In order to make my view always visible even when the keyboard shows, I made a linear layout and gave every item a weigth. I made the TextViews uniform and gave them a minimum size:

as you can see below. However, when I click to edit the EditText, everything gets smaller but the EditText will not respect the weigth, even though it has the value 4, which should make it appear much more than the rest. Also, the little TextView disappear almost completely

If you can set a fixed width for your outer LinearLayout, then your requirement can be achieved by wrapping the TextView in another layout.

I have a screen with view that get affected when the soft keyboard appears, the entire white portion is in a ScrollView:
When I set the windowSoftInputMode to adjustPan in the manifest, the keyboard covers the save button, which can't be pressed until the keyboard is collapsed:
If I set it to adjustResize, the the views are all raised to overlap each other:
In neither case does the screen scroll. What I would like is for all of the views to remain in their original positions, but allow the user to scroll to the bottom behind the keyboard, until the bottom of the screen below the save button is adjacent to the top of the open keyboard. Is this possible?

I tried to add android:fadeScrollbars="false" and android:scrollbarFadeDuration="0" and nothing works
I tried also to put the fadescrollbars to true and add some durations to the fade and it does not have any effect
what am I missing?
I am making a layout for MainScreen of an app using TableLayout and I want to set 6 square Buttons inside TableLayout (3 rows, 2 Buttons inside each of them).
Buttons are supposed to be placed with the same spacing between and have the same size.
The problem is that I can't make it look like I want, because layout looks different on different screen resolutions.
I know it may be normal behaviour, but I have no idea how to position layout correctly.
Is there any workarround instead of making different XML files for different resolutions?

It would be best to use ConstraintLayout, its very easy and very responsive, in your example you are giving fixed size to your views - different phone got different screen size and this is why you will see different display on differant phones. here is an example for a layout that looks like you need:

The problem is that I want two linearlayouts inside a linearlayout.And I want those 2 linearlayouts to be aligned vertically according to android:layout_weight property.But it seems that layout_weight is not having any effect. Here is my layout

All content inside both the linear layouts has their layout_height set as wrap_content.
The important thing here is that, weights work only after all views having not weighted layout_height/layout_width have occupied space on the screen.
