way to platform-tools
it used to be:
/Library/Android/sdk/platform-tools
after the update:
/Library/Android/sdk/platform-tools/platform-tools
I don’t know why this happened, but after I moved all the content from the nested platform-tools, everything worked

First try
To change what your application defaults to when you click run or debug in Android Studio, follow these steps:
go to Run
Click on Edit Configurations
Select the project
find the Target Device section under the General tab on the Android Application page.
That seems to be where you toggle what the project builds to. If you're importing a project it actually defaults to Emulator, not sure why. You can also select "Open Select Deployment Target Dialog" to list both connected as well as emulated devices.
Sec try
Go to device manager (just search it using Start) and look for any devices showing an error. Many androids will show as an unknown USB device and comes with exclamation mark. Select that device and try to update the drivers for it. for update part follow the link:universal adb
But before that, you have to update your sdk manager and make sure Google USB Driver package is installed.
When done, the driver files are downloaded into the \extras\google\usb_driver\ directory. Hints: Search "android_winusb.inf" under Windows Start and Open File Location to get the directory mentioned.
Open up your device manager, navigate to your android device, right click on it and select Update Driver Software then select Browse driver software. Follow the file location path previously to install Google USB Driver.
Third try
Some cables can not been used for developer mode or transfer file. A solution would be change your cable and don't waste time.
and be sure allow USB debug mode
fourth try
Drivers not installed: If the Android Physical device is not a Google/Nexus product than you have to download the OEM drivers of the particular model.
HAXM not installed properly : Hardware Accelerated Execution Manager must have not installed properly on your computer. Try reinstalling it directly from the options available in your SDK.
No proper Path : Sometimes though the files are available in the local system, The Android Studio is not guided with the accurate path name to reach the file.
...............
Before going to bellow steps make sure
Your "Google USB Driver" package is installed ("Tools" -> "SDK Manager" -> Check "Google USB Driver" -> "Apply" -> "Ok").
If you are trying to access with emulator then check "Intel x86 Emulator Accelarator(HAXM installer)" is instaled. ("Tools" -> "SDK Manager" -> Check "Intel x86 Emulator Accelarator(HAXM installer)"" -> "Apply" -> "Ok")
Go to Tools.
Then go to SDK Manager.
Open SDK tools.
Uncheck "Android SDK Platform-Tools" (On my case it was checked).
press apply then ok.
Again goto Tools.
Then goto SDK Manager.
Open SDK tools.
check "Android SDK Platform-Tools"
Restart Android Studio :)
Hope this will be useful to you.

Android Studio Device Manager shows my physical device offline the next time when I try to run my app

I pair my phone using the Pair using wifi option in Android Studio and it gets paired and even the app runs on my phone. But the next day when I come the device manager shows my phone offline inspite of switching on Wireless debugging on my android phone on.
So, inorder to run the app on my phone I have to remove my phone from the list of Physical device under the Device Manager tab and then pair my phone again and it works properly again.
But I wanted to know if there is a way to connect my phone to connect directly with Android Studio on any day without having to remove my device and pairing it again.
Close and then start Android Studio after making sure that your device has wireless debugging enabled and after making sure the PC has joined the same wifi network. On Windows, kill any "adb.exe" processes that persist after Android Studio has closed.
In the worst case, I've had success by doing all of the above and also reinstalling the platform tools in Android Studio. In my case, I had to:
Navigate to Tools / SDK Manager / SDK Tools (tab)
Uncheck "Android SDK Platform-Tools"
Click OK, see warnings about files in the platform-tools directory
Navigate in the filesystem to that platform-tools directory, delete it
Navigate to Tools / SDK Manager / SDK Tools (tab)
Uncheck "Android SDK Platform-Tools"
Click OK, hopefully see no warnings

"No emulator installed" error in Android Studio even though Intel HAXM is up and running

