How to apply letter spacing in custom button?

I have one button and letterspacing is not working with it. Please check my following snippet code

You can't apply letter spacing in button/custom button because their is some limitation in button component in which you can't make text appearance and background customization and more limitation
the solution for this is instead of button you can use text view and make custom text view it will also work similar to button and customize it according to requirement.

Add android:letterSpacing in PrimaryButton_v2 it will work perfectly.

applying style to textview drawable

I have a layout for a TextView and drawable as such...
<LinearLayout style="#style/dashboard_content_horizontal" >
<ImageView
style="#style/dashboard_imageview"

style="#style/dashboard_textview"
android:text="#string/menu6_text />
</LinearLayout>
as you can see the image uses a style attribute which looks like this

this all works and looks exactly how I want it to look. however, because of this eclipse warning
"This tag and its children can be replaced by one
and a compound drawable" I decide to try to do this with just a TextView and drawable
like such..

android:layout_height="wrap_content"
android:text="Menu6"
android:drawableBottom="#drawable/my_drawable"

this renders the image too small.. I don't see a way to apply a style to the image to get it like I want it.. anyone know the answer? is even possible?

Issues in abstracting ImageView style into themes.xml

Here's my original layout:

And I have extracted all but one of the ImageView layout into themes.xml:
<style name="MenuButton" parent="Theme.AppCompat.Light.DarkActionBar">
<item name="android:layout_width">wrap_content</item>
<item name="android:layout_height">wrap_content</item>
<item name="android:layout_centerVertical">true</item>
<item name="android:layout_alignParentRight">true</item>
<item name="android:paddingRight">10dp</item>
</style>
I then replaced the attributes of the ImageView above to be:
<ImageView
style="#style/MenuButton"
android:src="#drawable/ic_action_refresh"/>
My problems are:
The design preview in Idea complained it couldn't resolve the MenuButton style.
The app deployed and ran just fine on my device, but the android:layout_centerVertical attribute was not applied. The item floated to the top of the container.
I'm new to Android so I'm likely to have missed something fundamental. Any ideas please?

Dont use these attributes in style
<item name="android:layout_width">wrap_content</item>
<item name="android:layout_height">wrap_content</item>
It may create problems.

How to set distance betwen textview and drawable in a button?

okey guys, i've a button like the pict below
i want to change the distance between the text with the drawable . how to trick this one ?
this is my xml code for a button

Btw i solved my problem with made some changes in my button style. so it become like this :

I think we just need to set the padding left &/ right to the best point that fit our design.

Layout weight is not fit, it change every input

I have a spinner, an edittext and a button in a horizontal linearlayout. When I have enter something into edittext, it increase every character and others decrease. There is an eanough blank area input but it does not change, every time it increase how long character I input.
How can I fix it?
