BottomNavigationView: set circle image and get view reference

As you can see in the image above, I would like to put a custom image in place of the item.
I have tried several solutions to no avail.
The first problem is having the possibility to put a personalized menu.
To achieve this my menu has been constructed in the following way:

After that, my goal was to put the image that interests me inside the "profile" item and in particular inside the profile_image_layout: "picture_profile" menu.
To recover the View I tried this way:
FrameLayout rootView = (FrameLayout) navigator.getMenu().findItem(R.id.profile).getActionView();
But from the rootView I can't access "picture_profile". Could anyone tell me if I'm doing well or what I'm doing wrong?

you can use local Repository (SingleTon design pattern) that you keep the logged in profiles information in there and read the profile pic and information from that
for using Repository pattern you need to have a singleton class with required fields

There are two mistakes in your menu.xml:

android:actionLayout="#layout/profile_image_layout". should be app:actionLayout="#layout/profile_image_layout"。
You should use only one of ‘actionLayout’ & ’actionViewClass‘, or 'actionViewClass' will be chosen. After 'app:actionViewClass' deleted, it works.

Bottom Navigation Icons are Cropped Android

I'm assembling an app with a Botton navigation bar in Android with Android Studio. With two icons it looked fine, but when I added four, the icons look cropped. I can't find any other error like this. Any suggestions are welcomed.

Question Update:
I tried changing
app:showAsAction="ifRoom"
for
app:showAsAction="always"
And it doesn't solve the problem. There is no change to the issue. And it does not show the tag in every icon as it should. Only on the selected one.
One way of solving it is adding a Theme to the bottom navigation call in activity, like this:
android:theme="?attr/toolbarNavigationButtonStyle"
I have no clue why it works, but it solves the issue apparently in lots of devices exept in Samsung Galaxy Note 8

Try changing a value for the property below:-

and if still, your problem persists, please provide the file
"bnv_tab_item_foreground"

Use Support Library 28. Then, just add app:labelVisibilityMode="labeled" to your BottomNavigationView XML declaration.

I believe this is being caused by your layout not fitting into the System window, and you can easily fix this by going to the Layout you have the Bottom Navigation and at the root layout add android:fitsSystemWindows="true" just like I did below

How to add custom style to menu items in Android Studio?

I made a navigation drawer following a youtube video.

How can I add custom fonts and font sizes for the items like - Making the "Title" with a size of 26sp and other items with a size of 18sp. How can I also make them centered and also add padding to it?
I tried doing that from the design interface but it doesn't have any of those options. Using android:layout_gravity="center" that did not work for me either.

Try to having the
android:actionMenuTextAppearance
item under your action bar style, move it under your app theme.

Add this to strings.xml from values folder. Here for size their are different terms like and and to change font face you can use face inside font tag.

android navigation drawer item without icon, display text only

I want to add a menu item entry without icon to navigation drawer in my android app.
I have checked the samples at NavigationDrawer
and read through the tutorial at Android Developer training article.
I edited the sample menu to add new menu items "My Text 1" and "My Text 2" as per this xml file following this image:

If i remove the two lines declaring icons for "Share" and "Send", then "My Text 2" gets aligned to the left as shown in this image
But i want to keep the icons of other items, and just add a text item, i hope there is some parameter that allows no icon menu item in groups.
I tried using android_icon="#android/color:transparent", but that doesn't/can't solve the problem either.
I dont want to provide any icons for my menu items, but i expect that text to align to the left. Is that achievable? If yes, how?

No custom layout here.
You have to create a second group with an ID (even dummy) then in this group put all the items without any icon.
Note: every time the group ID changes Android adds a separator line.

Now in your activity of this xml file take the references of views and make click events or other changes easily.

A simple alternative would be to use a custom layout instead of a menu.
It'll be a simple change. Simply, you can just create a custom layout as you would in any other layout but instead of indicating the corresponding menu within the NavigationView, instead of using the app:menu="#menu/drawer_view" attribute.
You can simply follow the layout structure of in your Activity.

There's no fundamental difference between the structure of the tutorial and that of this layout except, I've chosen to use a LinearLayout instead of a menu resource for the side menu (obviously the rootlayout for the side view will be at your discretion but for your use-case LinearLayout fits best.).

You can then simply customize your layout and where you want a TextView with an icon on the left use the DrawableLeft | DrawableStart attribute, and if you don't want an icon simply just don't use it.

I would look into what the DrawerLayout does and why it is structured that way, the content goes below the menu for what reason? Looking into these things helps you develop an understanding where you can customize layout structures to your liking.

Moving navigation drawer items to right

I need your help please help me.
I have a navigation drawer in my app. i want to move navigation drawer to right completely . I moved the navigation itself but i want to move menu items to right too.

first: You can put your device in RTL mode, go to develop settings (Force RTL layout direction).
After doing this all the layouts will mirror correctly.
If you don't want to change the whole device into RTL use this code in onCreate method of mainactivity before super and before you inflate the content view
window.decorView.layoutDirection = View.LAYOUT_DIRECTION_RTL

You need to use a custom layout for NavigationView.