Complete newbie, fresh Android Studio install, trying to run an emulator ends up coughing a "No emulator installed" error. Clicking the Install Emulator link does nothing. Trouble is, I've gone through tens of how-to articles and StackOverflow questions and did everything mentioned in those, to no avail.
What I have:
Windows 10, Android Studio 2.3.3
CPU: i7, supports HAXM
BIOS: "Virtualization" under Advanced tab is Enabled. It doesn't mention Intel or "Vt-x" or anything like that, just "Virtualization", but I guess that's it
Windows' Hyper-V is disabled
I enabled anything that mentions Google API, Emulator, or Intel in the SDK Manager. Here is how it looks on the SDK Platforms, SDK Tools and SDK Update Sites tabs:
I installed Intel HAXM manually, via its downloaded installer.
In the Terminal, if it type ...\sdk\tools>emulator-check accel, it says:
accel: 0 HAXM version 6.2.1 (4) is installed and usable. accel
If I type sc query intelhaxm, I get:
SERVICE_NAME: intelhaxm
TYPE : 1 KERNEL_DRIVER
STATE : 4 RUNNING
(STOPPABLE, NOT_PAUSABLE, IGNORES_SHUTDOWN)
WIN32_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0)
SERVICE_EXIT_CODE : 0 (0x0)
CHECKPOINT : 0x0
WAIT_HINT : 0x0
First time I have met that problem I resolved it by uninstalling and removing all traces of Android Studio and installing it again. Next time when the same problem occurred on another machine I have found easier way to solve the problem:
Go to Android SDK location and remove "emulator" and "system-images"
directories. The default path to SDK is "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk"
In the Android Studio launch SDK manager, go to
"Appearance & Behavior > System Settings > Android SDK" menu, select "SDK
Tools" tab and check "Intel x86 Emulator Accelerator (HAXM
installer)" and "Android Emulator" checkboxes and click apply. Some
download and setup actions should occur at that point
Go to AVD manager, delete all AVDs and create new AVD you need.
The Emulator started successfully after that.
Hi simply go to your SDK then SDK tools and click to Uncheck Android emulator to uninstall it , then download and reinstall through SDK tools Android emulator. This work for me
I hope it will helpful to you.
I solved by removing /emulator folder and re-installing via sdk manager.
I had this issue on Linux with i7 processor and 32GB or RAM. This was a reinstall of the Linux OS and it had worked fine before. What I discovered was that the emulator doesn't like my video card, and setting the Hardware Acceleration to Auto caused it to select hardware and crash! Manually setting Hardware Acceleration to Software solved my issues.
Go to "Control Panel\System and Security\System" and open your Device Manager. Once Device Manager opens, go to Display Adapters and select the name of your graphics driver. Select the "Driver" tab, then click "Update Driver". This completely fixed the issue for me.
Here is the path to follow :
goto this location "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\Android\Sdk"
delete emulator folder.
then go setting in android studio
chick android sdk
sdk tools
select sdk emulator and apply
emulotor will be installed.

Android developement with Delphi on One Plus X: how to?

I own Delphi 10 Seattle and I am struggling to setup my IDE for Android development.
My phone is One Plus X.
I went through the docs at embarcadero website, in particular this page
I did all up to point (6), but point (7) is not ok: I do not see my device.
I tried to go through all the points several time, I also made sure to run explorer with elevated privileges to be sure that everything is installed fine. Anyway as I choose Android as target platform there is no way to see my phone in the "Target" folder.
Did anyone manage to use One Plus X (and its drivers) for Android Development on Delphi Seattle?
I used this driver as USB driver for one plus X, having no errors on installation
After retrying for the nth time i manager do see my phone.
Success come after following step by step this guide:
Start the Android SDK Manager by selecting Start | All Programs | Embarcadero RAD Studio | Android SDKs | Android Tools
Caution: Use only the Android SDK Manager that is available in the Android Tools node on the Start menu.
Do not use any other Android SDK Manager that might be installed elsewhere on your system.
A command window opens, and then the Android SDK Manager opens.
In the Android SDK Manager:
Scroll down to Extras.
Select the Google USB Driver.
Clear all other checkmarks, such as automatic checkmarks in the Android 4.3 and Tools sections.
Note: We recommend that you do not install additional libraries or updates except as distributed by RAD Studio.
Click Install 1 Package.
Power up your Android device and connect it by USB cable to your development system.
In the system Control Panel, search for and select "update device drivers" in order to open the Device Manager.
In the Device Manager, locate and right-click your Android device, and select Update Driver Software.
In the Update driver software dialog box, browse to the \extras folder in your Android SDK directory, and select the folder that matches your Android device. (For example, select google for the Nexus 7 or Nexus 10 tablet.) Then click OK.
Note: This is the location of the Google USB driver in our default Android SDK installation: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Embarcadero\Studio\18.0\CatalogRepository\AndroidSDK-<Version>\extras\google\usb_driver.

Cannot detect Xperia C in ADT and Android Studio installed in Windows 8.1 PC

I have a Sony Xperia C2305 with Android version 4.2.2. Problem is I cannot deploy, debug and test android app within it. Neither Eclipse ADT nor Android Studio detect this phone. I found this phone detects on Windows 7 but I am using Windows 8.1.
How can I solve this detection problem? I also visited the Sony sites for driver, but I could not find any driver for this phone. Besides that I think all other relevant settings are OK.
I think I know how to fix your problem. Open "my computer" -> device manager -> other devices -> Android -> right click and choose update driver. Browse my computer for Driver Software -> Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer. Then scroll down and find Sony so0101 driver.
If you haven't this driver in list, you should install it from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=50386981&postcount=5 this attachment. Just unzip and run DPInst64 (don't forget to set compatibility with windows vista sp2).
After that you can choose sony so0101 driver.
It works for my Sony Xperia M2 on windows 8.1
Have you opened the Developer options in the system Settings?
On Android 4.2 and higher, the Developer options screen is hidden by default. To make it visible, go to Settings > About phone and tap Build number seven times. Return to the previous screen to find Developer options at the bottom.
Have you already downloaded the Android SDK? If not, install & open it, select "Google USB Driver" in the Extras tab, maybe deselect all the other stuff you don't need, and click "Install Packages"
Also you have to enable "USB Debugging" in the developer options. #ivkil explained how.
EDIT: It seems that he deleted his Answer (it vanished...).
Enable Developer Options: http://developer.android.com/tools/device.html
EDIT 2: nevermind.

Google USB Package isn't showing in SDK Mananger

I recently downloaded and installed Eclipse Java EE IDE: Indigo Service Release 2. I made a simple application that runs well on the emulator; now I want to try and run it on my android mobile device. From the Android Developers site, I followed the instructions to do so until I got to the point where I needed to locate the USB driver folder for the Google USB driver found in sdk\extras\google\usb_driver. I do not have that driver, so I went on to download it. I was told it was found in the SDK manager under "Extras". I proceeded in Eclipse to Window > Android SDK Manger. I waited for it get done fetching and then went to "Extras". Making sure "Updates/New" was checked as well as "Installed"; however, the only thing under the "Extras" tab is "Android Support Package" and nothing else.
And so here I am ... stuck on what I need to do.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You can get the USB drivers for most devices from the manufacturer's site listed here.
As far as the Google USB drivers, I would ensure you are running the latest version of the Android SDK tools and to try running the program as admin.
I just noticed that bringing up the SDK manager from within Eclipse will not show the Google USB driver... However, opening it up via the Start Menu will. (Also, run it as Administrator).
I was having a similar issue and I traced my root cause to this error. I forgot to install Google USB driver. This can be done via SDK manager, ie Android studio->File->Settings->Appearance and behavior->System Settings->Android SDK in tab "SDK tools" check the option for "Google USB Driver" and Apply.
I was having a similar issue and I traced my root cause to this error message in the log.
XML verification failed for http://dl-ssl.google.com/android/repository.addon.xml
If this is the case, make sure your JDK/JRE version is 1.6 or greater.
If you are using Windows 7 64 bit, make sure you update your x86 JDK/JRE version as well.
